Las Cabras

This place could be 5 stars but the service is a bit lacking in attention. However, you can’t really beat how inexpensive and delicious the meals are. For what is equivalent of $ 13 the cabras grill is a huge plate of food that is hard to stop eating. Come with a big appetite and sufficient cash, since the place only accept local currency and dollars $ 10 – 20 bills only.

El sitio es en exceso caluroso, a la hora del almuerzo los mozos se abollan porque va mucha gente. La comida es buena nos pedimos las quesadillas que estaban divinas.

Tiene un menú súper amplio y es todo riquisimo, ideal para venir en grupos. Ojo, siempre esta lleno. Por eso la mayoría de las veces tenes que esperar, o venir temprano.

Lo bueno, la variedad de platos.
Los precios asustan un poco para un almuerzo pero se compensa con el tamaño de cada porción.
La parrillada es bastante completa y alcanza para tres personas comiendo bien. Los chinchus podrían estar un poco más cocidos, pero no decepciona para nada.
La atención normalmente deja un poco que desear, tardan en pasar a tomar el pedido y en tomarte la cuenta. Esto es lo principal para darle solamente 3 estrellas.
Extra: se puede dibujar en las mesas.

Conocía «Las Cholas», que está en las cañitas, ese me había gustado, pero fui esta vez a Las Cabras, para probar.
La comida está muy buena, las porciones son lo justo y necesario, y hay gran variedad de comidas, aunque se especializan en parrilla.
Los precios son bastante baratos, a decir verdad.
Lo único que tengo para objetarle a este lugar, es que las mesas que están afuera están todas muy juntas y es incómodo, además de que hay un gran árbol que desprende hojas todo el tiempo y se cae en la comida.
Pero sacando eso, un lugar genial. Vayan!

In my short time in BA/​staying in Palermo Hollywood, this is one of my favorite places. But to be clear, it’s for the food and value. Not so much for the service.
My friend and I came here twice during our time in BA. While adjusting to normal meal hours during our stay, we found that LC was very helpful in tying us over until dinner time. The wine is at such a reasonable price and the list is more extensive than most places in this price range. The portions are HUGE. Especially coming out of the parrillas. I highly recommend that if you come here, you get it.
The service is just slow. It takes so long to order, get your wine/​food, etc. The nice part is that you can enjoy your meal without worrying if you’re going to get bothered. The tough part is when you wanted to squeeze in more steak before heading over to the airport. Just prepare yourself for it.
And finally, the most important thing, they have pinguinos. Four US dollars for a liter of wine coming out of a humble penguin… yes. Sign me up for that any and everywhere.
Huge portions, great empanadas. I recommend this spot for sure.

didn’t try their carne de cabras but i’m a big fun of all the rest. don’t get me wrong their meat is not going to be the best carne you eat in argentina but their price quality ratio is better than amazon’s p/​e and when you weigh in a bottle f decent wine for 10U$D, at the time this review was written, adjust to inflation and crazy argentinean governments shenanigans for actual prices, you will be in slaughter cow heaven in no time.

Conozco Las Cabras hace unos cinco años ya y la verdad que me encanta. Pero hay algo que aclarar, no me gusta el ambiente, yo solo voy a comer entraña con ensalada ceaser y/​o papas fritas porque me hacen demasiado feliz.
Voy ahi solo a pedirme eso porque lo hacen super bien, probe otras cosas y todas me gustaron.
Imaginate que hoy no me importaron los millones de grados de calor y la insoportable humedad. Fui me pedi mi entraña, me la trajeron como siempre y como siempre nunca la termino porque las porciones son enormes.
Cosas que me gustan de lugar para darle las 4 estrellas es, obviamente, la calidad de la comida y las porciones. Todo lo de la categoria parrilla es solo para personas de muy buen comer. Por lo que te ofrecen el precio es razonable y no cobran cubierto.
Lo que le baja una estrella es que es ruidoso, no hay aire acondicionado, solo ventiladores y las mesas estan demasiado cerca una de la otra.

