During my stay at the Grovsnor hotel, the Brasserie offered a continental breakfast which was extremely convenient for my schedule. The operation ran very smoothly and the staff was efficient and friendly. However if it wasn’t for the pure need to provide sustenance in a very short period of time, I would have seeked food elsewhere. They offered a diverse breakfast buffet that offered savory and sweet selections. But the selections overall were a little bland for me. The fried eggs were reminiscent of the plastic fried eggs from a child’s kitchen set. And as a lover of bacon, I was sorely disappointed by the stripped bacon. Overall, okay. But if you have the luxury of experiencing London at your convenience, I recommend seeking out various options beyond the Brassier for breakfast.

Located inside the Grovsnor hotel, the Brasserie resto, is located near a big train/metro station. We ate here as a deal with the nearby theater(that’s currently showing Billy Elliot). We showed up around 6pm, and the restaurant was absolutely empty. We had a prixe fixe menu to choose from. Overall the food was good, but not outstanding. It is a pretty upscale place, and we felt that we got a good value with our choices. I really enjoyed the mushroom tart appetizer… everything else was decent/good. Service was great as, again, no one else was there!

This restaurant was AWFUL. I left feeling very ill and almost cancelled going to Buckingham Palace. The glaze on the beef short ribs was so gelatin that I could not eat it and sent it back. I then ordered a chicken Caesar salad and that too was bad. They used pre-made chicken slices. After I sent my first dish back the level of customer service diminished. I would never recommend this place.

I ate at the Brasserie while staying at the Grosvenor. The restaurant was nice but empty on a Saturday night. The staff was friendly and pleasant. The food was OK. I ordered the Fish and Chips(I had to have this meal at least once while in London). The fish was cooked nicely, and the chips were pretty good, too. My only gripe was that it took forever to get the check. The waiter asked twice if I wanted dessert. and then I waited. and waited. and waited for the check. :) I finally had to ask for the bill.
