As a visiting football fan The Rose Of Denmark is definately our prefered choice of pub in the area and tends to be popular, but less busy due to being a slightly further walk from Charlton Athletic than the Antigallican. It can be found on Woolwich Road, just past the petrol station(walk down past Charlton station and turn left). This place makes a point of welcoming home and away fans alike and has always been a relaxed atmosphere. If you are wearing colours though, expect to be collared for a photo with the Charlton mad regulars. I’d recommend it to home and away football fans alike and would imagine it would be a pleasant place to visit for anyone else too.

Been in a few times and its always a great and friendly atmosphere before the matches. Has a beer garden to the side and a few benches out front for you to sit out in the nice weather. Not too far from the ground and its pretty easy to find.

This pub is slightly better than the pickwick up the road. But still not nice enough for me to abuse the fact that it’s a two minute walk away from my house. One of these days, I’ll live somewhere nice with a brilliant local pub. Dammit. But unlike the pickwick, I’ve taken my parents here for a beer. And it’s fine. You get the feeling that they really don’t want you in there — you’re not a regular and they don’t really like that, but if you sit in the corner and don’t say a thing they’ll be fine with that. But please, when i walk past on Saturday morning to get my paper, don’t all you football fans stand outside the pub and wolf whistle at me. I secretly wish your team loses every single time you do that.
