A group of my friends and I went to The Imperial on Sunday afternoon.
Positives:
Halloumi & avocado lemon on sourdough. Delicious.
Salmon sashimi salad. Delicious.
Professional and friendly staff.
Has a walled garden.
Negatives:
Toilets are disgusting.
Strict policy on no shows.
The pasta dish wasn’t very nice.
The interior was bland and sterile, which is a shame because it’s in a beautiful building.
It was ok. Wouldn’t rush to go again.

Love the garden in the back! It’s dog friendly and the staff will even bring the pooches a bowl of water. The food is pretty awesome too.

I went to The Imperial because the Megan’s was closed. It was their chance to impress me !
Sadly, the poached eggs of my brunch were overcooked (Unforgivable) and we had to wait sooooo long for our plates !
I will stick with the Megan’s now…

When this pub first opened up it was a popular haunt. Now however it has seemed to have let itself slide and is only really used by my friends because of the location. Not one to write home about, needs an overdue makeover.

For some reason I always end up going to this pub more than I’d really like. I like its location — unless you live within 100 meters of it you have to walk past all these really nice independent furniture shops. However, there’s something about the atmosphere that I’m never really won over by.
The clientele always seem to be on some sort of school holiday so the vibe is slightly playground with everyone looking at everyone else to try and work them out. I’d hoped that Facebook would put a stop to this kind of crap but not here it seems. Not every night is the same though and when there’s football or rugby on, the big flat screens get most of the attention. They also have a Monday night quiz which is quite good fun and probably feels a bit too much like school to attract a certain type of regular. With regards to food — it’s never really clear when they’re serving and when they’re not so if that’s what you’re after call ahead first.
