Bay Hotel

Stayed in a single room last weekend for two nights while attending a friend’s wedding. Booked a single room for a fairly decent rate — less than £60 a night — and was upgraded to a single room with a view which I imagine is probably not overly uncommon. The view was fantastic and the room, though small, was well-​appointed. My bed was a bit too soft for my liking — in fact it felt a bit like a hammock — but overall it was a nice place. Free Wi-​Fi was a bit slow, but serviceable and generally fast enough to watch netflix albeit pretty low res.
Lots of coupons and stuff for spa service and the like — obviously a cash grab — but they’re not pushy about it and the service was overally very good! Would definitely stay there again if I’m ever in Newquay for some reason…

We recently stayed at this Hotel and overall we enjoyed our time there. We had travelled down from Scotland, some 11 hours by a scheduled coach tour. Prior to arrival I telephoned to see if there were any rooms with a sea view available, but was informed that all were taken. On arrival though, we were delighted to find that we had been allocated such a room. Maybe my phone call helped? The room was small but complete, although there were no biscuits! Oh whoe! The ensuite was also very tight with the toilet seat positioned almost under the sink. Never-​the-​less, the shower was good and we were very comfotable. Now as a poor sleeper I found the room fairly quiet, but I stayed awake listening to the the sea. Very romantic. We were overlooking the Fistral surfer beach and had a view all the way up.
The food promised more than it presented. It sounded good and looked good, but often it was lacking in some way. Sometimes cold and dry. The Coach party we were with had similar issues.
The staff were all very attentive and they tried to help to rectify any issues. The Reception personnel were very helpful too. This was one of the best organised allocation of rooms on arrival by the Reception Team.
All in all a good experience and we would go back to this Hotel as individual guests. Coach trips are often less well provided for when it comes to food and this should be addressed by all Hotels.

This hotel is a fantastic place to stay if you are visiting Newquay.
The hotel itself had only just had a brand new spa added to it when I stayed there end of last year, and the bar and restaurant looked as if it had been refubished. Very Trendy.
The rooms needed some slight attention to the décor and were quite basic but the view over fistral beach was excellent. And really handy to location if your intrested in taking up surfing.
The SPA, well was almost to die for — Fantastic and I think is what made this hotel and pleasure to stay in. Also an excellent range of gym equipment to use during your stay.
FOOD– I stayed for breakfast which the food was above standard, was range to choose from as most hotels — hot buffet, cold buffet (cereals, fruit, toast, fry-​up, croissant).
Overall I rate this hotel ⁴⁄₅ as I think it was a pleasure to stay in, due to Spa mainly & location. But for the price I paid was very competitive to that in the area for the time of year and would definately visit again when I am next due for a break away! Recommended.
