Lobster vom Feinsten mit sehr freundlicher Bedienung(aus Barcelona). Perfektes pre-x-mas lunch mit meiner Freundin. Wir gehen wieder hin nächstes Jahr.

I was lucky enough to be brought her when my mother visited me in London. The place is quite pricey, but this is something I would expect when good seafood and fish are served. We both ordered the sea bass that was to be served on shrimp and tarragon risotto. Unfortunately both our dishes were seriously under cooked when we received them. When we pointed this out the restaurant solved the issue very well. They apologized and asked us whether we would like the same dish redone, or whether we wanted to order something else. We decided to wait for another serving. The wait was worth it. When we got new plates the fish was cooked to perfection and they gave both of us an extra piece. The risotto worked really well with the fish as well, so we both left with smiles on our faces.

This is my first review but not my first visit to Wright Brothers. But I have today it’s always a pleasure. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about all of the wonderful food they serve. If you want fantastic food in a relaxed fun atmosphere this is a must stop location.

Sadly I never got to taste the food. I walked in on two separate occasions during a day of shopping around Spitalfields and after a few minutes of being completely ignored by both the staff at the raw bar and several waitresses(who only stared blankly at me), I simply turned around and left. I absolutely cannot stand that type of apathy when there are literally hundreds of restaurants willing to work incredibly hard to welcome and serve a new potential customer. Unfortunately Wright Brothers has lost me as a customer for life(which sucks for them as I eat out 5 – 10 times a week and habitually patronize the same handful of excellent restaurants around London).

This place is a seafood restaurant that goes beyond the old deep fried. Sure you can get fish and chips but the highlights for me are the small plates and starters. My favourites were a delicious(and huge) scallop, octopus and chorizo(a must try), an amazing warm salmon egg and endive salad and a super fresh cerviche. They also have a couple of ‘dressed’ oysters that are really refreshingly yum. They have a special 3pm– 6pm on weekdays where they serve £1 oysters which is worth leaving work early for. Grab a spot at the bar and settle in with a bottle of bubbles or enjoy their great range of beers!

My wife and i had a great experience here because it was a special night for us, but the food was so-so. We were very excited to have some razor clams, but it was very disappointing. We were expecting fresh and simply cooked razor clams drizzled with some olive oil but these were desecrated. It was all chopped up and mixed with some random vegetables. The same goes for the octopus carpaccio, drowned in truffle oil. It was nauseating. Just let the seafood speak for itself! The oysters were very good, but very expensive. Service was great as it is at this price range.

We ordered crab, chips and a bottle of wine. I was surprised that the crab is served cold, I didn’t like that, but the taste was good. The sauce was just some mayo, a bit disappointing. I had some apple crumble for dessert, very good. Don’t think I’m gonna go back though, too expensive and I wasn’t impressed.

Landed there for a surprise birthday party and must say it lived up to it’s good reputation! The seafood was the most fresh tasting I have had in London. We started with a medley of oysters, brown shrimp and whelks followed by mains which ranged from John dory, sole, crab and scallops! Everyone was very happy with their food. My only criticism for the evening was the slow service, I had to get up several times to request them especially to hurry up. It is quite pricey the bill came to an average 70 per head with a few drinks each.

This place is a rip off! I would not go back here again. The portions are tiny and it’s very very expensive. We ordered a plate of fried sea food and we got 3 pieces of squid 3 prawns and the rest were anchovies. The prawns still had the head and feet on then so by the time you took it all off all the batter had come off in ur hands. In addiction I got the feeling the staff were trying to push us to order a bottle of wine even though we repeatedly asked for just a glass on 3 separate occasions.

Really good fresh oysters, had the Irish native oysters from Clarinbridge, lovely, the waiter gave us two jersey oysters to try as a contrast, nice gesture. We shared a brown Dorset crab which was super tasty, and we were given a very useful master class on how to extract the meat from the main body, really helpful. We were treated to a tour of the tanks downstairs, amazing, all the shellfish is alive on site, very interesting. Well worth a visit, great fish, great shellfish and attentive knowledgable staff. And beside my office, my new local!

Sometimes when I go places, I expect to like things, not love them. This was one of those cases… after looking at the menu and hearing the fish board specials, I thought, ok, this will all be fine. In reality, everything was absolutely amazing in its own right and it was kind of surprising in the best way possible that each dish was well thought-out to be a winner and they haven’t filled the menu with easy fluff choices. Do you know what I mean though, you can kind of tell when a chef has their favourites and then they just do some other things to fill some space… We had nearly everything and while I could list and recommend, the menu changes often so I don’t want you to get your hopes up about anything in particular. Just get some oysters and some plates of mains to share with some friends and you’ll be set. It’s on the high-side of reasonable but certainly not inaccessible, you should probably book ahead if you want an actual table but if you’re happy to sit at the bar and chat with your server, then see if they have an open seat.

AMAZING fresh seafood! The oyster bar cold served food was great, matched perfectly by the chef’s delicious daily seafood menu. I had a great time eating by the oyster bar and seeing the food prepared. Recommend trying the large crab(the small isn’t ideal for sharing!), oysters(raw!) and char grilled squid! But if you are undecided or stuck, there are plenty of friendly staff to help you and you won’t be disappointed!
