Great location situated inside the Dorchester Hotel. Really swanky place with lots of history in London. Overall service was great — no one had a stiff upper British lip. There were lots of staff for our table of 6 people. Our wine and waters were refilled frequently. They were very attentive and professional. The food was amazing. Definitely recommend the tasting menu. The braised short rip was super soft almost melted in your mouth. Desserts were OK — I choose the mango/pear/passion fruit sorbets as there wasn’t really anything inspriing on the dessert menu. Other than that I would have given the place 5 stars. I’ll definitely be coming here again though — was a lovely experience.

Loved everything about this dining experience… especially with the £393 course dinner w/Champagne on arrival. The ambiance was lovely. Interior was classy chic and cozy. Didn’t feel pretentious. The staff was friendly and attentive as well. The braised short rib was delic– I recommend this for your main. The sorbets for dessert was excellent as well, in particular mango/passion fruit and the pear.

This is an iconic venue, and retains its character despite the very thorough refurbishment completed a year ago: gone are the yellow walls and strong tartan motifs, and in its place are acres of marble, polished copper and zinc panels, creamy leather and a huge murano glass chandelier. Even if it is not as distinctive(and the décor always was something of an acquired taste) it is still a comforting and classy interior. A clever feature is the wall panelling which can rotate to give a different daytime and night-time ambience. As one might expect, the food and service are very good indeed. I went with some friends to celebrate a wedding and had an evening set menu, which includes a glass of champagne. My vegetarian menu offered two choices for each course, and(after an amuse bouche of grated salad) I chose ricotta and herb ravioli in sage jus, followed by a cookpot of roasted seasonal vegetables and fruit; and for dessert, caramelized Pineapple, with exotic fruits and coconut sorbet. The cookpot was simple but tasty(I wish I could get my veg to taste that good) but the ravioli was the star — just sensational. The pineapple came with a very tart pineapple sauce, which made for a fascinating experience, but for pure indulgence, my neighbour’s dessert — the«Contemporary Lemon Tart»(think very posh lemon meringue pudding) was wonderful. Service was very attentive though not quite flawless — though the few errors were quickly and quietly sorted out. A two course lunch is £29 and three courses £39, plus drinks and service charge. A la carte my three courses would have come to £48. Meat and fish dishes are(as you might expect) more expensive.

I had the whole place to myself for lunch last Tuesday and it was amazing. I had the three course which started with bread, delicious butter and an amuse buche of salmon spread and crackers. The appetizer was blanched asparagus covered in a rich hollandaise sauce, just light and fatty and perfect all at the same time. The entrée was a beef ravioli of sorts. My favorite part was the presentation and the veggies on top. The beef itself was nondescript and a little tough. For dessert, I had the chocolate three ways, Alain Ducasse signature dish. It came with silver on top and ended the meal on a high note. The service was impeccable of course and the ambiance royal. As a tourist this was the perfect meal to end my European trip.

As you would expect from The Dorchester, the décor of The Grill was elegant and classy, plenty of height with traditional colours and patterns to represent the booming years of the Great British Empire. I went for the duck and foie gras terrine with preserved medlars for my starter, the terrine was nicely blended, the foie gras was creamy and smooth while the duck added a meaty texture which held the terrine together, however the medlars was a little lost in the dish, the fruity and floral notes were a little too weak to contrast off the robustness from the terrine. Overall it was a very solid dinner apart from the dessert, service was of a very high standard which is as you would expect from a five star hotel, warm, friendly with a great level of knowledge. But what really impressed me the most was the cocktails provided from the team at The Dorchester Bar…

The Grill Room at The Dorchester is one of London’s iconic restaurants. Excellent food with very good service. There is a set evening menu for £35 which is 3 courses with a glass of champagne, ideal if you have an event to celebrate. I had an asparagus salad, followed by slow roasted belly of pork. The quality and preparation of the food was first class and the portion size more than ample. One star off however, as the service was just off the pace at times. Having said that I’ll definitely be going back.

was impressed overall — it is a splendid dining hall with great ambience, i do like the contrast of a serene, lowkey dining experience compared to the hustle and bustle of most newer places. this is contrasted by distinctly non lowkey cooking. in reverse order the desert was bloody special… a chocolate bomb with raspberry crumble, crackle thing and vanilla ice cream… hard to describe, was very very nice. the lamb shoulder seemed a little dry whereas my guests salmon looked and tasted divine i believe. the service was exemplary and the sommelier was on point with good recommendations based on taste and budget. didn’t feel snootied out, crowd was relaxed. not cheap, the wine in-particular is from at least £9 a glass, up to £20. its park lane so bring your rolls or go home. ;) peace.

