Great garden at the back of this quirky, clearly very neighbourhoody, pub. Lovely atmosphere and a fab place to sit on a sunny, summer day!

Stumbled upon this place when having a day out in Highbury and was really impressed! The food and rinks are a good price and the interior of the pub is super comforting. I went for a burger while my companion went for a veggie burger. My burger was HUGE and very succulent and the chips it came with were incredible! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

A great pub that does a good Sunday dinner! The previous time we visited it had been a Sunday evening and the bar staff were handig round bowls of leftover crackling and roasties both were delicious so we decided to visit for Sunday lunch, I have to say if that was a cunning plan to lure more people to lunch then it certainly worked on us! The pub was busy when we got there, with a good mixed crowd. We were seated quickly and the manager was able to recommend a good red to go with our food. Having had a quick scan of what the diners sat nearby were eating we all went for the beef It was excellent, my partner who is a recent convert back from vegetarianism enjoyed it as did my mum who is a bit of an authority on roast dinners. Everything was cooked well the beef was perfectly pink, the Yorkshire pudding home-made and well-risen and there was plenty of gravy too. They also had a couple of very nice real ciders on offer not usually my thing but I really enjoyed these!

A nice pub with a great locals feel to it on North rd Highgate. Managed to get a seat out the front on a hot august evening and enjoyed several pints and a bit of grub with my wife as the sun went down. The food is so so, I wont be rushing back for that but with it dark wood interior and fire and friendly smiling staff I can see it being a great place for a winter drink.

I recommend the Scrumpy Jack. Lovely ambience in here, very friendly and although it often gets busy it’s a nice crowd and not too loud. I like the candles on the tables… although the children in the paintings to the left of the bar freak me out — I bet they come alive at night… Will be back for a Sunday roast after seeing the food reviews below!

Really great staff, friendly and quick — they can actually pour two pints of beer at once — something rare in the UK. The atmosphere is cozy, nice big fireplace and friendly locals. My favourite pub in Highgate by far. AND they have a good size back garden with heat. Something great for us remaining smokers. The Sunday roast lacks a bit but is fairly priced.

Lovely friendly pub with a dark wood interior and a partially covered patio out back. There were 4 ales on, including Waggle Dance which I am more used to seeing in a bottle. I enjoyed a wonderful summer pint of Stonehenge Danish Dynamite. I hope it wasn’t just been brewed for the world cup as it has a great sharp fruity flavour to it and I would like to see it endure. Pub serves food too The toilet soap looks like feta cheese. Probably isn’t though!

Two pubs in Highgate meet the 5 star mark. The Wrestlers and The Flask. The Wrestlers is a real pub with a friendly landlord and friendly staff. They have regulars who always seem to be there and then huge swathes of people like me who pop in every week or two. This is an amazing winter pub with the large log fire and the list of wines as long as your arm. The sunday roast is also great. Get along and have a pint with Martin and the gang

I experienced a fantastic Sunday lunch here recently with friends. We started out at the Flask(I’ll spend more time there the next time), where I met friends but it didn’t last as we had to go to The Wrestlers to meet the rest of the group. This place is very friendly, has a good bar and a wonderful fireplace for just such occasions. While we had to wait 30 minutes for a table, we didn’t mind as the beer was flowing. The fare was typical for a Sunday, beef, pork or chicken with all the fixings. The food was delivered promptly and was quite good. The Wrestlers is a fine neighborhood pub and worthy of a visit. Enjoy. One note, the Bull Pub down the street seems to be closed either due to a sale or some other business reorganization.

A fave for young, moneyed boys and girls from the surrounding area — many of whom had gone to local private schools and haven’t managed to venture any further Pretty big pub with food and a big bar with a big range of drinks. I was here when the smoking ban came into force — and even as a hardened smoker the back room was so disgusting it almost made me want to give up! Not bad place, although my preference would be for somewhere a bit more intimate.

This pub is a fancy pub at the far end of Highgate. It is overpriced but if you want a quiet drink it is perfect as it is off the main shopping street. Small inside, but very warm as it has a roaring fire on cold nights.
