This is a solid three stars. Wetherspoons is a big chain of uk pubs/boozers that offers cheap cheap booze and every type of pub food you can imagine. Nachos? Sure! Good old fashion Brit roast with peas and carrots? You bet! Curry? Obviously. Burgers. Stir fry. All of the things. Whilst this ‘worldly’ menu isn’t exactly going to pop up on food bloggers’ Instagram and Twitter feeds, it’s cheap and cheerful and will line the stomach. And you will need stomach lining because the booze here is even cheaper. Like ridiculously cheap. Did I mention cheap? Despite the unbelievable pub prices, you can still get some pretty decent booze. Aside from the big guys, there are some more crafty guys too. By the bottle, you can get brewdog, laganitas etc and they will set you back around £2.50 or for a ‘craft can’ £1.99. Affordable ++. For those feeling a little classy, a bottle of Chandon will cost you £32. Excellent. Don’t expect anything too crazy with the décor but it’s generally pretty clean, warm, well lit with a buzzing atmosphere(possibly because a round is under a tenner). Good stuff!

The food is ok and there’s plenty of choice. It’s unusual to find jerk chicken empanadas on a chain pub menu. They’re doing something right. I always remember the Thursday curry night special at the Wetherspoons on Holloway Rd. I like this place and give it an extra star for being open at 10pm after a long night in the office. It was the only comfortable sit down spot within sight that was still serving food. Thanks.

I ought to caveat this by telling you that we actually didn’t end up eating here, but left after a lot of confusion, disappointment and generally not being very happy with the place. We walked in at 11.40am and looked for a table. It was packed. So, the kind waiter tried to construct a table out of spare parts that other customers didn’t seem to be using. He ended up causing one man to leave — he had almost finished after all. So, after apologising to the poor chap, we sat at our newly built table and looked at the menu. We hadn’t had breakfast and the offerings looked reasonable. I chose a smoked salmon bagel and my sister opted for a veggie breakfast. I went up to order and had to wait behind a small queue as there was only one person behind the bar. I got to the till and asked for one veggie breakfast and one smoked salmon bagel. Ah no, came the reply — it was now 12.01pm and the breakfast menu had stopped. I explained that we had been there with a good 20 minutes to spare, but due to building work, queueing and general slowness of the place, had only reached the point of ordering ONEMINUTE past the deadline. A chat with the manager also proved worthless — we could order off the lunch menu, there was in fact a salmon bagel on it, at £7 instead of £3.50. «What’s the difference?» I asked«It’s now lunchtime» came the reply. «So the same ingredients served at breakfast were half the price as when they were served at lunch?» I asked. «Yes» she confirmed. Which is why we walked out without eating, rather disappointed after quite some confusion.

Typical Wetherspoons really, cheap booze, good for quick pint before your train departs, plus they don’t mind you poppig in for a quick wee insteed being charged for the pleasure. So thumbs up from me.

#529 Not the ideal place to hang out while waiting for your ride, but it’ll have to do. It’s much more appropriate than Yo! Sushi at 10 in the morning and less expensive than the Sports Bar & Grill across the way. They have an extensive breakfast menu, catering to your every possible craving, and the prices are rather affordable. I went with a Fruit Bowl with the yogurt on the side and Scrambled Eggs on Toast. The boyfriend ordered a full-on Traditional Breakfast. We also ordered ourselves a glass of cranberry and a glass of orange juice Our total came out to just about 12gbp. Affordable, right? Unfortunately, my fruit bowl came out with the yogurt drizzled all over my fruit, so we ended up having to send it back. Plus, my toast came out buttered profusely for me, so I ended up eating just the eggs while waiting for my fruit bowl yet again. Once they got the order correct, I was actually pretty happy about the amount of fruit that I was given. Tons of banana, pineapple, grapes, etc. The boyfriend was also happy with his Traditional Breakfast. It was slightly smaller than I’ve seen others, but still a hefty meal. Not bad at all.

I’m surprised this pub has got so many rave reviews. The immediate area around Victoria Station is a bit of a desert when it comes to stylish /quality pubs abd bars… Admittedly beer and food are usual Wetherspoons prices but I thought the place looked old, tired and dark — definitely in need of a freshen up and not to the same standards as some other Wetherspoons. Clienetele seemd to largely exist of coach passengers and people with not much to do during the day. OK if all you want is a cheap drink or meal, but I wouldn’t go there for any other reason.

The food is very good and the price is very cheap! I love the atmosphere of this pub, always crowed and very lively. A good place to go between friends. Must be visited!

I really like Wetherspoon as you can always rely on it to be good value and friendly. I have been to this particular branch of Wetherspoons many times and i have to agree with the previous reviewer that it can get very busy in the late afternoon and early evening so its best to get in quick! Food is usually served quickly and the staff are nice.

This pub is part of the Wetherspoons chain, and so is fairly generic in its décor and appearance. The pub itself is fairly large. Drinks prices are very reasonble, and there are the usual range of Wetherspoon promotions on offer(eg. Currry Club, Beer and Burger). The pub is also a Clould wifi point so you can surf and drink. It’s also just across the road from Victoria station and very convenient for local theatres, which it can be extremely busy in the evenings.

I have been in here a couple of times. Food is ok, arrives quick and is good value for money. Beer is good. It does get very very busy, but hey this is London!

Good enough for a Wetherspoon’s, but always very very busy. We’ve tried going here for a meal seveal times, but always wound up leaving because there was never any room to sit.

We use this Wetherspoons venue a lot to meet people before moving elsewhere to eat or drink. OK, situated above W H Smiths in the middle of Victoria station, it is not the most atmospheric place for a drink, and it gets jam packed with waiting commuters from 5pm onwards(it begins to get more sane again around 7pm). But it serves the full range of Wetherspoons selection of real ales, at very decent prices, and althogh the food is very standard pub grub, it offers good value for money if that’s all you want. And it’s a good rendezvous as it’s hard to miss, and so close to the trains and tube. You can also sit on the balconies and watch the trains come and go if you’re that sad, or people-watch if you are not!
