It’s nice to have another coffee option on this part of the Oxford Road corridor. Although I do prefer independent coffee shops, there is something to be said for the familiarity of Starbucks when you’re tired or in a rush — you know exactly what you’re going to get. It’s in a great location for hospital staff at the MRI, RMCH, St Mary’s and the eye hospital, and has super opening hours to reflect the shifts that these staff work. Also NHS staff and medical/nursing students get a 10% discount if you show your ID — hurrah! It has a clean, uncluttered atmosphere inside, and would be a good place to bring your laptop and get a bit of work done. However my one bug-bear with this place is that every time I’ve been, it’s been freezing cold and I end up clinging to my mug for warmth! Turn down the air-con guys!

A worthy 5 star Starbucks which is located at the City Labs just off Oxford Road, near to the Universities and almost opposite the Whitworth Art Gallery. I loved the modern décor of the place with plenty of comfortable arm chairs everywhere. This Starbucks was really busy when we was there and this location also accepts Starbucks Rewards. The Wifi was a bit hit and miss and wouldn’t connect properly but apart from that a great Starbucks!

If my experience with this Starbucks today is anything to go by, the old«Cold drinks» is gone, today I was served by a new barista and I also spoke to what I think was the manager, both staff appeared to be very nice. My Caramel Machiato, was actually very warm and good quality, I enjoyed the new blend of Colombia coffee, which the new barista brought to my attention while I was speaking to her about my order. I felt this new blend was very nice and I enjoyed my drink from here, it is probably the best drink I have got from this store out of 5 visits, with 3 drinks being cold. I was estatic to see that they have a variety of Christmas produts at 50% off including flavouring syrups and mugs. They may of only had one bottle of flavouring syrup left but I picked up a Gingerbread syrup which makes a large amount of drinks(it is 375ml) for under 2 pounds, at 50 percent off this is terrific value even the normal price of £3.85 is still good value for how many drinks it makes compared to the in store price and the quality. So it seems this store is on the mend, great prices for christmas stuff, better drinks, nice staff, a good location(comments on location in more detail are in previous reviews), I don’t want to go in that much detail repeating myself in what I have said in previous reviews, but this is a nice, new modern store I really want to like and I am begining to like it again.
