Quick review for a quick pint — nothing to complain about but nothing to rate either. Outdoor garden is at a basement level, not particularly the nicest

Beaten to it by Cindy, but she’s right. We came in thinking to ourselves that the area was a bit of a dive, and the bar was going to be awful, but satiate our hunger. They had desserts on the menu, which is the only thing I was needing(the perfect hangover cure, right?). And boy, did they. The dessert menu was small. They had 2 mentioned on the menu outside, then an extra one mentioned on one of the menus we found inside, followed by another one added on to some other mini menu. A little confused, I went for the only thing I truly desired, anyway. Chocolate fudge cake with ice cream and whipped cream. Oh. Yes. Cake came slightly warm, with an even warmer(to the perfect temperature) sauce, healthy portion(oxymoron aside) of whipped cream and a cute dollop of ice cream. It feels a little embarrassing to say but, after my first mouthful, I don’t think I even came up for air until the entire plate was cleared. And that included trying to scoop all remaining chocolate and dairy to one side to just about fit on a spoon to suck up. It was that good. The general concensus was good food, and nice staff. All in all, a surprising joy that I think we all sort of wanted a first to review on. If ever I’m around in the area again, which with Rileys nearby I may be, this is on the cards for another visit. I recommend you do the same.

Ah you know you’re in a quality establishment when there’s a 15 year old boy pulling pints behind the bar. What a cutie! Plus he complimented my hair… there’s your five stars right there! This does seem to be a bit of a locals bar, but the staff are so sweet and friendly that I loved it straight away. You can sit inside in the traditional English pub setting or chill outside in the spacious front beer garden. It has that welcoming family vibe that you do not get in other bars in London, made me feel like I was back home in the country* again. I ordered a chocolate toffee ice cream thing that was fab. Very comfort food orientated menu, nachos, jacket potato, pies. *Note: I’m not really from the country but I harbour illusions of keeping chickens, walking the moors and paisley print aprons.