Este tipo de resto los conocí a principio del 2000 cuando iba a la facultad, el primero fue Las cholitas (Rodríguez Peña 1165), y era mega barato, después seguí con las cholitas en la calle Arce, las cañitas.
Tienen un menú variado hay carnes asadas, pollo, y también hay quesadillas, pero por lo general son comidas criollas, pastel de papa, humita, empanadas. Toda la comida que probé estuvo bien, no es una locura, pero por el precio está perfecto, la atención siempre fue buena, los mozos siempre me atendieron cordialmente.
No aceptan reservas y hay que anotarse apenas llegas y he esperado 1 hora por reloj, pero bueno, también tiene su magia al espera, además en restos como Kansas que los precios son el triple la gente también espera hasta 2 hora reloj, asique no pasa nada… es parte de la experiencia Las Cabras, jajajaja.
Las mesas tienen manteles de papel y un canastito con crayones para poder dibujar, creo que fueron pioneros en ese sentido, ahora hay muchos resto que tienen esta temática.
Las Cabras en particular está en la esquina de Fitz Roy y El Salvador, una esquina tranquila dentro de Palermo, la parte de afuera es muy linda, y adentro está bien, pero es más ruidosa, aunque las paredes son puertas y cuando hace calor las abren y queda como un espacio continuo, enfrente está el bar Negroni para tomarse unos traguitos después, o a media cuadra esta Lupita Palermo para terminar la noche tomando unos ricos traguitos.
Es una opción cool y barata dentro de Palermo Hollywood. yo voy muy seguido es una buena opción.
IMPORTANTE ES SOLO EFECTIVO!

Me encanta este lugar!!! La comida es riquísima, barata, no cobra cubierto y el lugar está muy bien ubicado. La atención no es de lo mejor, pero el resto lo compensa.
Esta vez pedimos una cazuela de choclo más calabaza + 2 brochetes de lomo con ensalada ceasar. Ambas cosas un manjar! Los platos son enormes y llenan mucho. Siempre queremos pedir postre, pero nunca podemos por lo llenas que salimos.
El pan casero con manteca que te traen mientras esperas, y que no pagas ya que no cobran cubierto, es de lo mejor!
Lo único que tiene de «malo» es que si vas después de las 21hs seguro tenés que hacer cola para obtener un lugar. Pero la verdad que vale la espera.

Las cabras es una linda opción a la hora de almorzar o cenar. Los precios están correctos en relación a la experiencia y la calidad.
Contras: no aceptan reservas y los días lindos REVIENTA.
Pros: es un lugar comodo, familiar y medianamente económico.
Grupos de amigos: pidan parrillada + mix de carnes, juega en primera.

La cabras siempre está lleno y de quién realmente. Se puede cenar desde muy temprano y esta lleno de turistas. Cambió de turno y se lleno de porteños. Esta cerca de todo en Palermo. Tiene opciones simple y ricas. Nada tan elaborado que no puedas hacer vos en tu casa pero vengo cuando no quiero cocinar. Como sano y barato. Mis fijas son las quesadillas. La mixtas. Los hongos salteados. Es un entrada re boludo pero tan rica y con mucho ajo. El bife las cabras completo y con todo. Vengo desde siempre y todavía vuelvo. Si no quieren esperar vengan temprano. Desde la 21. A esperar si o si.

Omg, amazing. This please is the heart of Argentina BBQ. Great food, wine abs atmosphere. I was there by myself but staff was very friendly and helped me translate menu to English.
You will notice a long line (20+ min wait) but totally worth the wait.
Very cheap compare to the restaurant nearby.
But please be careful Cash Only.

Le bajo una estrella porque las últimas veces que fui, viene fallándome.
Ayer llegamos temprano para no tener que esperar mucho, había poca gente asi que pudimos sentarnos sin esperar, hicimos los respectivos pedidos y no solo tardó un montón en traerlos, sino que cuando los trajo estaban fríos.
La vez anterior que fui pasó algo similar.

