Previous reviewer was lucky with the fire. They didn’t light it for several weeks as a cost cutting exercise, apparently blamed on the area manager. The place was very cold! The draught beer was off but I was told that it is supposed to taste like that You couldn’t make it up! An Ember Inns pub in which Ember Inns has clearly lost interest. Very smart location though! It gets a two star as the barmaid was attractive somewhat brain dead but nevertheless attractive! :-)

I’ll be honest with you the Three Hammers is an Ember inn so the food is pretty much irredeemable. Standard mass market cheap pub fodder. The pub itself is limited in its draught offerings as you would expect but does have Peroni on tap which I like but no ‘proper’ beer options per say. What it does have on a cold day when you have been walking through a blizzard is a roaring open fire which is very nice. The summer offers up a small but pleasant garden area. It also seems that you can regularly find a seat inside because it’s so big. So if you fancy a fizzy lager and a boring burger or salty piece of gammon give it a go. Haute cuisine it isn’t but The Adam an Eve up the road is the place to go for the more gastro experience, The Three Hammers is a serve it cheap and pile it high kinda place only rescued from a 2 star rating by the fact it had a fire to dry the snow from our clothes when we went.

Very cozy pub with wide variety of ales, more than 80 kinds! You can even try some of them and choose the best for your taste. This is very cool if you do not know exactly what kind of ale do you want. The food is also very good, on Wednesday it was Fish Night with some delicious offers. Good pub for everyone but the ale lovers will especially like it.

The 3 Hammers isn’t really a particularly special pub. It’s special to me because I used to come here with my father for a pint before he passed and we had some happy memories here drinking our ale. This place doesn’t have the original ownership as when I went with Dad ages ago, but now it really does some nice food. They do different specials through out the week with the food. There is curry night and grill night and the ongoing 2 for 1 burger special. It’s really easy to get a drink and a good bite in here(the curry is always hot and not too oily) for 10 pounds. I mostly like this pub for sentimental value and the value. The atmosphere itself is quite dark and pretty pub typical, although there are big windows in a some sections to help make the pub brighter.
