Popped into the bar for a drink before our comedy show and it was very lovely with a great vibe. Perfect location too. Went next door to the comedy to see Michael McIntyre, and I was surprised how big it was. Must have been 200 seats perhaps? Thought the tiered layout seating was fantastic. Everyone could have a good view. We actually sat on the sides up on balcony. Was great view from there too. Loved this venue. Great acts perform and McIntyre was awesome. Will defo be back!

The bar was fine. What was more fun was the theater attached. We saw Diane Chorley and she and the show were absolutely divine. We laughed, we sang,. A memorable evening.

Loud loud and louder. Expensive and sticky. Convenient when you’re waiting for a show in the theatre, but otherwise I wouldn’t bother.

Nice buzzy bar with friendly staff. Had a couple of drinks here before seeing a comedian and really enjoyed myself. Will definitely head back!

Brilliant. Standing in between the trashy bars of Soho and the upper class eateries that rip you off drink and food wise this place offers extensive choices but with a chilled vibe. Try their melontinis — they’re good.

This bar is conveniently positioned to quench your thirst while waiting for a show to start at the theatre. Bar staff are a bit ditzy but nice. Can get quite packed but that usually only lasts for 15 — 20 minutes at a time as people go in and out of the theatres. You can purchase a bottle of wine in advance when buying your ticket online, which helps cut faffing time at the bar. Excellent place for people watching if you get a spot facing outwards to Dean Street.

I had the yummiest Strawberry Daiquiri here the other night! Had no idea a theatre bar would make such a damn good cocktail! It even had a strawberry! Really tasty… was like a naughty smoothie!

If not for the fact that I had a show to attend in the Theatre, I wouldn’t have bothered sticking around for a second round here. The beer was a bit on the pricey side for just the basics you can get most places, and my cocktail took aaaaages for the obviously new bartender to make. I probably could have taken care of it myself in less time. My G&T was Beefeater’s, which is okay, but not amazing. I was pretty unimpressed. For the amount they charge for the drinks, I expect better. I plan to grab a drink elsewhere next time I’m waiting for a show to start.

A destination in its own right. I’ve only been to Soho Theatre for a show once before. But I’ve been to the bar a number of times. It’s ideal for grabbing a relaxed drink without the business of a pub, or the pretense of some of Soho’s bars. Great place to work during the day too, given the free wifi. They serve some decent, inexpensive food here. It’s a great place to start the evening, or even for a date! It’ll no doubt be a little more busy up until showtime, but will usually empty out as people take their seats. If in doubt, head here for 7.30pm.

The Soho Theatre Bar is a refreshingly different drinking experience on a Saturday evening. Funky interior, people sitting at the booths and tables rather than cramming into the space and a lack of sleaze from the mixed crowd. Fantastic. It has its weak spots. The beer range is okay rather than spectacular: a case of the usual lagers plus more notable stuff like Brooklyn Lager, Timothy Taylor and Budvar. My friend was a bit miffed by what he felt was slightly surly and slow service when it come to topping up his pint. But the great atmosphere here, polite security guard and open bar until 1am more than made up for this I feel. Definitely somewhere I’d return to if in Soho and in need of a late evening drink in not overly loud surroundings.

What a lovely little theatre!!! I went here to see a japanese production entitled ‘The Bee’ and had a raucous time. maybe the size adds to the fact that once the play starts, you feel as though youve been transported to another timeas though you are literally a part of the production. it’s all so intimate no individual seating. the bar is lovely for drinks and snacks and competitively pricedi almost felt as though i was back in high school and was going to watch one of the school productions and had just popped out to buy a snack from the tuck shop. I have NO complaints about this place. i love it and willl definitely be back again and again.

I have been to several productions, found them to be interesting, left of centre and competitively priced. The bar is great, does food, and is quick to serve. They do a number of deals on food and drink if you have a ticket for a performance.

Great theatre offering a good range of contemporary drama, dance and comedy. I’ve seen some fantastic performances here in both categories, and there are regular courses held here for those with an interest in getting involved. There’s a good sized bar downstairs which serves as a pleasant waiting area!

Henning Wehn — «German Comedy Ambassador to the United Kingdom» — nie kennengelernt und dafür gibt es vier Sterne.