Lo mejor del lugar es la comida! Pero al tener una muy buena calidad y precio (no toma reservas) el tema es la espera. Si llegas antes de las 21horas tenes espera de ²⁰⁄₃₀ minutos después pasa a ser de hora, hora y media.
Recomiendo ir a probar las especialidades de la casa, la atención no es muy buena, son pocos mozos para muchas mesas.
Pero vale la pena ir x lo que son los platos, los postres y el precio.

Las Cabras es de los mismos dueños de Cumaná y Brasitas (en Rodriguez Peña y Santa Fe) Tienen el mismo estilo de ambientación todos y platos similares.
Este es el más lindo por la zona para mi porque da gusto comer afuera que simula un patio interno pero estás en la calle.
La comida muy rica, aunque pedí una cazuela que ya había probado en Cumaná y no estaba tan sabrosa. Claramente no puede ser igual porque está en las manos de otro cocinero.
Para recomendar y volver a ir.

Las Cabras es de esos lugares que, cuando no sabés adónde ir, surge el nombre. Tiene dos imbatibles, la comida es rica (aunque no wow)) y los precios MUY accesibles, sobre todo para la zona.
Es una parrilla muy bien ubicada que tiene espacio afuera, en un patio, o bien adentro, donde tenés la parrilla en el fondo. Es parrilla, decía, pero tenés de todo, también podés comer algo del norte (como cazuelas al horno de barro, que recomiendo mucho porque son una delicia, especialmente la de calabaza y lomo), alguna cosa mexicana, etc. Obvio lo principal es parrilla. Las porciones de comida son abundantes, así que se puede compartir, por ejemplo, un bife grande con acompañamientos para dos está bien. Bebidas varias, marcas comerciales conocidas, etc.
Mis comentarios negativos son para las sillas, son de esas de madera pero con paja (?), ya todas en su mayoría viejas y que se mueven mucho. Las mesas de afuera están todas pegadas una a la otra. Adentro creo que pasa lo mismo pero no me acuerdo mucho porque siempre terminamos afuera. Hay muuucha espera siempre, así que hay que ir bien temprano, lamentablemente. Y la atención, depende el día, es de buena a regular.
Es un lugar con mucho tránsito de turistas. Cash only!

FAIL por donde se lo mire, si bien fuimos un dia que habia poca gente porque siempre que teniamos ganas de ir lo veiamos explotado de gente esta vez lo vimos vacio

Nos levantamos y fuimos a Perez-​H a la vuelta y comimos de lo rico y seguro mas barato.

No soy fan. Me irrita tener que esperar tanto para sentarme a comer (por qué la gente espera una hora para sentarse?) en especial en esta zona, hay muchas otras opciones para elegir.
A favor:
–El precio. Es relativamente económico para ser una parrilla en pleno Palermo Hollywood.
— la comida está bien.
— tiene delivery.
En contra:
— la espera. Una locura.
— la comodidad: las mesas y sillas son súper incomodas. Si te toca sentarte adentro, prepárate para irte lleno de olor a humo.
— los baños: nunca está en condiciones.
En fin, está bien pero no deslumbra.

A ver, Las Cabras:
Fuimos en plan de parrillada: la comida, diez puntos, un golazo. Pan casero para la espera, de entrada empanadas de carne (que entran en el top 5 de las mejores que comí) y una modesta provoletita. Plato principal: parrillada. Era para tres, alcanzó y SOBRÓ para cuatro. Entraña, asado, vacío, chorizo, salchichas a la parrilla, papas, todo hiper gustoso, a punto, muy satisfactorio todo. Volvería por la comida.
POR EL OTRO LADO: nos sentamos afuera. Ok, es un lugar mega concurrido, pero no se podía caminar, no podías correr la silla, ¡no podías ni COLGAR LA ROPA en el asiento! Estabamos fumando y nunca, ni viéndonos, nos ofrecieron cenicero. Lo pedimos, okey. Una vez finalizada la cena, fumamos de nuevo y viene muy intempestivamente una chica, de mala gana, a decirnos que no se podía fumar, que nos fueramos. Estabamos AFUERA, y uno de los meseros NOS TRAJO el cenicero… Las Cabras, what’s good? Baños un desastre, no tienen wi-​fi, había un mínimo viento y los manteles (papel envoltorio de almacén) nos golpeaban en la cara.
Excelente comida, pésima, PÉSIMA atención, ¿por qué no se gastan UN TOQUE de lo que lo hacen para la preparación de la comida, en la atención? ¿Qué necesidad? Media pila, señor Juez.

