Sad to hear Craig and Sally’s is closed. We would go there every year when we visited St. John. It would take us 4 hours to ferry to Red Hook and then grab a taxi to Frenchtown. We would always go hungry so that the food would taste better. A sad day.

We fell in love with this place. Utterly charming and the food is the best I have ever had. I had the triggerfish, it was absolutely delicious. Being a huge crème brûlée fan I tried their raspberry Godiva one, it was by far the best I have ever had! Such a warm and pleasant atmosphere, you should definitely give it a try! It has the feel of a local restaurant but with world class cuisine. I have traveled the world quite a bit and I must say it hardly gets better than this! Hope you enjoy!

In an island filled with mediocre restaurants, Craig & Sally’s is as good as any you will find anywhere. The ono and trout were both fresh and delicious and the patatas bravas where to die for. In particular, the savory cheesecake with a muchroom ragout was novel and innovative and its delicate flavors were very unexpected considering the unassuming locale. Overall, great service and great food. While it is a bit pricey, it is well worth it!

The worst experience my husband & I have ever had. My husband’s steak was so tough he couldn’t cut it, we told the waitress & the owner came over. He threw the menu at my husband & told him there was nothing wrong with his steak! Then he went to the kitchen & came back with a piece — he couldn’t cut it ether. We should have walked out, but we were so stunned we didn’t ever think of it. Terrible.

We really didn’t have trouble finding this restaurant as others have, but it’s really in a very sketchy neighborhood. I was glad we just had a junky rental car! The restaurant itself is very interesting. There are wines from all over the world everywhere, but the place needs some serious updating. It’s dark and looks like it’s probably very dusty! The service was just ok, the food was very good and the wine list was amazing! The prices were very good compared to other places we ate on the island especially for the quality of food, but I really wouldn’t go out of my way to go here again. Neither my husband nor I were made to feel that comfortable. It wasn’t that busy the night we went, but the servers really didn’t make us feel welcome.

I went there about 1 month ago, so I don’t remember all the dishes we ordered. All I remember that Manager was so nice and Braised Pork Cheeks was fantastic. I and my husband have been to pretty nice restaurants in NYC and we both thought Craig and Sally’s could beat many of them. If you ever go to St. Thomas, please try this place. And do not forget to make reservations.

We went to Craig & Sally’s based on their Unilocal ratings and this was our favorite meal of the week, by far. We loved the décor as soon as we walked in(dark wood bar, soft lighting, walls of wine bottles) and the food is just amazing. The menu changes every day, but one of their signatures is always on there — you must try the Eggplant Cheesecake(I don’t even like eggplant and loved this!). All four of us loved our appetizers, entrees and desserts.

Our first night ever in the Virgin Islands; and magic was in the air, helped immeasurably by dinner at Craig and Sally’s. We’ve been global travelers since the late 70’s, and this restaurant ranks in the Top 10 of all for us. The service — thank you, Andrew — was exceptional. He is attentive, but not overly so, and his timing is just right. The ambiance is warm and comfortable. The cuisine — tapas, mahi, desserts — were beyond description. Sally is right. She is The Kitchen Wizard! Kudos also to Craig who is charming, who chatted with us and bussed our table, and who saw us on our way. We’ll come back to St. Thomas simply because of this restaurant. Well done!

Very charming! The owners and staff are VERY friendly and helpful. The menu changes daily with fresh foods and everything we tried on the tapas and entrees menu was delicious. I had a sweet potato soup with I andouille sausage and it was out of this world. The Mussels were done with chipotle peppers and cilantro, an interesting combo that was excellent. Incredible wine list.

Wow. Delicious. Best food on St Thomas by far. I would like to eat there every day. And with the ever-changing menu, I could! Literally everything we tried was good. Had the roasted eggplant cheesecake & some mussels for appetizers(both amazing). Then our table had steak, lamb penne, prawns/scallops, and bacon wrapped oysters. Every single dish was amazing & everyone was happy with their selection. It was so good that we wanted to go into the kitchen and personally thank Sally. She is a fantastic cook! The rest of the staff was also great, providing great service while sharing some fun personality. Definitely definitely recommend this place.

Do NOT follow the map to that location. You will end up on tiny oneway streets in the hood. Call for directions or you will not find it. Walked in and didn’t see a single local. The food was fabulous but nothing«authentic» or islandy. The menu changes daily. 5 Stars for delicious, creative, high end menu items. If foie gras, escargot, and pâté tempt your palate– lucky you! If you want a «mean» burger, fresh fish, or a delicious steak– lucky you! Craig & Sally’s has it all!

My major and only complaint of this restaurant is that it is a bit difficult to find. I believe that the address on Unilocal/google is incorrect. Just call and they can give you directions Outside of this, the service was great. We both ordered from the Tapas menu. The tapas menu changes every day so I would assume that everything is fresh. I had a tuna meatloaf, thats right, tuna meatloaf, that was executed perfectly with a curry plum catchup to accompany it. There was also an octopus and squid noodle salad. We also had fresh muscles that were topped with a chopped garlic pesto. All in all, its worth the work to find it. The atmosphere is not quite Caribbean, or water like. But the food and service make up for it.

Really great. The food quality doesn’t match the décor though. This place is stuck in the 80s… the overdone curtains, table cloths etc… all would be helped by simplying the place. The waiters who all have facial hair wear hawaiian shirts as if they worked in Trader Joes. Our apps(the 3 for $ 14) were great. Really inventive menu that changes daily! We shared a nice bottle of wine for $ 35 dollars. I’d definitely reccomend this place-it’s a nice way to see Frenchtown. The bar seems to draw a crowd as well.

