Of all the Nandos in Manchester, this one is my favourite. The venue is by far the most atmospheric, I am happy to return time after time with friends for a good(if slightly predictable) Nandos meal. The décor, gives a much more realistic Portuguese atmosphere than some of the more gaudily decorated branches in the chain. The food is excellent value for money(as are the bottomless soft drinks — heaven!), and of a high quality, which makes the decision to eat here slightly less onerous than it might otherwise appear.

It is hard to go wrong with Nandos, so if you are a fan, then you will not be disappointed with this one. I have visited twice within the past month, once for a quick bite before a gig at Manchester Academy, and a second time with friends visiting Manchester. This establishment is vibrant and has a variety of visitors, mostly due to being situated amongst the student populous and amidst the Oxford Rd corridor. I went for the usual butterfly chicken burger with hot sauce and piri-salted fries. Overall, very enjoyable visits.

Ive never had bad wings here, I get the plain and try all the sauces. And I also had a bite of carrot cake this time-which is off the charts good!

Simply love Nando’s! Great place to eat with family and friends. Speedy service! Great quality food! Half chicken with chips and corn, yes please! Free sofa refils! What’s not to love. Nando’s have a loyalty card too. The more visits to any Nando’s and you get free food. Who can complain about that. A fab place to eat for all you chicken lovers. :)

Nando’s just off Oxford Road is in a very busy location(student area) of Manchester. The décor inside this restaurant is unusually different to a standard Nandos. There is one problem we encountered which is if you are in the middle of the restaurant going towards the back, you may not get a mobile phone signal and there is no free Wi-Fi which is needed. Food was to the usual quality standard.

Lovey food. Always found Nandos good for group diners too. Regular discount voucher offered. Only downfall was the lack of phone signal or a wifi option, though not a major as after-all we were here for food :)

This particular branch has an unusual but lovely décor for Nandos with a Moroccan or Middle Eastern theme. Local parking meters and car parks around. Food of usual Nando’s standard, having gone for my usual spice of Mango and Lime! Mmmmmm. One downside is the loss of mobile phone signal once entering the building with NO option of free wifi… So my review was delayed until I arrived back home ;)

Nice people and very nice chicken! The garlic hot source is a bit strange for me. Tried medium roast chicken and lemon chicken wings today. The side is spicy rice and salad.

No wonder that everybody should try Nando’s before they die! It’s an amazing experience! I love their chicken wings and corn. Coated with their peri peri with garlic, feeling a party inside of your mouth with different layers and textual. If you haven’t tried yet, what are you waiting for??? Go there and try it!