Machismo at it’s finest! I ordered the squash soup (Calabaza) and specifically confirmed that it came with a piece of bread with cheese on top. When it arrived at the table, yes it had that piece of toast with cheese, but the actual soup was disgusting: goopy with mounds of cheese and cream and no taste of squash! I took one bite and knew I couldn’t even eat it.
I calmly spoke with the waiter and explained the problem, demonstrating the consistency of the soup broth with respect to the addition of cheese and cream. What did the Peruvian waiter do? HE ASKED THE TWO MEN AT MY TABLE FOR THEIR OPINION??? I continued to insist, all in fluent Argentine Spanish mind you, that it was my dish, my problem with the dish, and that I would be the sole appropriate person to discuss the matter with. After explaining it to him AND his waiter buddy, they returned a second time with another man (I guess the manager) and again asked me to explain what was wrong with the soup.
Management please take note: if you want to keep any female clients, you must change your behavior and show respect to all clients. This is not acceptable.
Puro machismo! Yo pedi la sopa de calabaza y confirme con el mozo que tenia un pedazo de pan con queso arriba. Cuando llego a la mesa, si, tenia el pan con queso, pero el caldo (si se puede llamarlo caldo) fue super asqueroso: muy pero muy espesa con queso, crema y quien sabe que mas — todo menos sabor de la calabeza. Me comi una cucharada y sabia que ni la podia comer.
Tranquilamente hable con el mozo y explice el problema, mostrandole la consistencia del caldo con respeto a la adiccion de queso y crema. Que hizo el mozo de Peru? EL PREGUNTO LA OPINION DE LOS HOMBRES DE LA MESA PARA SU OPINION!!! Sigui igual, todo en castellano argentino, que fue mi plato, mi problema con el plato, y que yo soy la unica persona adecueda para hablar sobre el tema. Despues que lo explice una vez a el mozo de Peru con otro mozo, volvieron los 2 con otro hombre (el gerente me imagino) y me preguntaron que les explico de vuelta que no me gusto de la sopa.
Gerente del restaurante por favor nota: si quieren mantener sus clientes quienes somos mujeres, deven cambiar su comportamiento y mostrar respeto a todos sus clientes. Esto no es acceptable.

Pocas veces en mi vida me fui tan disgustada con la atención de un lugar.
Para empezar nos sentamos afuera. Evidentemente querían sobre-​llenar el lugar entonces la separación entre las mesas era casi nula. Las sillas se chocaban, entre la gente debíamos pedirnos permiso para sentarnos porque IMPOSIBLE PASAR POR NINGÚN LADO. Luego el camarero vino a tomarnos el pedido medio de mala gana. Una de mis amigas preguntó si se podía fumar y le dijo que sí, por lo tanto le acercó un cenicero.
Pedimos parrillada, provoleta y empanadas.
La comida estuvo deliciosa, todo a punto, perfecto. Sabores exquisitos, realmente cumplieron todas mis expectativas y más.
20 min después de comer, la encargada nos vino a pedir que nos retiráramos porque no se podía fumar en el lugar. Si bien nos habían dicho que se podía, manifestó que era una regla que acababan de incorporar. Bullshit. Pedimos la cuenta y tardaron un bueeeen rato en traerla.
Una lastima que tan buena calidad de comida sea opacado por la pésima atención.

Las Cabras es siempre una buena opción para comer un rico y abundante asado a buen precio en una buena ubicación. Y lo más copado de Las cabras es que tienen otras opciones afuera los famosos cortes de carne para disfrutar. Hay opciones de la culiária argentina como locro y cazuelitas y de otras culinárias como las quesadillas tipicamente mexicanas.
Esta fue mi elección en mi última visita: Quesadillas de salmon con queso brie y rúcula.
Que vienen acompañadas de ensalada y papas fritas. Super ricas!!!
Mis amigas fueron de bife de chorizo y un especia Las cabras y salieron contentas también.
Para acompañar, el clásico vino en peguino!

