Strand Tea Rooms

This place needs to review is staff choice. My family and I only wanted a quick coffee, and sandwich, but this seemed to be too much for the gentleman serving. I have met joints of beef with more people skills! His rude, intimating and slightly aggressive manner ruined our day, and I STRONGLY suggest that the management of this place SERIOUSLY reviews this staffs interaction with customers.
I am only giving one star, as the place seems nice from outside!

This is a very unusual place, service is slow to non-​existent and the décor looks about 30 years old. However, the snack I had was fine and reasonably priced. It sits in a lovely spot and with some tlc and customer focus could do much better

Visited on the first sunny day of the year. Crowds everywhere — but not here! We found out why when we sat down. An 80 year old waitress (Mrs Overall?) took our order. The table cloths and cutlery were dirty. They had run out of chips, cheese and ice cream. The food was just about palatable, and we were charged £15.00! Are we mad? We had a ploughman’s (ham, as there was no cheese) fish and chips (without the chips, as they had run out) and a pot of tea. How does this place stay in business?