The location is good and is great for everyone, especially students. However, it can get incredibly busy in the evening(especially on the weekends) so if you want to get in then either get down early or book a table if you can. Also, the service in this particular Nando’s isn’t the best. I used to come to this branch a lot because I used to live down the road from it plus myself and my flatmate were Nando’s addicts. There were 3 consecutive occasions where I received bad service. The first time, I came in with two of my coursemates. They had ordered a lot of food(e.g. chicken wings) whilst I ordered a chicken breast fillet burger, Their food arrived within 20 minutes whilst I had to wait almost 45 minutes for my food with no apology or explanation as to why there was delay. Also, my food was luke warm. The second time, the same happened, I had to wait half hour for my food to arrive. The third time was the final straw for me because I went in with my flatmate and when I went to order, the guy who served me made fun of my accent which was not only offensive but extremely unprofessional. The same thing with the food arrival time happened(40 minutes) but they decided to put an add-on by getting my order wrong as I only wanted cheese on my burger. They brought out a burger that had salad and mayo when I specifically said I only wanted cheese. The same guy who mocked my accent brought my food and tried to make out I wanted salad/mayo on it and I said no and showed him the receipt which said cheese only on it. He then walked off and redid my order. Another 40 minutes later, I had my order come through. It had cheese on it but they also put mayo on it when I asked I only wanted cheese. The same guy apologised but I said that this was unacceptable how I’ve had to wait an extremely long time for my food and that my order has been done wrong twice. He then stormed off and got my order right third time round. When he finally brought the right order out for me, he did not apologise for the error. In fact, he just dumped the plate down on the table. Annoyed by this and his lack of professionalism, I told him that once I have finished my meal, I would like to speak to a member of management to which he responded«Fine» and walked off. After my meal, I asked to speak to the manager so I made my complaint and said how I have received 3 consecutive bad services here. The manager to be fair handled my complaint well as I was pretty aggressive in my manner because I was frustrated by the lack of service and the attitude from the member of staff being despicable. He then went off and brought me vouchers for 2 free meals and 2 free drinks. I stopped coming to this Nando’s for a while because of this and I went to other branches(mostly Spinningfields as I have a friend who works there). Once university started again in September, the service improved and the food order arrival was at a more reasonable time of 20 minutes. As time went on, the service began to decline again and new members of staff were hired who were lazy and purely incompetent. I went into Nando’s one lunchtime and the place was pretty quiet yet it took them over half hour to bring me my food. During this time, I observed two members of staff standing by the wall talking to each other when they should have been cleaning tables and checking to see if food was set on the plates and ready to deliver to the customers. The last time I went in was a few weeks ago and it took half hour for my food to arrive when it was again quiet and I asked one of the other members of staff to chase up my order for me and informed them that two of the staff(I even pointed them out) were just standing not doing anything when they could have been delivering my food. She didn’t apologise for the delay but she did go and chase up my order. I went in this evening as I fancied a Nando’s and guess what happened? They got my order wrong and they took over 30 minutes to make my order. It couldn’t be more ridiculous because it’s a Friday night and it was very quiet in there for once. If you decide to come to this Nando’s, I can almost guarantee you will see half the staff messing about or standing around doing nothing when they should be clearing tables(I’ve seen tables full of plates and being left like that for long periods of time while there are people waiting to be seated) or going to see if there is food waiting to be taken out to customers(again, I’ve seen food stacked up and being left there for ages). I have made a formal complaint not just to the manager of the store, but I will be filing a complaint to Head Office. I would advise you go to a different Nando’s in Manchester. I will NEVER come here again!

Ok, there aren’t many Nando’s around the country ive not visited, well, actually thats a lie, apparently there are about 240 of the restaurants around the country, but when it comes to Nando’s in Manchester im pretty well experienced. Out of all of them in this city, this one is my least favourite, in fact the only positive things I can say about the place is its location, just off Oxford Road, makes it easy to get to from the Tram(get off at St Peters SQ) or Train(Oxford Road) and then its a 5 min walk and there is plenty of off street parking available close by. We had quite a wait for a table and granted it is in a pretty busy location, right next to the BBC building, took about 15 mins for us to get a table and then once seated, couldn’t remove our coats as the heating had broken, when its minus 3 outside, not even peri peri nuts are going to warm you up enough. The staff then forgot my drink and I had to endure queuing up again in order to finally get my glass of Rose, although i did get a free upgrade from a medium measure to a large measure. Which I then quickly downed as well as wolfing down my mango and lime chicken pitta, as I fast losing the feeling in my toes due to the arctic temperature inside. I may use this restaurant again for its Take Away service, when I can take advantage of the evenings free street parking, but that is all.

Because I am ‘down with the kids’,(and was also hungover and craving large pieces of chicken), I decided today to finally pay Nando’s a visit. And you know what? I’m really glad I did. Nando’s specialise in serving up tasty, inexpensive and unpretentious fast food, most of mainly consists of chicken products(although you can get some beef-based treats and vegetarian options there as well). My half a chicken was deliciously moist and spicy, whilst their garlic piri-piri sauce which I doused on my chips was so good I could have drunk it right out of the bottle. My boyfriend’s chicken burger looked delicious too — I say ‘looked’ because he refused to allow me to have a bite of it because he wanted it all for himself. It was that good apparently. I was also pretty impressed with the range of side dishes that Nando serve as well — you get two ‘standard’ sides per meal, or one ‘posh’ side(which consists of Sweet Potato Mash, Ratatouille and other delights). These aren’t just chips and spuds either — you can also get corn, vegetables or the delightfully named ‘macho peas’ which I ordered just because I liked the name. Best of all, Nandos also serve pasteis de nata, my favourite Portugese sweet treat. These little custard tarts were just the thing to round off my meal, and I left feeling very full and very satisfied indeed. I’ll definitely be returning here next time I need to satiate my hangover with an injection of dirty chicken.

