This place is more of a traditional pub than a trendy bar. Tucked away near the university library, it isn’t the easiest bar to find. There are generally a regular crowd of people who drink here and the atmosphere is pretty good. Not a place for a drunken night out but ideal for a more relaxed few drinks. Can get packed during the footy though so get there early.

This pub is off the beaten track away from the hustle bustle of Osborne Road– great if you want to avoid the drunken crowds on a Friday night but still buzzy and popular.
Avoid it when there are sport games on (unless you are going for that very reason) as it gets far too crowded.
They claim to have a happy hour but when you press the button, the screen seems to unfailingly show ‘full price’ and hardly ever ‘half price’ or ‘free’!
It’s the perfect place to head to if you live further towards town in the Jesmond area as it’s a lot closer than Blanc and Berlise.
There is a reastaurant next door if you get hungry– so not far to walk for a meal…