Probably the best food we had on the island. Not quite NYC quality, but it _is_a friggin’ island after all(and not one that has millions of people and a bunch of of bridges and tunnels, like Manhattan). The wine list is extensive, and the white we had(Incogito’s Viognier) was fantastic. The menu is always changing, so my highlights won’t do much good. Nevertheless, I enjoyed our gnocchi bouillabaisse, our grouper, and our yellowtail. All were fantastic. The ceviche appetizer was also delicious, and I highly recommend it. Getting to the restaurant is highly non-obvious. You basically take an arbitrary, unmarked turn off of route 30 and it looks like you’re going down a random back alley until the road opens up into this cool little neighborhood called Frenchtown. The environment is great. I did wish that the restaurant had some better views(ala Oceana and Mim’s). Though they did a very good job with decoration, their location in Frenchtown somewhat limits what they can do. When you’re in the restaurant, you feel like it could be pretty much anywhere in the world, so they’re kind of wasting their St. Thomas location. I recommend the restaurant 100% since it’s definitely some of the best food on the island, and it was the best food on our trip. I don’t know how it compares to Oceana since it’s been years since I went there.

I’d like to give 4.5 because, well, nothings perfect. :-). The drinks were good, they have a strong wine selection, know how to make a good mixed drink, and don’t have a blender to even consider catering to the frozen daquri crowd. Win! Food: the menu changes daily based on whatever ingrediants are available fresh, and the whim of head chef Sally. To start we did tapas and a full appitizer including Roasted beets(I’m not a beet guy, but those that were enjoyed them), Scallops on roasted potatoes topped with crab(quite good), apple-crab coleslaw pockets with soy sauce(whatever you’re thinking, they were phenominal), and a slice of the roasted eggplant cheesecake(OMG, Id trade your first born child for another slice of this. Knock your socks off good!) Main courses at the table included more tapas, striped bass(fresh and delicious) and pulled pork with a fried mango BBQ sauce over coconut milk rice(holy cow, another incredible feature), the best fried plantains I’ve ever had(no lie), and grilled zuchinni and mango. Deserts were a vanilla crème brûlée, a triple berry pie, and a chocolate chip pecan pie. Of the thee, the cc-pecan pie was the most interesting, but not out of this world. Conclusion: Id recommend this place to anyone. If you like good food, great creativity from your chef(the kind that aren’t stictly architechtural but actually take your taste buds for an amazing ride!), and top noth drinks, this is your kind of place. If all you care about is a frozen boat drink and a view of the harbour(not that there’s anything wrong with that), then you should look elsewhere.

This was the best food we had in St. Thomas. Craig and Sally’s is located in the Frenchtown area of Charlotte Amalie(south end of the island). We started with a great bottle of white wine with an appetizer at the bar, chatting with the friendly barkeeper. We arrived early for our reservation, and happily spent our time at the bar until our table was ready. Once seated, we ordered 2 fantastic dishes. The parmesan encrusted fluke topped with crab meat was superb. We also had the roast and braised duck, also excellent. Chef Sally Darash definitely knows what she is doing. Craig greeted us personally at the door, and his extensive wine list was impressive. If you are in St. Thomas definitely visit!

This place was recommended by a local we met in VI. After trying many other gourmet restaurants in St Thomas; we were ready to give up on trying to find good food. Well luckily Craig and Sally’s didnt disappoint us. Food was well prepared and coked, atmosphere was romantic, service was great. I would give 2 stars if this place was in Boston but in St. Thomas it was the best place we ate at during our two weeks stay.

We’re on vacation in the Virgin Islands, and — as one might expect — try to get info from as many sources as possible as to where to eat and drink. This particular restaurant was recommended by a friend; several locals that we spoke with weren’t too enthusiastic, but we figured what the heck. Described as everything ranging from a hole-in-the-wall to a really great place, the actual location falls somewhere in between, but the food — first class, and the wine list — divine! I have to say that coming to the islands one expects a limited selection and high prices on the local wine lists, but Craig has done himself proud. Not only does he have a great wine list, but a great by-the-glass list as well. The location is out of the way. Behind the post office, end of the road, left, then left, then left, and you’re there. Parking is tight, but that’s typical of the island. The building itself isn’t imposing, but Craig greeted us at the door and showed us to a table. First thing I notice was a HUGE wine selection, in racks throughout the restaurant. The food is prepared by the day — we overheard our waiter(Eric — cool dude) telling people who came in later that they had run out of several of the items we ordered. Made us feel special! They have a nice tapas menu — our table had: roasted beets with goat cheese and chardonnay sea salt, tuna crudo with lychees, asparagus and gruyère tart, and a pork tapas. All delicions, especially the beets and the tart. Main courses: brisket that was melt-in-your mouth good, fresh wahoo in a soy broth that had just enough spice to make it soar, and a duck dish that was supurb. They won my heart by having Oren Swift’s «The Prisoner» for a reasonable $ 66.00(it retails in Miami for around $ 35). We went through that bottle before the main courses arrived, so I hit the by-the-glass menu for a nice glass of Albarino. Went great with the fish. Dessert was sublime — an apple-and-pear sour cream pie. better than sex. Yes it was. Total bill was VERY reasonable for the ambiance, and the food. Highly recommended!