Cuando busqué este local creí que iba a tener más estrellas que las que tiene, me sorprendí realmente.
Está bien, estéticamente no es el mejor lugar, sillas de mimbre, manteles de papel que parece reciclado, mesas de maderas… Como negativo, les doy la derecha, las mesas estan muy juntas y para sentarse (salvo días raros) es muy dificil conseguir lugar y NO ACEPTAN RESERVAS!
Después todo es bueno (nunca pedí parrilla así que me reservo el derecho a opinar sobre los productos que se cocinan allí). Empezamos por el pan, casero, con manteca que ya hacen que valga la pena haberse sentado, después una carta variada donde siempre pido Quesadillas por que son muy muy MUY ricas (la de salmón y queso brie sobre todo). Vienen acompañadas de ensalada César, papas fritas y salsas de queso casancrem y guacamole. En cuanto a bebidas, si vas pedir sin alcohol, las limonadas en pinguino son riquiiiiisimas! Otra comida que recomiendo mucho son los pasteles de calabaza.
En fin, si pasas por la puerta y ves que no está tan lleno, sentate a comer. Si lo planificas, andá muy temprano. Si no te gusta esperar, no vayas!

Fui con un grupo de amigos, con todo lo que eso significa, y Las Cabras no decepcionó. Muy buena comida a precios accesibles, muy barato si tenés en cuenta la zona.
El punto bajo fue el tiempo de espera: más de una hora (éramos un grupo de 12, se entiende hasta cierto punto) y el punto del bife: lo pedí jugoso y estaba a punto, error menor pero error al fin.
Porciones súper abundantes, platos excelentes, atención media tirando a mala y ambientación buena.
Recomendable, volvería.

Si hace bueno, excepto posiblemente en invierno :-(, es muy simpático la terraza. Muy buen carta de vinos, mi restaurant favorito en Palermo Hollywood para el almuerzo.

Looks real nice, but once you sit down you don’t feel welcome. Service staff is unfriendly and stuck up. Food is okay, but orher places definitely offer better quality at the same price level. The final surprise comes in the end — you can only pay cash! Bummer, as we did not have enough cash and tried to find a solution. The unfriendly staff didn’t give a shit and sent us to an ATM. Our argument that it would’ve been nice if they at least gave a short hint on payment terms before ordering did not interest them at all. Result: NEVER AGAIN! There’s so many better places in the same area.

Hands down has the best Lomo we have had outside of Don Julio or el obero. And it was a fraction of the cost. Well worth the visit and try. The tamale was fabulous and traditional in flavor and taste! The pastel lomo and calabaza was good but overall very sweet tasting. Sitting inside can feel like you are crammed and the service isn’t the best. Be on top of your waiter if you expect things.

Parrillada com todos os ingredientes tradicionais. Pratos muito bem servidos e corretamente realizados. Preços realmente competitivos que fazem a casa bombar. Um lugar sem erro. Só estranhei o vinho ser servido em copos, mas nada que comprometesse a avaliação. Ótimo para ir com amigos, mas chegue cedo ou vai esperar muito tempo por uma mesa.

This was one of my favourite places in buenos aires. Maybe it’s because they have a constant stream of customers that they don’t care any more but the service now is one of the worst i’ve experienced in the city, and that says a lot for here. I used to go once a month but hadn’t been in over a year. I won’t be going back.

Not the best parilla we visited during our Argentina trip; but it is in a good location in Palermo and the ambiance is definitely worth enjoying.
Their empanadas were the bomb.
Overall cheap prices 120 soles ($, 10) for a huge meat platter. Difficult to beat that anywhere.
However, do go before 7 pm for dinner or there would be really long lines.