I went here this evening to see a one-off performance of my uncles new play in the top theatre space and its a really great little space! You really get that intimacy with the actors as there is no real barrier between the front row of seats and the stage. One thing I would say is that I was sitting near the back and the space was completely full so at times when the actors sat on the floor I couldn’t see a thing — but hey, it’s to be expected with such a basic space so that’s only a tiny complaint. The downstairs bar is pretty cool too and drinks are too expensive if you fancy some after the show. You really get a personal, friendly atmosphere from the the theatre and I’m keen to go back and see what other performances they put on here as the year progresses.

I visited Soho Theatre Bar on a Friday at about 12am after seeing a fantastic cabaret show at the theatre(Our Lady J). The Bar was comfortably filled with an unpretentiously hip and chilled crowd, made up for the most part of after-show couples and small groups of regulars. At the bar, the staff were efficient and friendly, serving a good selection of beers, wines and cocktails(which definitely packed a punch). The coupling of light, airy space — the Bar has refreshingly high ceilings, and a large glass façade — with loud funky-house/electro was genius. This Bar is great for an after-show drink, a early-night warm-up or a late-night warm-down. I will definitely be going again to check out what the vibe is like during the week, and to see whether the Bar serves as well as a café as it does a bar!

Love the bar, love the theatre. I can’t lie, I have friends who work at The Soho Theatre so I have absolutely no objectivity in this regard. That said, BELIEVEME. Funky seating, which is nice. Wifi, but it’s spotty. Several plugs for Le Computer(that’s English, right?). And tea… oh, heavenly tea. They give you the whole pot. I rarely go there in the evening, but I definitely top by during the day. It’s around the corner from Bar Italia(look it up fool) and the Soho Park. Must sees if you’re not in a hurry to do anything but hang out. Which, you know, you shouldn’t be.(In a hurry, that is.)

Great bar for this small theatre which specialise in comedy and new writing. Hit it around play show times and it’ll be buzzing with punters. But, hit it at any other time and you’ll be able to grab a table or chair with ease. Worth remembering for busy Friday and Saturday nights when all the other bars are packed to the rafters. Only small niggle, some serious toilet issues when I visited. Feel sorry for the staff having to deal with that, but you gotta get your plumbing sorted or it’s the only thing that the punters will remember.

The Soho Theatre is a great venue for music and stand-up comedy. The atmosphere is immediately lightened when you get in because there are no designated seats; you simply have to squeeze, 14 to a row, onto cushioned benches, and there’s a sense of fellowship when you all have to shove up a bit so that the ushers can cram a few extra people onto the end of your aisle. It is worth getting there early to be at the front of the queue and choose the best spots, but you’re guaranteed a good view wherever you sit, as the seating is very steeply tiered, and the stage is not raised so if you sit at the front you will still be able to see properly. You’re allowed to take drinks in plastic cups into the theatre. The main bar near the entrance has a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, as well as some lovely and unusual fruit juices.

The venue is just right for plays and stand up acts. i saw Stewart Lee here, and even though he is now old, and fat, and his hair is dull and lifeless, and there is an almost tangible aura of death around him, as if he was weary of life, it was still a very funny evening, even when he refused to tell more jokes and just sat on the stairs, trying not to die. The toilets aren’t as good as they were, they’ve been redone cheaply, but there are still writers rooms available if you are trying to make it as a writer but can’t quite afford a computer, so you can write instead of going to the loo. And the ones on the top floor are unisex. As one fellow user said ‘it’s just like friends.’

Went with some friends to the Soho Theatre to see crazy New York comedian Rick Shapiro here on a Tuesday night. Was very busy with the office crowd! The theatre bar, at street level, is really centrally located with minimalist interior, and busy any night of the week, it’s a great place to go for drinks with friends after work, even if you aren’t attending a show. The drinks are reasonably priced for the Soho area(well the beer was anyway), and the staff professional and quick to serve you!(A rarity in some parts of this city) Music is played in the bar and you could swear you were approaching the weekend! Good vibes and good times abound here in this bar, and the calibre of clientele are happy, lively, professional people. The theatre itself is upstairs and shows off-West End theatre and travelling comics every night of the week. A big plus here is the fact you can take your drinks upstairs into the theatre with you! In summary, the Soho Theatre bar is a great meeting point for some after work drinks, even if you aren’t there for the Theatre!
