McDonald’s

I went to Mcdonalds today while at the nearby hospital, on a break between apointments. When I arrived, It was 15 minutes until they started to serve the normal menu. I asked if I could have my Mcrib now, and they told me ‘No — Wait until breakfast is over’, so I did and 2 minutes before, I asked ‘How about now?’, only to receive the same reply. I ordered it in advance only to find out, unlike most Mcdonalds branches, they don’t sell it.
I was really dissapointed that 2 member of staff who I told about me waiting to order a Mcrib never passed this information to me.
I ordered a Sausage and Egg Mcmuffin with no muffin. One thing I didn’t like is they charged me what they would normally charge with a muffin and they didn’t add anything. The sausage was okay but I feel they melted too much cheese on and it ruined it really, the egg wasn’t terrific either
I definitley won’t visit this small Mcdonalds again, it is in a great location but the staff and quality of food just ruins it and in my eyes this place is worthy of a single star, instead of my previous 2 star rating.

This particular mcD’s charges you 10p for every ketchup or 35p for a sweet chilli dip, which I find ridiculous! I used to love mcD’s as a kid, but now that I know how it really is like, I rather have the Subway next door than step in here and be completely ripped for nothing!

One night in my first year back in the days where I had a limitless supply of energy, me and two friends decided to stay up all night. For no good reason. We weren’t even under the influence. We laughed all night long, told stories and got to know each other.
Many giggles later and it was 8am. 1 hour to go until my 9am lecture. I went to my room to get ready and found some newspaper cuttings for free McDonald’s breakfasts that I’d snipped out earlier that week. So, we all trundled across the road to Maccies and enjoyed their ‘healthy breakfast’ menu. The coffee kept me going for a little while, but the porridge was a bit crap. Then they stopped doing it. Ronald — my advice to you would be to stick with what you do best.
It’s bad for you. It’s comfort food. It’s fine once in a while. This is one of the nicer branches. It’s also open on New Year’s Day; Gemini Café is not.

I know it’s wrong on so many levels to do this in a post-​Morgan Spurlock world, but come on, I have to review a Maccy D’s at least once. And believe it or not the big yellow M holds a certain amount of sentimental value for me. Not the clown, he’s always terrified me. When I was a little tot my mother would meet my grandma in Southport to do some shopping and take me along with her, and we’d do lunch at McDonald’s as a treat. Mum carried a little plastic knife in her bag so she could slice a Filet O’ Fish in half. It was my favourite but I was too little to eat a whole one (shows how times have changed, toddlers nowadays probably cram in an entire Big Mac followed by supersized fries) so she’d share it with me.
Decades later and the Filet O’ Fish with extra tartar sauce and soggy, salty fries is still my comfort food of choice for those ridiculously hard times. I’ll give you an example, I turned to it when I had my NatWest nightmare, I turned to it when I was hobbling around on crutches feeling sorry for myself. It’s amazing how food evokes those mumsy feelings of security.
Now, in the world of late night kebabs and drunken polystyrene containers of fries, what better than a McDonald’s which stays open in the wee small hours? This is why Oxford Road’s offering, now inexplicably painted green (stop trying to be a sandwich bar, McD’s, be comfortable with who you are, you’re a greasy junk food joint, get out of that closet!), is so genius. Personally I’d rather munch a Filet O’ Fish or veggie burger when I’m half cut than dregs of meat that have been spinning round for hours. I may only have one every blue moon, but if I’m not depressed, it’s usually because I’m tipsy. Hence why this is my favourite Maccy’s venue.

What can you say?
In a make believe world where the salads turn out to be more deadly than the cheeseburgers and the shakes don’t even wobble who are you supposed to trust.
A terrifying flame haired clown with murderous eyes?
How about a midget dressed up as a French burglar?
I’m loathin’ it.
