There is nothing about the George that stands out, which is really quite a shame since it has such potential. The George is the definition of a local pub. I popped in one day on my way home and it was barren inside except for the bartender and an elderly old man sipping his fosters. During the hour that I was here, the largest crowd there consisted of me, three older gents, the bartender and a little girl belonging to one of the aforementioned older gents. The bartender was nice, but only requisitely. He certainly had a strong air of wanting to be ANYWHERE else in the world. It doesn’t help that the beer selection was mediocre at best. Two average cask ales then Foster’s, Guinness and Strongbow. The bottled selection was little more than Budweiser. If you’re in a pinch, you could do worse.

This pub seems alright. They serve a couple of ales(1 was off on my visit, but the Pride was in good condition) and the staff seem friendly. I like the layout and the music was quite pleasant. Modern but good. Apparently there can be a bit of trouble around this pub/street when Arsenal at home so I would not recommend rocking up here on match day. Otherwise, you could do a lot worse

The George can be a quaint little local. It has a free juke box and a pool table. It’s proximity to the Emirates stadium, however, makes it a madhouse on game days.
