Oh I do love these kind of places! Nice settings, had some drinks and sliders with them and it was a really good experience. We shared the pulled pork, beef, fish sliders and it was just enough food to keep you happy! Very nice drinks, an extensive drink list and I will surely come back whenever im visiting London again for drinks here.

My university alumni society hosted some casual drinks here the other evening. We had a decent sized area on the left side of the bar, and one member of staff that was dedicated to bring out drinks to us. But somehow they only had one bartender serving the entire bar, and it was reasonably busy… so service was really slow. The other thing I noticed was that drinks are extremely expensive. The cheapest glasses of wines are around 9 pounds, and the cocktails are like 12 pounds. I asked if there was a happy hour deal, as it was before 7PM on a weekday, but there was not. I ordered a glass of sauvignon blanc and then a picpoul, but wouldn’t have much more than that! My friend and I also ordered a mezze platter to share. It was 17 pounds but came with a good amount of food. We enjoyed crudite vegetables with a ranch type of sauce, pita and hummus, some grilled vegetables, olives, and guacamole. After that I was completely full, though we could have used some extra pita as the hummus helping was really generous. Overall I think this is clearly a work travel or special occasion type of place… though personally I didn’t think it was nice enough to justify a special occasion, as there are much more glamorous hotels in London than this one. I suppose the location is very convenient if you are more a Soho type of person than a Mayfair kind of guy. But seriously, even the local pub is more fun.

I had breakfast here almost daily last week. I tried the English Breakfast, the Healthy Breakfast, and the smoked salmon and bagel. No major disappointments, but service was sometimes painfully slow and apathetic. The power move might be to give up on trying for a hot meal and go continental since the fruit was generally good as was the greek yogurt.

Not a bad restaurant, décor and service cannot be faulted and the atmosphere is very easy going. Potential to celebrity spot, but you wouldnt wanna risk looking uncool by being obvious. The food is «ok» but could benefit by being decent portions and not charging too much for additional sides. I’d be willing to come again but not become a regular.

A great place for a business lunch in Soho, and based on the stylish crowd one that is clearly visited by many an ad agency exec. The brightly lit dining room is trendy yet accessible. Refuel might be a bit expensive(you’ll want to go here on an expense account), but the food is tasty and the service is attentive. When I was there they offered a special lunch fixed price menu with 2 or 3 courses. I had the aubergine salad — which was simply amazing followed by a perfectly cooked steak frites. They offered a special Irish stew for St Paddy’s day that looked quite good as well. Overall this is a very solid high-end lunch place, tucked inside the Soho Hotel away from the people and tourist circus that is Soho.

Went here for a Birthday Lunch, had a fabulous time. The service was exceptional this was highlighted by the waitress’ knowledge and her passion for the food. To add the waitress also goes home and cooks her favourite dishes. Liking that. We all decided to have main courses. I went for the rump of lamb. It was beautiful cooked in white wine and saffron sauce. The other major highlight here was the cob salad, highly recommended if you want a good feed. The signature dish of our meal was our desert; we went for the Espresso sorbet, mascarpone zabaglione. This was truly a taste sensation. The layer of froth then went into a rich espresso sorbet, with delicious chocolate twills on top.’ A Triumph’. Finally we were presented with a delicious array of pieces of Chocolate with Blackberry’s and Strawberry’s with Happy Birthday written on it. This was a lovely gesture from the Restaurant to end a marvellous meal.

Located inside the Soho Hotel, this place is makes me want to put on a cocktail dress, high heels, and look sexy and be sassy all night long. The cocktails are delish, especially anything with passion fruit in it. Location-wise, it’s slightly hidden from the main bustle of Soho streets which makes it an A+ in my book. I rather go on a weeknight as the it can be busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Great with a couple of friends any time of the week though.

A few of us came here for dinner last night to celebrate a friends engagement, the champagne was flowing and chat unstoppable! This place is sexy .it has a busy, sassy vibe. We were using a toptable deal — 3 courses and a glass of champange for 22 quid … really reasonable. The food was tasty, the service was pretty good… it wasnt as good the busier it got, but overall a good choice and fun was had by all.

Not your average hotel bar. Great décor, and huge inside. The cocktail menu although a bit pricey, is a fun read and even better to taste. The place was packed when we went on a Friday night so seating options were limited and service was a little slow. The crowd was hip and the location central, but slightly hidden. I’ll be back.

