Rico’s Italian Restaurant

We had booked a table of 13 a month in advanced for Christmas Eve at 9pm. We arrived but weren’t seated until 9:50pm because our table wasn’t ready. None of the staff apologised and tried to fix the issue by giving us a free starter…

I have been eating at Rico’s for 20 years… I love it! Best lasagne in the Fylde — served piping hot, nice and tomatoey and cheesey. The speciality mussels in garlic and wine sauce are delicious too. Great atmosphere (for groups and families), good choice of pizzas and pastas on the menu and great house wine, all reasonably priced. Rico and the staff are attentive and efficient, even when it is crazy busy. Shame the dipping sauce for the breadsticks has changed, it used to be a very tasty appetiser.

Loved this place. Great friendly service, creative menu with some original dishes to truly make your mouth water! By no means your average Italian! Recommended!

Always a nice place to eat with informal dining or special occasions. If it is a special occasion, you will be made a fuss of by having your celebration recieve the trumpets and clashes of the sybols in a congo, with the staff serenading you at the table. Not good for those secret BIG birthdays if you’re trying to keep it quiet, I suppose. The food is very varied and fairly competitive but always has an excellent atmosphere. No booking required but you must be prepared to wait for a table of sometimes upto an hour at busy times.

Great restaurant, with excellent service. The food is well worth waiting for, although it can take up to an hour to get a table on busy nights. Good for small groups of friends as has a brilliant atmosphere.

A fantastic Italian restaurant offering a wide menu and specials board.
It is a popular place to dine and has an excellent reputation amongst locals and visitors to the town.
The kitchen is open off the dining area and it’s great to see one of the owners there working and making sure that food is always of an excellent standard.
As mentioned, the stairs are steep, but they are wide enough for 2 people if you need a helping hand.
Car parking is available both outside and in the main car park next door which is free in the evenings.

There are 2 problems though — it is up a steep flight of stairs, and you cannot book a table unless there is a big party of you.

A good family place, good choice of pizza pasta and traditional Italian dishes, prices are reasonable and they are a friendly bunch.

Great family restaurant with a huge choice of pizza, pasta and speciality dishes. I would always reccommend checking the specials for seafood treats — my king prawns in a provencale style sauce last night were delicious.
This place is popular with locals, and can get very busy. You can only book for parties of five or more. The atmosphere is great, and if you do have to wait for a table and the small bar area is full, you can do as I do and pop across the road to the Golden Ball for a quick drink to pass the time.
This is not really the place for a romantic dinner, especially at weekends as there are always lots of familes and groups, although you can usually grab a quiet window table during the week.
Be warned though, this place is not easliy accessible for those less able — there is a steep flight of stairs up to the restaurant which usually poses a problem for me on the way out after sampling the wine list and liquers!