They say that in the old days those who weren’t as audacious as the ones who stayed at ‘The Ritz’ went to the Dorchester. The first impressions I had entering the Grill were — wow this is pretty grand but yet gaudy. The decorations of half naked Scotsmen and the Tartan high-back chairs is definitely cultural… and is carried forward in the dining experience. The food is exquisite and whilst the portion sizes aren’t the selling point the flavour and journey of the dishes are phenomenal. This is a true dining experience that combines the ambience with the experience of eating some really well thought-out dishes. The service is fantastic. With a sommelier on hand and an attentive waiter you are taken care of from the choice of your bread to the final bill. The other great feature of the restaurant — at least 1 metre space between the next table– ensuring you can have a quiet discussion in an intimate setting. This is one of the ‘impress me’ places that you should have on your list — great to bring visiting family and to take that someone-special. Unsurprisingly the price-tag matches with the 5 star ambience but it’s well worth it for a special and memorable occasion.

The Dorchester was grand! I loved my experience of having lunch at The Grill. We felt so special with the kind of first class service we received! The service was top notch. The food were delicious… we had the 2 course meal for lunch. The presentation was flawless. It was cosy and warm. Highly recommend this place if you have the budget for it!

Wow — that really does sum up what I think of The Grill at The Dorchester. We had an exceptional Sunday lunch this weekend: we had a reservation for a 3-course lunch at The Grill. And delicious it was too. If you haven’t been to The Grill, well — you really should go visit sometime, even just to coo over the décor(in fact, the whole of The Dorchester is simply stunning). It’s beautifully kitted out in kitsch scarlet red plush sofas and fantastic Scottish tartan warriors emblazoned across the walls. The flower displays were pretty impressive too. Back to the food: Suffice to say that we all enjoyed the best roast Angus beef we have ever tasted in our lives(main course). The entire 3-course lunch was truly divine. We started off with the chicken liver parfait and stuffed saddle of rabbit. Beautifully presented, you think that judging by the starter, perhaps the food won’t be enough to sustain you but whooo … wait and see how stuffed you feel by the end of the three courses. We all plumped for the roast Angus beef and it was served to our exact requirements(one medium, one rare, one medium-well done) with plentiful large slices: the roast potatoes were also the best I’d ever tasted and the veggies were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection with a nice gentle crisp texture, rather than steamed to death. The large yorkshire pudding was slightly over-done but that is the only thing I can possibly find any element of fault with. For dessert we plumped for black cherry soup with burnt marshmallow and sorbet, and the other dessert was a French dessert freshly-cooked to order which was sublime(I just wish I could remember what it was called!). Our meal had been accompanied by a very tasty Chilean white wine, the Viognier grape, which was an exquisite version of reisling and packed full of grapefruit, zingy flavours. Strangely enough, it was also a delicious accompaniment to the roast beef … By the time we reached the petit four stage we were totally stuffed. However, with eyes bigger than tums, we couldn’t resist sampling the petit fours which were presented in such a cute way and they were very tasty too(loved the peanut butter fudge and turkish delight, in particular!). Service throughout was exceptional — from being greeted at The Grill’s doors, to leaving The Dorchester for a long, long walk to give our tums some respite care. Observed discreetly, you never had to wait for a top-up and all of the staff were very happy to share a joke with you. Exemplary food, exemplary service — we’ll be back for more! Just need to remember to something with a stretchy waistband …

This excellent British restaurant is located within the renowned Dorchester hotel. It’s probably best to have a preliminary drink in the bar first and enjoy the splendid rich Dorchester atmosphere before coming in. The dining area is thoroughly decorated with various Scottish themes, providing for the traditional manorial setting. Service is very professional and attentive, as expected of such upscale establishment. Most dishes offered are delicious, prepared with a luxury take on the traditional food. The scallops for starter were certainly among the best I ever had. Meat dishes for the main course were also brilliant and creatively presented. The prices are of course considerable as expected of such high end restaurant. Parking near the front entrance will also cost a bit. However, given the exclusive location, great food and very pleasant atmosphere, it is well justified.
