Very good food with huge portions. Ask to see the serving size before you order because you may want to share. A fun place with excellent service and friendly staff. We would go back next time in town!

It was packed, and service was slow. However, the food was amazing, and I enjoyed my glasses of wine very much. Plan to come back in the near future — hopefully I can sneak in and miss the crowd.

If you are looking for the best pancakes on the planet, check out the Swan! We popped in here during a Sunday stroll in London for a quick and tasty brunch. We were seated promptly. The service is a little sluggish, so plan accordingly with your time. I ordered the berry pancakes with whipped cream and could have happily ordered 3 or 4 more rounds — the best pancakes of my life. The pancake batter is similar to that of a victoria sponge and are griddled in butter, resulting in the most perfectly fluffy crunchy cake heaven you’ll ever put in your mouth. The pancakes are then topped in a berry compote and scratch-made whip cream. The whip cream has little flecks of vanilla bean and is perfectly sweetened. No maple syrup is needed for pancakes this good. My partner ordered the eggs florentine. I tried some of his hollandaise sauce and it was divine. What a lovely spot overlooking the Thames. We sat at a booth by the window. It felt like a dream.

I was in-between 2 and 3 stars, however the extremely slow service on a weeknight decided me. There is a nice ambiance and you can’t go work in those terms plus location is great and of you get a table with a view even better! However, food and service nothing great. The food was alright, but there are better options. Service wise I already mentioned that it was slow…

I had the theatre menu(2 courses). I went for the pork belly which was tasteless and not really filling. For dessert I had the burnt vanilla cream which was tasty but nothing that special. The service was extremely slow. The food took forever, we needed to ask for water quite a few times… not impressed. The location is really nice and the view us pretty. But I def wouldn’t recommend this place.

I walked along the Southern embankment, and the weather got bad, so I decided to wait until rain is over and have lunch. I found this place beside me, and never regretted. Beautiful, spacey and light restaurant. Had a nice salad and a good steak. Was great to have lunch looking at rainy Thames.

We Stopped at the Swan Bar for a quick lunch before the play. It was pretty busy, but we got our food from a very friendly person, who recommended a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to go with our sausage logs. The logs were really good — a little on the greasy side — but very flavorful and hot. The wine was good — not great — but it was served in a plastic bottle with plastic cups so we could take it in to the theatre to enjoy the rest whilst we watched the play. The prices were a little high but it is a tourist spot and they have a captive audience. The food was good, service was good and the atmosphere was great.

No matter how close to the theater or how upscale you think you are, you don’t let your guests wait 2 hours for a steak. That’s like the ground rule for hospitality, and unfortunately you are not even able to maintain that.

Nice restaurant and fun location! We arrived around 2 pm and asked to eat upstairs but I think it’s reserved for tea time only. So we ate near the bar, still great atmosphere. I had a hotdog with slaw, my husband had the tarte of the day. Both tastey, but not huge portion sizes. We were still hungry enough to order our own desserts. My husband got banana cake and I got passion fruit tart. I looooved the tart(I love passion fruit anything). The reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the portion sizes vs price. Quality was good but medium for the price.

Stop by the Swan Bar for a quick bite and enjoyed our booth, the view and the food. Excellent space and tasty bite. Busy place so good luck fighting the theatre crowd. my full trip report on my site if interested with photos of the food.

The food is very good but the service not as much. I had the vegetarian risotto which was delicious as was the steak which my friend had. It might feel like it’s a tad overpriced but you pay for the location and the view so I think it was okay. The service however wasn’t too great considering that they offered us a table for only two hours when the restaurant was pretty much empty. The bar has the usual selection of drinks and few London beers /ales but again the service was a little slow.

I really enjoyed my meal at the Swan. We arrived on a Tuesday night and we got a spot for 4 at a communal table right away. I ordered fish and chips with mushy peas. The chips were thick and delicious. The peas were well seasoned. The portion was huge. My only gripe was the stools at the table were uncomfortable. Highly recommend coming here over all the chains on the south bank.

Pre Shakespeare Shepard pie. The burger here is great. They a have an adequate selection of local ales and a great selection of other cocktails and wines. The service is really good for the pre show crowd. That’s a big deal really, it’s a perfect spot as far as proximity to eat before a show at the globe, they actually have an exit from the restaurant that puts you inside the ticketed area for the globe. The servers know when the show starts and can accommodate a fast turn around for guests. The place gets pretty loud when it’s crowded. The window seating is wonderful looking out over the river as well as great people watching.