Ways in which I heart Refuel, I cannot count. Yes, it’s pricey and yes, it’s a little predictable — but I’ve never had a bad meal here. I wouldn’t go here to sit in the bar and drink, it’s just too expensive. I do a lot of coffee meetings here though. The latte is lovely, and it’s a nice environment with comfortable chairs in which to talk. i don’t feel as if people are listening in to my conversations there. However, its real forte is its breakfast menu. My newly discovered favourite meal of the day(I can meet someone, talk about work or be briefed on some news — then head back to the office without having lost much of the day AND with a story in place), it’s only a few streets down and ALWAYS delivers. The best is the hot smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with an English muffin, plus fresh and orange juice. I usually have that, but there’s a five page menu to boot. Refuel does breakfast bundles as well(I can’t think of any other way to describe them). At some point during my birthday week, the champagne one(complete with fresh fruit, cooked breakfast and mini pastries) has to happen. I also went to a birthday party held in one of the private rooms downstairs earlier in the year. It was probably the nicest set-up I’ve seen yet in a city location. The room had its own bar/barman, and held about 40 people with waiters bringing canapés at regular intervals. Far from a pretentious atmosphere, it was just lovely, which none of the bustle of cramming into a bar — but a chance to really talk to people. Pricey I’d imagine though. NB. Celeb spotting location alert. My top score was Seal and Heidi Klum.

I went there with my friends on Friday evening for dinner, we booked a table and special offer 3 courses plus a glass of wine for £20. Food was delicious and good value given the offer, the wine was average but fine as it was included. Great atmosphere, great staff and my friend was really happy to know that Ethan Hawke was sitting in her chair just before we popped in! In my opinion, the normal menu is a bit overpriced, I ordered a side salad(quite small and simple) which costs £5 and another glass of wine but nothing was less than £8 a glass! They also charge the bottle of still water £5! Great place if you are not looking to save money.

One of my favourite bars in London. I’m more of a pub man but if I’m going to head out in Soho and do the bar thing then it’s going to be here. Quite a few times now I’ve(as Stephen says) hung out with the beautiful crowd — most notable person being Jamiroquai. The service is excellent, the bar is hyper cool, the drinks are delicious and the antipasta is divine. Sit down, let the bar staff take care of your every need, order some antipasta, drink a bottle of delicious white wine. Ah, soho. Ok, this is stupidly pretentious but its bloody good fun. If you’re really getting into it, try the champagne mojito. I can’t comment, but I imagine eating here for breakfast or dinner is pretty bloody good. Will have to try it out next time I’m in London and report back.

The Refuel bar is located inside the Soho Hotel, tucked away in Richmond Mews in Soho. It is well worth searching for. I have had, at different times, all 3 meals of the day here. And it manages to cater well adnc reate a different but appropriate atmosphere for each. For breakfast it feels Californian — great power breakfasts, massive fruit yoghurt combos and great juices. But it really comes alive at night — the bar buzzes with the beautiful people(and sometimes me as well) and the restaurant is packed. Works well for business or a meet up with friends.

Somewhat interesting décor that’s fitting of a posh hotel in Soho… and a fairly sharp looking crowd(in that artsy/Ray-Ban/I’m-too-cool-to-care-so-I-sport-an-ensemble-that-shows-that-I’m-too-cool-to-care kind of way) plus nice cocktails… but for some reason I just wouldn’t tag this as a destination bar. It gives off the vibe that this is more the sort of place you’d only wander down into if you happened to be a guest at the hotel… or indeed, are simply there to conduct business; it’s just doesn’t have a feeling of intimacy. That said, the bartenders are incredible. Nice, accommodating, and don’t hesitate to rise to the challenge of difficult cocktails tastes and demands… indeed, their level of charm and extreme pleasantness is perhaps the bar’s best asset.

The interior of the Soho Hotel is beautifully designed and is home to the Refuel Bar. This is where the suitably pretentious, advertising Soho crowd hang out. Despite this, I always have a good time. The service is good and although can get quite packed, it’s relaxing. The cocktails are great and the bartenders are friendly. They will make a cocktail on request if you’re brave enough to suggest one. The wine list is vast with a great selection of champagnes. I would think many a deal has been struck here over a few bottles of Cristal.

Just my favourite place in Soho for a breakfast meeting. Really chilled out, excellent and friendly service and super nice décor to admire as you sip your coffee. The juices of the day are always winners, but the strength of this place for breakfast is the really extensive menu — there’s so much choice it always takes me at least one cappuccino’s time to decide! Fave is the brioche with mushrooms, poached egg and hollandaise — sounds a little odd perhaps, but it’s just delish. Refuel also boasts a waitress that is probably the smiliest the world has ever seen — and if that doesn’t get your day off to a good start, nothing will.
