Thanks Alyn for your heads up on the Blue Ball Walton on the Hill. The refurbishment was certainly needed, and I will get down there next year.

The Blur Ball has recently opened after a major refit. The bar has been extended at the back to make a larger restaurant area. The garden has also been relandscaped with huts for private parties. The bar has the usual good choice of beers but I can’t comment on the food as it is outside my price range.
The staff were friendly enough so I recommend it if you have deep pockets.