What a wonderful little place. This was recommended to me and I was worried that the place would be touristy, as it sits on the river embankment right next to Shakespeare globe theatre but once the I never got that feeling, it felt cozy, warm and welcoming. I had a Sunday roast, which was delicious, very tender and juicy beef. The portion sizes are enormous. The gentleman who was the server was very friendly and knowledgeable, if was truly a wonderful dinner overlooking the Thames and St. Paul’ Cathedral. Highly recommended. Tip: ask to be seated in the dining room upstairs.

I think the Swan is such a beautiful space, so many big windows and rustic communal tables. I’ve never been upstairs(when we arrived, they were full up there and said reservations were best), but we managed to pop in at one of the central tables to enjoy a meal before our show at the Globe. We started with cocktails — my friend and I both got the Tragedy of York which is a fruity concoction of vodka, chambord, elderflower, apple juice, and raspberries. it was nice to have real raspberries in the drink, getting a little taste of one made each sip better. The drink was pretty small for the price, and not massively strong, but it was delicious. We then shared the watermelon and mint salad, some sliced meats, a butternut squash soup, and a fish and chips. The salad was gorgeous, with really fresh fruit and the salty feta was a perfect pairing. Nice pickled onions on top too. The charcuterie was tasty, though we ended up ignoring it a bit in favor of the other dishes. The soup was velvety and warming, absolutely perfect in autumn. And though my friend ate most of the fish ‘n’ chips, the few bites I had were very good — light flaky batter and tender fish, not nearly so greasy and filling as the dish can be. It’s a little pricey, and service could’ve been more attentive, but honestly for a place that’s basically for tourists as it’s Globe-adjacent, they do a pretty fantastic job. The food doesn’t need to be as good as it is, and I’m glad they put some effort into it. Even if you aren’t there for the theatre, it’s worth a stop. Wonderful place for a drink and a bite, though it does get very busy and the outdoor area eventually becomes only for theatre-goers! Worth noting that two years ago I also went to a private event here, where they rented out the front room, and it was really well-done. Do consider it if you’re throwing a party!

Entering Swan is a really positive experience as the place looks contemporary and spacious. Impressively, it even doesn’t give that much of a touristy feeling as I would have expected. But the service. Let me tell you, they should reconsider training or maybe providing training for the staff. Nobody knew what to do. They weren’t sure where to seat us and whether we could sit at certain table. This horror continued with clearly unexperienced girl with visibly bored face and bored performance. When I asked for fresh mint tea, they responded they don’t have any. When I pointed out the bunches of fresh mint on the bar, clearly ready for being used, the waiters responded they cannot be used for the tea as they are for the cocktails.(I mean, WHAT!!!) So she goes and asks the barman, who really didn’t let her to get few of those mint leaves. Payment seemed also a difficult task to do. The waiters sighed loudly when we wanted to split the bill. Seeing her bored face, we just took out our phones and calculated for her. Food wise, well… Back to the service. The waiters didn’t know the menu… Taste wise, it was alright. Nothing I would want to come back for as you can get that kind of food anywhere with waaaaay better experience. Portions on the smallish side. In overall, it was a tragedy… I will not be back and recommend avoiding at all costs! Actually, I am exaggerating. I’ve seen worse…

I am hesitant to recommend Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe. It’s definitely designed for tourists and I was extremely hungry when I decided upon eating. The service was iffy at best and I found that my cutlery was not clean. My eggs florentine was decent but not the best. You also pay far too much for subpar food and service. Skip if you can.

The food was delicious and service good. I ordered the Sunday Roast, which came out perfectly, as well as the croquettes. Really appreciated the server making sure all our orders came out speedily since we were going to a show next door. The décor is airy and open, and there is an open kitchen. Also a long table for communal seating. Also — don’t miss dessert — there’s a strawberry biscuit thing that is to die for.

We had an afternoon apéritif here after visiting Shakespeare’s Globe. Lovely views of the Thames and St. Paul’s Cathedral on a rainy night. Food was delicious, drinks even better, but service got lackadaisical in the end though they were enthusiastic when we arrived. Good, modern place though. Beautiful dining room upstairs especially.

É lindo lugar recomendo pra qurm quer viajar internacionalmente. No cinema destacam-se as versões do italiano Mario Caserini(1908), a do austríaco Richard Oswald(1921), a do norte-americano Orson Welles(1948), a do japonês Akira Kurosawa(1957) e a do polonês Roman Polanski(1971).
