This place is near our home and we just wanted to give it a try. The owner was very busy at first and we had to wait a little more. But he was very friendly and helpful and recommended some dishes for us. When we tried the first starter it was so nice. The following dishes were even better. We really experienced, enjoyed and were filled by these awesome tastes. It was by far the most tasty and delicious food we had in London. It has nice atmosphere with jazz music(little loud) and decoration. We thought it is much better than the typical touristic Indian place. The decoration was not Indian but the taste was very authentic. The prices were very reasonable. We will visit this place again for sure. Highly recommended!!!

Excellent service(the owner raj is one of the friendliest people you’ll meet), excellent food, and a great ambience. The Jazz themed décor and music works surprisingly seamlessly with the delicious Indian dishes, with passion exuding throughout. A local gem, would recommend to all.

Amazing Indian food, friendly fast service and great atmosphere. The owner is a true character, very personable and attentive. He made some suggestions, all of which we enjoyed very much. The jazz playing in the background may be a little loud for some, but for us it just made the atmosphere even more cheerful. All other tables seemed to be enjoying themselves very much. The wine list is a bit varied and very fairly priced. If you enjoy genuine spicy punjabi food, that’s the place to go.

We told the owner what we were looking for and he just designed an entire multi course meal for us with different types of foods and spice levels. Recommended a wine that was great. Really amazing tasty food. Took great care of us. Highly recommend.

Recommended by a friend. This place offers authentic tasty Indian food, with a jazzy chilled out vibe. I never really thought Indian food and Jazz went together, but actually it was really refreshing to go somewhere like this. I’m assuming the owner served us. He was really informative on the dishes, my friend is a vegan so we had to be careful with what we were eating. He was very personal too. Asked us how we were, if we were local, if we had tried certain dishes etc. He even threw a couple of dishes in on the house! The food was really tasty. Normally leaving a Indian restaurant, I feel bloated and full. But I was extremely content despite eating lots! A worth while visit if your in the local area!

This is a quite unique place. An enterprising owner, a jazz CD on repeat play with food well above the other local Indian places — can’t go wrong.

Very good tasty & fresh indian food. The waitors we friendly and we enjoyed the time there very much. Only downside was that they could have heated up the place a bit before opening. it was quite cold there.

This is our favorite Indian place in London at this time, the special dishes are delicious usually the choice of lamb or chicken. we have been here several times and with friends also. when ordering they ask mild, medium or hot and they deliver against that statement. we have not tried a dish we didnt like which for me is impossible. we are very lucky we live close by, but would travel if we moved out of the area, i highly suggest if you like indian food to give this place a try i can be sure you will be very happy. on another note the place is clean and the staff are very polite. they play jazz music which is actually sets a good mood for a dinner out. the only reason why i did not give it 5 stars is that the desserts are a bit lacking, only the choice is ice cream. enjoy the food

A lovely little place just down from Archway station. It’s slightly unusual in that it’s an Indian that plays jazz music — I’ve even seen live jazz bands performing as I’ve walked past. The décor is lovely, if a little dark, the waiters friendly and helpful. The day I visited there was a goat curry on special that was, frankly, delicious. The waiter also recommended we have some daal to go with it, which worked wonderfully. There’s an unusual choice of naan, good selection on the menu, price is average and not too busy. Highly recommended.

I’ve been here several times now. It’s unusual to find a jazz themed Indian restaurant, and makes an interesting change to sitars etc. The walls are decorated with pictures of jazz men, in a sort of dark black and red theme. The food is excellent. I must admit that on my first occasion I thought that the portions looked a little bit small, but I was not able to finish everything, so obviously there must have been just enough. The staff are friendly, but without being in your face. Prices are reasonable for the quality. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who fancies a curry with a difference!

Excellent INdian restaurant with an interesting Jazz theme, ie jazz music(recorded not live) is played, but not too loudly so as to inhibit conversation. The food is excellent, although comparatively expensive for the area. The sort of place I would recommend for a celebration or party, but not for every day eating out. I’m not sure if there is a take-away service but if so it is not obtrusive. I often get put off a restaurant if I am eating in and there is a constant stream of people coming in and out for take aways.

For the first time in my life I’ve seen jazz-style indian restaurant… Red&black deco with some pictures of jazzmans on the walls makes an atmosphere which you cannot find in any other indian restaurant. Service really friendly and food delicious for a decent price. Highly recommend as a(I would say) our little«pearl» among all the places in these area.

Two words. Lamb Phaal. I was phucking crapping flaming bricks after this trip to the JAZZ Sitara. But let’s take it back to the beginnings of this love affair. The name itself rendered me slightly skeptical, passing by this place on my way home… but one rainy evening the housemates and I decided to order some take away. The naan was amazing, along with all the josh rogan, tikki masala, and even some run of the mill vindaloo that I’ve never strayed away from since the days of living in norcal. Delivery was fast, and the complimentary papadoms/chutney were delicious. As mentioned earlier, the only time I’ve actually sat-in and dined here was a night to remember. I was pleasantly surprised by the fusion of jazz and… sitara(appropriate name for the restaurant…). Although the constant need to yell at the top of your lungs to your friends across the table reminded me of trying to communicate in a club, the food was again awesome. We also got complimentary drinks at the end our meal because we managed to finish the Lamb Phaal, although I had to step outside a few times and wipe all the meat sweats off my face…
