I took my family here for Thanksgiving dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was really tasty. The turkey was cooked perfectly(not dry) and the gravy was excellent. Having to order the potatoes as a side item was a bit of a bother as mashed potatoes are always a staple of Thanksgiving dinner. However, they were tasty. The restaurant itself was beautiful. The space is very open and modern. The service was friendly and attentive.

Quite interesting Zaha Hadid setting, food tasty, small helping, expensive for what you get, definitely take the bread if you only want one course. Tasted 2 wines, Chardonnay and Vinho Verde, both so so. So to summarise… convenient for the Serpentine gallery, but don’t make it a destination meal

The first place I have ever frequented to offer eggwhite omelettes! This probably says a fair bit about their main clientele of beautiful people who frequent beautiful places in order to see and be seen, rather than for the quality of the food’s sake. Having said that, I would highly recomment The Magazine for an early breakfast before the crowds arrive. We had the most enjoyable morning, sipping coffee and choosing from a good selection of sweet temptations — cake for breakfast is perfectly OK! They have quite a tasty sounding menu of savoury breakfast items(including the aforementioned omelette). I think I ticked«not suitable for children» when I checked in, and I was wrong. They are perfectly happy accommodating families and don’t seem to mind sticky crumbs strewn all over their elegant pale grey carpets. The perfect start to a day in the park. I have previously been for afternoon tea by which time the restaurant is crazy busy and you are lucky to get a seat on one of their shared tables.

So, this is apparently a new place… here are the pros and cons pros: –great bread and butter –unique architecture cons: –excruciatingly slow service –cold venue –unexciting, inharmonious pseudo-fusion food. –I, French national, had lunch with a German friend, a friend from Singapore. The 3 of us are well travelled, and have tasted a broad range of international food in our lives… We ordered different things and the 3 of us came to the same conclusion: our palates did not enjoy what was in our plates. As a matter of fact, neither I nor my German friend finished our plates. We were even wondering whether what we ate had the potential of making us sick –We will not come back.
