Simply one of my favourite gastro-pubs in the city(and I have never been a huge fan of pubs generally speaking). It doesn’t get overly crowded and still feels comfortable even at its busiest. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good food, and even better for a glass of wine to catch up with friends or family.

Had lunch at this pub, really enjoyed it. Since I’m an American I figured I would order the fish & chips to get the full UK experience. It was delicious. They serve it with tartar sauce and a pea purée. I also ordered ginger beer(non-alcoholic) which was delicious and paired well with the fish(I had two of them). The service wasn’t so great, once we got our food the waiter didn’t come back to our table until the end of the meal. I was wanting to get more tartar sauce but that never happened. Also, the dessert menu can be a bit misleading. We ordered«strawberries and cream» expecting just that. Instead we got a scoop of strawberry sorbet with maybe one strawberry sliced around it for garnish. The waiter was nice and just brought us actual strawberries and cream when we we shared our surprise. The food and atmosphere was good, but I’d rather check out other places before going back. Also, heads up there is a charming book store a few blocks away on the same street I absolutely recommend checking out! #booksrule

We stayed at the Hilton down the street and stopped in based on crowd. All the food was great and service was off the charts. Went back the next night based on the 1st night experience.

Fine time and drinks at The Mitre. We walked past for a couple of evenings then finally dropped in when outlet son met us in London. Very good service and a great environment.

The outside area seemed like a nice place to sit in the face of it but a combination of being the only non smokers and the main road in front meant the experience was far from as pleasant as we had hoped! There were three interesting ales available. The Itchin Watercress was rather good and actually had watercress flavourings. The Twickenham Sundance was a little disappointing in comparison. There were some decent keg choices as well.

Blimey, how times change. In the 1980s this place used to be called the Last Days of the Punjab or something similar, then it became a Rat and Parrot(or Slug and Lettuce) and is now a very grown up gastro-ey type pub in the heart of oh so civilised Holland Park. We popped in for a quick drink before wandering round Holland Park. They have half the pub allocated for dining. The drinks only area was a reasonable size and the interior is very nicely appointed with chesterfields etc. The food did look tasty. A couple of real ales and the usual suspects on tap. I think it could merit more than a quick drink and would return.

A stellar pub to meet friends for a fun night! Great selection of beer and wines, in a relaxed but buzzy atmosphere. The food here is generally of really high quality, but I was let down slightly by last nights beef shin risotto, which was a little too Al dente for my tastes. Our starters of the charcuterie board, fritto misto and saganaki cheese were delicious and well presented. Service was attentive and friendly, and especially accommodating of the lovable Labrador that joined us for the evening– even bringing him a bowl of water.

Good Food. However, they’re licence is 21+ *WARNING* allegedly. This doesn’t seem strictly true. Two people were served next two us that were clearly younger than 21 then two went up and weren’t served. It doesn’t affect me but it’s bad management. Aggressive staff as my wife and I were trying to eat dinner. Poor lads just wanted a pint.

A stylish and spacious Gastro Pub near Notting Hill, but slightly far away from the trendy areas like Portobello road. Came here with my partner for a Sunday brunch, we both got the Sunday roast(beef & pork belly). The beef was slightly tough and the pork was a little too fatty but overall it was a lovely roast. The staff are friendly and the service professional. Nice selection of wine, craft beer and ales(Camden Hells Lager/Pale Ale on tap). The only thing we did not enjoy was the music, unless you’re in to house or «old bar one» mix.

On this Saturday afternoon, I had decided to head to the Notting Hill area of London to see what it was like, and stumbled upon this restaurant on the walk back towards home. I was starving and there really isn’t much else within a few blocks of here, so we sat for a late lunch around 4 pm. There were plenty of tables available, but for some reason I was seated on the leather bench that had been slashed and taped over. Not the best way to be welcomed, but I’ll assume that the tear had just happened and that the seat might be fixed very soon. Anyway, I ordered a burger because — like I said — I was starving and because I like to see how a country does its burgers. This one was ok, quite large and … different. It had a sweet onion relish on it that made it interesting, and not much else. The fries/chips were pretty good, but they really can’t be screwing that up if they want to stay in business. The ‘coleslaw’ was also strange. It didn’t have a lot of taste and what taste it had just wasn’t super delicious. So, not sure that I’d order that burger again, but overall our experience was ok. Their lovely neighborhood and location near Holland Park doesn’t hurt, and the space of the restaurant is very large and comfortable. This seems like an ok place to go for a beer and a simple dish if you’re in the neighborhood, but don’t expect a gourmet dinner or a rowdy sports crowd — expect something somewhere in the middle, which is an odd place to be.

Though it looks inviting, I advise you to stay away. This a pub right? So it should have a good beer selection, but it was the worst selection of commercial junk I have ever average food, at above average prices. The most inattentive wait staff I ever had to endure, we waited 45 minutes for our main courses to arrive, they indeed were tasty but, tiny. I saw the waiter once, when he took our order, he never inquired if we needed more drinks or to ask how the food was. They put a service charge on the bill because they know one in there correct mind would tip. I did like the free WiFi connection, which is excellent! Other wise AVOID this place.

I went to The Mitre for my first experience of having a Sunday roast. Overall, the place was A-OK. Nothing much to write home about. I spend £15 for the pork belly, which was good but not great. The vegetables, potatoes, and popovers were pretty standard, but were seasoned pretty well. Though I would go back to this place again, I would first look for some other restaurants on nearby Portobello Road. On a positive note, it was very easy to get a seat on a Sunday night(about 6pm), so our food came out pretty quickly.

Nice looking pub in a gorgeous neighborhood. Food was decent, but the service was terrible when I was there. I hear this is not usually not the case though. I would give it another shot.

Good pub food. The roast was great served with the usual muffin and the needed gravy :) Service was a bit sloppy. Nice ambiance. and the terrace outside is in a great location. Pity it is soooo busy! Not the cheapest… but I guess the location makes the trick. Really bad they do not accept AMEX :(

We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday roast here. The food was solid, with large portions. Our server was friendly and helpful, and the pacing was relaxed but not too slow. The place was pretty full by 2pm, lots of families with babies and children. It was a bit pricey, but definitely a treat.

Spacious and relaxed. It’s not the most amazing pub in the world but it’s pretty pleasant with a good wine selection.

I’ve been here twice and have enjoyed the food very much. Well prepared and served quickly. The first time I had the pork belly which was tender and delicious. Second time around I had the chicken breast with black pudding, a potato casserole and braised cabbage. Very good, upscale comfort food is what I would call it. If the place is busy it can get quite loud, there was a party in the second time and it was tough to have a conversation. It was Friday night afterall and I’d come to expect that. Despite the bustling nature, our servers were attentive and quick.