I like Nando’s on Chester Street because it’s on the way home and it’s a great after uni treat. Peri peri chicken and chips and coleslaw, not too spicy, bobs your uncle, completing a long hard day. This Nando’s is always really busy because it’s a halal Nandos, good isn’t it. The chains can cater for your religious needs too. Like my other Nando’s review however, I feel that it’s tasty, but it’s too hyped up too, it’s chicken and chips at the end of the day. Fastfood prettyfied with the peri peri chicken bit and all the fancy sauces. It’s still delicious nonetheless.

Of all the Nandos in Manchester, this one is my favourite. The venue is by far the most atmospheric and private to eat in, and for that reason, I am happy to return time after time with friends for a good(if slightly predictable) Nandos meal. The Restaurant is lit very effectively, and, when combined with the décor, gives a much more realistic Portuguese atmosphere than some of the more gaudily decorated branches in the chain. The food here is also excellent, and prepared freshly, in full view of the customer, which always bodes well in a chain like Nandos. The food is excellent value for money(as are the bottomless soft drinks — heaven!), and of a high quality, which makes the decision to eat here slightly less onerous than it might otherwise appear. The staff here are some of the friendliest waiting staff I have come across in Manchester. I had one experience, when I was sat at the back of the restaurant with a group of friends, all of us ravenous after a long, long day(this was at about 11pm), and the staff stayed open for us, cooked for us and allowed us to sit and chat whilst they closed up. What more can you ask for?

I once worked at Nandos(although not this one) so I can actually vouch for the superior quality of the ingredients used, given that it is essentially a fast food restaurant. Most of the ingredients are fresh and delivered to the store on the day of sale, or only a day or two before, and attention is paid to the cooking, and putting together of, the meals served. I will also admit that unlike the other food service establishments I have worked at(I am revealing here the high quality of my CV) I have actively sought out a meal from Nandos after I had finished working there. In summary, I am not a Nandos snob and, in fact, enjoy the taste of Nandos and was even driven to buy a bottle of their peri-peri sauce from Sainsbury’s(even though it does sit in my cupboard completely unused). I feel I need to qualify myself only to say that I did not enjoy the experience of eating at the Arndale branch. In retrospect I could have picked a quieter time to visit, lunchtime during a school holiday was probably the busiest occasion I could have chosen. If you want to see how good the service at a restaurant really is, though, this is the time to do it. We were told there would be a wait for a table and while this was fine(the restaurant was very busy) we weren’t provided with menus(of which there was a clear stack, next to the welcoming podium thingy). We were then passed over by a number of other groups, again not an issue if the groups arriving are large enough to occupy one of the bigger tables but seating a table of three who have just turned up before a table of two who have been waiting fifteen minutes just seems bad practice. When we were finally shown to a table it was very dirty(although it had been given a cursory wipe before we sat down there were a lot of bits of other peoples food still on there). Once we had ordered food it was an almost forty minute wait before it arrived and when it did it was honestly not even warm anymore, clearly our wait was because we had been forgotten rather than because any backlog of orders. The food itself was except for the temperature standard Nandos fare, which is to say it was overpriced grilled chicken marinated in spicy sauce. I’m not saying don’t do Nandos, just I wouldn’t recommend you did it here — especially when it’s busy.

