The Victoria

Decent pub with decent pub food. I had the pulled pork sandwich. The sauce was overly sweet, but not bad. Staff was really friendly. Had a czech beer with my food, which was good.

Came here last night for a quick half and a chat with some friends. To me this is pretty much the stand Central London pub — it’s busy, it has a good atmosphere and does some food.
The staff were friendly when I asked what type of cider they had on tap as I couldn’t see anything as they were obviously good at their jobs as despite the number of people in the bar, there wasn’t much of a queue.
So yeah, this is a perfectly reasonable choice if you’re looking for a pub in the Victoria area.

Great vibe and ambiance! The customers were awesome! We partied with a group of Brits who couldn’t have been more inviting to us Americans. We ate dinner and hung at some tables after. The best part was that our hotel was right next door, Z Hotel! Great hotel btw…

This pub was located right beside the hotel we were staying at and each night we had to weave our way through the punters drinking beers out on the sidewalk to get to our hotel.
We stopped in here for dinner one night and opted for the Banger’s ‘n Mash and the Big Ben Burger. The Bangers ‘n Mash were pretty standard fare with port sausages, mashed potatoes topped with an onion chutney and smothered in gravy. Quite good and definitely filling!
The Big Ben Burger came with a 6oz beef burger, bacon, cheddar cheese, a fried egg and topped with two onion rings! Almost too much to eat be very tasty!
It’s quite an active place and there were a lot of people have a really good time. The food was great and the service was quick so that might explain it!

A great traditional english pub. Nice laid back vibe, good place to meet for a quiet pint or two — the fish and chips are exactly what you expect — good pub grab. Friendly staff and enough seating — i’ll be back again

Grâce soit rendue au Victoria: grâce à sa présence en face de mon hôtel, il m’a détourné de ma décision boring d’aller dîner au Prêt à Manger du coin.
C’est un pub, comme il en existe des centaines à Londres, mais comme c’est bon quand on débarque juste du continent: des télés avec du foot (Angleterre-​Allemagne à Wembley, excusez du peu… malheureusement, ça se jouait à 11 contre 11 et à la fin c’est l’Allemagne qui a gagné), des machines à sous mal identifiées, des coins et recoins pour s’asseoir cosy, le brouhaha des amateurs de foot et de pintes… On commande et paie au bar à des jeunes filles très aimables, on donne le numéro de la table sur laquelle on aura auparavant jeté son dévolu, on emporte sa boisson tout de suite et on patiente jusqu’à ce que son plat arrive à sa table. Comme j’étais dans un trip cliché anglais, j’ai choisi le fish & chips du jour: un morceau, j’allais dire de bidoche mais l’expression est mal choisie, enfin en tous cas de protéines pané énorme accompagné de frites avenantes et de quelques petits pois alibi. Pas pu finir vue la taille de la bête, mais le Victoria fut une belle entrée en matière anglaise à mon séjour à Londres.

Die Lage des Hotels ist Super, gleich neben der Victoria Station. Man merkt, das dieses Hotel erst im Juni 2012 eröffnet wurde, denn es ist alles neu. das Personal ist sehr freundlich, wir konnten z.b. unsere Bording-​Pässe dort ausdrucken. Frühstück hatten wir nicht gebucht, also kann ich zur Qualität nichts sagen, aber ob es einem gefällt unten in der Lobby zu frühstücken muss jeder selbst entscheiden. Nun zu den zimmern, den wirklich kleinen Zimmern, also wirklich wirlich klein! Auf einem Foto von mir ist zu sehen das das Bett an die Duschkabine grenzt, womit der gösste Teil des Raumens auch schon ausgenutzt war. Viel Freiraum hat man nicht, aber man ist ja in London und nur zum schlafen da. Aber bitte keinen großen Koffer mitnehmen, sonst geht gar nichts mehr. WC und Dusche war alles hinter einer Glasfront verborgen, was zwar toll aussieht, aber nicht viel Privatsphäre lässt. TV war vorhanden ein Samsung smart TV, SKY war freigeschalten. Kurzum, ein tolles Hotel, wenn auch die Zimmer eng sind. Der Zimmerpreis lag bei 126 Pfund, ohne Frühstück wie gesagt. (Siehe Foto unten)

This is a chain pub with not that much character and a pretty bland plate of fish and chips.

Came for a roast, the carvery is on a sunday 12 – 3. Got roast of the day, £10. 3 lots of potatoes, roasts, new and mash. Which tasted like smash. To add insult to injury, no horseradish for my beef. Other than that, it was quiet and nice.

i mean really this place is just somewhere we go to drink after work because it’s literally right below our office.
it smells like beer and the bathrooms are a bit gross. also, service not awesome. but hey, they serve booze.

Bland pub that despite its large size can get so busy it’s difficult to move let alone get served. I try to avoid it.

The Victoria is a pretty good pub with a relaxed and fun atmosphere. It’s great place to grab a quick pint and stretch out after a long day of walking and touring around.
The crowd was a mixed bag, from business people, to couples, to tourists and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The music was mix of 80’s and newer rock & pop which was prefect.
We also decided to eat here and that turned out to be a solid move. We got a big plate of fish and chips and a burger and everything was quite good. The pricing was standard for what you’d find at any pub in the area.

Had the big fish & chips and it was enough for two, which is always nice in today’s credit crunch world. Emphasis on the pub and not the gastro, but nice enough place to have a pint with the suits after work in a pubby local.

My parents and I ate here just before we went to see Billy Elliot at the theatre down the road.
The pub was pretty packed with buisness types letting loose after a day of work but it was easy enough to order.
My dads fish and chips weren’t bad but I wouldn’t probably order my bangers and mash again.
HOWEVER I RECCOMENED: The FLAFEL BURGER (which my mom had which was good), and the frozen yogurt desert which was pretty bomb after having a beer.
My family and I had a nice meal before they theatre and met some friendly people who sat at the table next to us. All in all it was a good experience but I gave them three stars because it was a little PRICEY for a beer… but hey I guess they can charge whatever they want when they have fancy buisness people buying… and I didn’t have to pay this time so I shouldn’t really be complaining either… oh well…

Der Victoria Pub befindet sich in der Nähe vom James Park, etwa 2o Minuten Fussweg vom Zentrum, Oxford Street, ein Besuch dorthin lohnt sich, wenn man gerade mal unter Einheimischen sein möchte, hier zählt in erster Linie Gemütlichkeit, es ist ein sehr nettes Pub, das Publikum ist ebenfalls nett und der Service gut. Wir haben in dem Pub nur Flüssiges konsumiert insofern kann ich nicht bewerten, was die Qualität des Essens betrifft, die meisten kommen hier hauptsächlich hin, um etwas zu trinken,

This is a deceptively large and very popular pub, just opposite the west side of Victoria station.
It serves real-​ales (not a bad choice, actually) and food, the quality of both of which is OK, but not outstanding. Service is similarly OK — but it gets absolutely packed out on Friday lunchtimes and evenings, with a mix of tourists, office workers (very popular with the 20 – 35 age group) and other commuters, grabbing a quick pint on their homeward journey.
At such times I find it too claustrophobic for my taste, though it’s more relaxed in the afternoons and at week-​ends.
