Had a birthday dinner for a friend arranged here, having just opened and read reviews of the Brighton branch I was looking forward to it. The venue is nicely decked out, very modern looking with the food being prepared in the open so you can see what’s going into the food. There is also a pretty funky cocktail bar downstairs that I didn’t get to try. The service was good, there were a few small issues but I would put that down to first month nerves rather than anything more serious. Although we were hurried to finish even after we asked for the bill. The food… Mmmm, well it’s tapas but I don’t really think it works for me. Some of the dishes were not really good for sharing which is what tapas means to me. There were a few dishes that perhaps would have been nicer as a main meal like the salmon and the beef. We had six in our group and only a few of the dishes that adequately split between us. There wasn’t really a stand out dish for me, although the deserts were all very good. I think the best way to sum this place up was after we tried all the dishes we still felt a little hungry but we all agreed there was nothing that we were keen to try again. Locals should give it a try, hopefully the menu is seasonal and will get better. I’d give the cocktails a go sometime but I need some more positive reviews before I come back to eat.