I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who dislikes Nando’s! Nando’s is loved and liked by all fellow human beings! If you like chicken, you are bound to Love IT here! Nando’s with it’s grilled chicken with extreme talent and the peri-peri effects seems to win all! Just having the chips with the peri-peri salt is mouth-watering enough! Their very inovative wide selection of sauces from Garlic peri peri to Wild herb peri peri to extra chilli, all makes your meal another level up! I love the Wild Herb sauce, that I have a huge bottle of it home to go with literally everything! They also do burgers and wraps and cute kiddie meals. The place’s ambience is great with a very portugese feeling to it, slightly urbanised. The fro-yo’s are absolutely amazing and should be ordered by all! I’m a big Nando’s person!

I like Nando’s but I have to say I’ve had two bad experiences here. What happens is: You order and sit down. So far so good. Then 3 minutes later they’ve cooked your chips but not your chicken(chicken takes longer don’t you know). They’ve also prepared your bun which can be done in a couple of minutes. Then they put your bun and chips onto your plate. In plain view of you at your table. Then you wait 20 minutes(until the chicken is cooked), they put the chicken onto your bun. Then you eat a hot burger, in a slightly hard bun, with a pile of freezing cold soggy chips. Its still Nandos though.

This Nando’s sells all the chicken burgers, chicken pittas, chicken wings, bean burgers and mushroom and halloumi burgers(yum) with all the marinades that every other Nando’s does. Thumbs up. I came here once with a friend in the middle of winter. I’m not a girly girl who complains about the cold, but it was bloody freezing in there. We had to keep our coats and scarves on for the entire meal. Thumbs down. However, I came with another friend. She only eats Halal meat so this is one of the only Nando’s in town she can eat at in. Thumbs up. I’ve never queued for longer than 10 minutes at this Nando’s, unlike the ones in the Printworks and Arndale Centre which often have long queues. Thumbs up. They have seating for when you’re in the queue and comfy booths to eat in, if they’re not already taken. Thumbs up. So with 4 thumbs up and 1 thumbs down, this Nando’s gets 4 stars.

You know, what, yes. Yes, I AM giving Nando’s 5 stars. Yes, I love fine dining and posh nosh. Yes, I am a snob. Yes, I do hate eateries that allow children. And yes, I am not a fan of having to fetch my own cutlery and sauces. So why do I even go to Nando’s, let alone give it 5 stars? Well, because it’s great, and this is why: — the food, first and foremost, is always tasty. The chicken is never dry and the marinades are lush. Especially mango & lime. Nom nom nom. — the olives. I don’t know where they get them from, but they are easily in my top 5 olives of all time. Consistently awesome, and they have those cloves of pickled garlic that(gross, I know) I love. — the service. Although it can grate that you know they’re trained to come to your table approximately 15 minutes into the eating, and say ‘is everything OK?’ there’s none of the forced friendliness of, say, Wagamama. Plus, if you want to be left alone, you just take the chicken-on-a-stick down. Why do I love this particular Nando’s? Well, it’s close to home, which is always a bonus, but it’s also one of the nicest Nando’s I’ve been to(and I have been to most of em, did I mention, I love Nando’s?). The décor is really lovely, and if you’re lucky you can grab a booth. The booths are great, and easily seat six. Man, I love Nando’s. Especially this one. The staff here seem more attentive and efficient, and its location just away from Oxford Road means it’s quieter than some, though there’s usually about a 10 minute wait on a busy night. It’s not posh or fancy, but it’s not Maccy D. It’s a good place to go if you just think«I’m hungry, I want something tasty, but not too challenging» and you like chicken, of course.

Located opposite the MMU science building on a side street adjacent to the BBC, this outlet is always busy attracting students and city dwellers alike. Nandos is a Portuguese restaurant started off my South Africans, I get told this by my South African boyfriend everytime we eat there. If you like spicy hot then you’ll like Nandos, i stick to the subdued lemon and herb! Chicken is well cooked and the range of starters and sides is great, not just chips or jacket spud– You can have corn on the cob if you fancy! Free soft drinks refills, and you can get take-out. Décor is warm and inviting.
