This isn’t part of the famous breakfast club chain but it’s just as yummy and half the price. We were looking for venues to eat in in an unfamiliar area and stumbled upon breakfast club. With just half an hour to spare before it closed(it’s only open till 3pm) we sped to the restaurant to find it bustling with customers. The menu is extensive with what must be around 50 items including a specials menu and loads of veggie options. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich(£6.50) which was dripping with a ridiculous amount cheese. The order also came with a pot of slightly salty tomato soup to dip the sandwich in. Overall the breakfast club has amazing hangover food in a homely environment. Portion sizes are huuuuge too!

Great breakfast, with great vegetarian options! My husband and I really enjoyed our meals. I liked that the veggie sausage/alternatives were not Quorn products, and seemed to be homemade. Their American pancakes are pretty good, but a little different(more cakey). There is so much on the menu, and all the food around us looked amazing. I can’t wait to explore more of their menu! The veggie burger, looked really good! I thought their lattes were okay. Also, I find that breakfast is so expensive in England. In the U.S. breakfast is usually a cheap meal. Also, space is a little tight, especially in front of the entrance.

Love to meet up with friends here, welcoming atmosphere with good food and coffee. Can get busy on a weekend but usually quieter during the week.

I almost want to write a bad review to stop people from coming to this yummy place! The menu is huuuuuuge but so many amazing options… only reason for knocking one star off the queuing issue — puts me off going, would be better if there was a designated place /bar to actually sit and wait for a table to become free. Eggs benedict is the bomb.

I love the food here! The menu is extensive and has some really scrumptious french toast. Recently my friends and I went for brunch. The wait for a table on a Saturday morning was about 30mins, not bad. We ordered our food and drinks, now here is where my issue lies. 3 of us ordered smoothies and 1 ordered a diet coke. We got or smoothies in about 5 mins. The one who ordered the diet cole took 20 mins and we had to ask 2 different servers to get it. After a 40 minute wait for our food the waitress tells us the kitchen«lost» our ticket and then asked if we still wanted our food!!! Ummmm, yes! Why would we wait 40mins for our food to then decided we weren’t hungry anymore. They did discount our food which was nice but the service leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Great food brilliant prices busy but well run. If you are indecisive the number of choices could blow your mind. Tried all different things on the menu and all have been good, seem to very proud of the homemade beans.

Brunch is quickly becoming one of my favourite things to do with friends during the weekends. The Breakfast Club is my pick of the St Albans offerings. The menu is quite daunting if I’m honest. I haven’t counted but there must be over 50 options to choose from including various English breakfasts, American pancake stacks, English pancakes, eggs benedict/florentine, rostis, waffles, wraps, and lighter options too. It’s good to have an idea of what sort of thing you’d like before you arrive, but you really can’t go wrong with any choice. You will struggle to finish it though as the portions are massive! This place isn’t without it’s down sides though. It’s located outside of the town centre near to City train station. It’s much better to walk as otherwise you’ll need to park on a nearby street. It gets very busy. You will probably be ok as a couple, but groups will have a bit of a wait as it’s only a small place. Unfortunately there’s not really any waiting space though so you may have to stand outside(fine on a sunny day but not so great if it’s raining). I’ll keep going here though. I’ve only had a few of the options so far ans still need to try the pancakes!

What a great breakfast menu. God, I miss the states. Fluffy pankcakes and waffles with fresh fruit and maple syrup, bloody marys, mimosas … that’s what a brunch should be! We didn’t have to wait for a seat but they were fairly busy. We waited a while to get our order in and I had to ask for a glass of water three times. Another 15 minutes to get our bill/pay our bill. THe servers looked harassed/fazed, but it sounds like it’s usually busier than what we saw so you’d think it wouldn’t be such an issue. They didn’t appear to take it out directly on the patrons but it all seemed very thinly veiled annoyance. In any case, the food was excellent(though my waffles were a bit short on the maple syrup) and delivered hot. Go for it, just be aware of wait times for both a seat and your food.

The best Eggs Benedict you will ever have, I challenge anyone to find better! The service is good 90% of the time.

Superb place. The service, décor, atmosphere, quality of ingerdients and taste are all amazing. It was recommended to me by a friend and I didn’t believe how good it was until I went myself. They do absolutely everything, even the American pancakes with bacon which is brilliant. Always busy when I’ve gone, only downside is parking is a bit taxing.

We had a breakfast on a Saturday morning and we were quite lucky that we got a table for four. But nevertheless the service was fast and friendly. The vegetarian full-english was one of the best I ever had, because the sausage was not a soy– or wheat-sausage, it was a delicious homemade one. Also the selection is great. We definitely come back!

I should have realised how the morning would go when the harrassed waitress abruptly pointed out that there were other people waiting so I should stand outside until she was ready We had been recommended to try the Breakfast Club by a friend so went in with high hopes, but were thoroughly disappointed by the slower than slow service, and high prices for what ultimately was a fairly standard breakfast. Part of our order was forgotten and when I spilt my coffee(which was my fault I agree) I was left to clear up the mess myself with the two small napkins we had, which meant I had coffee dripping onto my dress for the rest of the meal. Disorganised, overpriced, and OK food. Think I’ll stick to the greasy-spoons. At least there you get what you pay for.

To charge these prices, I would expect something special for breakfast. Did I get it? NO. The draw of this place is the charm of the exterior and the St. Alban’s mummy and daddy poo buggy brigade who have more money than sense. The homemade baked beans were nice. The sausage was not. It’s tightly packed, not very spacious. The street is narrow due to the amount of parked cars. Travel on foot to get here.

I have had lunch here twice. When first viewing the menu I thought it looked pricey, however the portions are large and I would say good value for money especially when you take into account the quality of the food(e.g. homemade hash browns and baked beans). Service was fine on both occasions we ate here. We have also tried a home delivery and for this I would give five stars without question. Quality was excellent, portions were large and it was definitely good value for money.

Fantastic food(breakfast and lunch) in shabby-chic cool surroundings. Only downside for my wife and I is given away by the parking bay of prams usually parked outside! OFten a little too kiddy for us which is a shame because the food must be wasted on them! We would go far more often otherwise.

Slow slow service, expensive and just a bit boring. It feels like the owner looked at the hundreds of generic cafes in London, tried to pull the best bits together, but ultimately ended up with much of the same. The food is good, although both times I have been the service has been very slow, even for something like a cofee! It’s certainly not the cheapest either, everything given the tag of ‘free range’ which adds a premium to the cost — personally, I couldn’t taste the difference! Friendly bunch in there though!

You if have read my other reviews you may have gathered by now that I am quite a brunch fan. This little place comes up trumps on that front too, but never fear you brunch haters, lunch is also available and now you can have afternoon tea with homemade cakes also. The menu is quite extensive which for me can always be a little worrying but each time I have eaten here the food has always been freshly prepared and rather delicious even if sometime the service is a tad slow. The full English is good and super hearty, but I prefer the eggs Benedict with maple smoked bacon. This place runs with London pricesa touch on the costly side for St Albans custom but the service is friendly and accommodating and the place is very family friendly, all pluses in my book.