Mmm Meat! We got the big mixed parrilla, enough for two people and a doggie bag (though what you take home is the blood sausage and guts, if you’re like us, since the steak gets polished off). Our thinking is that, chopped up and mixed with some eggs, those intestines will just be tasty bits. Jugoso! I think that’s how you order things rare. Delicious, and plenty of it. Like the others said, get here at 8:30 if you don’t want to wait and watch other people devour steaks while you’re starving!

Notre coup de coeur à Buenos Aires, on y a mangé trois fois!
Pour moins de 10 € ils servent une planche en bois immense avec un très gros steak fondant, des frites, un oeuf, du riz, de la purée de citrouille, du provolone fondu, un oignon et un poivron un truc de malade et c’est délicieux!
Très populaire y aller en début de service pour avoir une place, grand bbq ouvert à l’intérieur du resto.
Demander de la sauce chimichurri pour accompagner vos grillades!
Un must à Buenos Aires!

another «popular» parilla in Palermo SOHO. Go at off peak time.
Seating and dining room/​outside tables seem a bit more casual than Don Julio or La Cabrera.
The price is a little cheaper and but the cuts are not as good quality as the other 2 places.
I only tried the mixed grill (meat came with side of caesar salad which was not very fresh) but the menu seemed to have so many interesting choices.
My red wine (lower ¹⁄₃ price range in the list) was not very good but this was mainly my fault as I did not have good knowledge of local wine selection. The cheap red wine I had at Don Julio was excellent though.
Will probably go back to try other things of if I cannot get into the other 2 places.

Las Cabras is in the trendy Palermo SOHO neighborhood of Buenos Aires, an area filled with chic restaurants and fun eateries. In a city full of Parillas, it is not an easy task to stand out and become a household name, which is exactly what Las Cabras has become during their years in the business. The restaurant is on the corner of a four way intersection and has outdoor and indoor seating making it a fun place to dine and do some people watching on summer nights. I had a chance to sample the bistec chorizo in medium rare and found it to be a little over ‘medium’ than what is generally acceptable. The bistec come on a bed of caesar salad and it was very enjoyable to finally get some greens after a week of pigging out on Carne in this carnivorous capital of the greatest meat producing country in the world. Service is hit or miss with young and slightly distracted waiters managing the whole floor so don’t expect much, tranquilo and you will not be disappointed. Atmosphere in the dining area is also very conducive to striking up a conversation with the next table so with the right mindset it could be a social meal as well. Great value for the money as most dishes are in the $ 10-​$ 15 (USD) range.

I came to this place on a Monday night; we were a group of 4. The platters that they claim that are for 3 really serve about 5 –6 people. We had over half of the food left over after ordering a salad, a side of fries and batata frita and an appetizer in addition to our meal. The waitress was rude and very inattentive. She took ages to come back to check up on us or bring us the bill.
I recommend the cheese with organo, the churrasco and the batata frita. I wish that the chicken was seasoned better. There are also several unique options here such as liver, frozen blood and cow ears. I tried a bit of each but it wasn’t my cup of tea, probably bc I knew exactly what I was eating. However, everything with the exception of the grilled chicken, was seasoned to perfection.

My family and I went yesterday to Las Cabras. Unfortunately, there were no available seats inside so we could either eat outside or wait one hour at least. We chose to eat outside even if it was cold and there was no heater.
I didn’t like the black tea and the rice dish. The rice was drowned in a lot of sauce that didn’t have much flavor and the bowl was not very clean.
There wasn’t an English menu and nobody told us that Las Cabras didn’t accept credit cards. Fortunately, we had enough cash with us.
It’s better to go there early if you want to have a seat inside during autumn and winter.

I used to live just around the corner from this place so I’ve been there countless times. Although the service is absolutely awful, the gravel instead of proper floor tiles makes you feel you are eating at a parking lot and getting a table is a matter of luck more than anything, I still love the food, their huge portions and extremely affordable prices, especially for this part of Palermo.
I just want to stress that the quality of service is ridiculously low in case a manager or owner reads this since they are honestly terrible, it’s not the classic understaffed place where the waiters can’t handle the amount of work, even if you go for early dinner and there are only 3 or 4 customers, they’ll still try to avoid you, they are unfriendly, and they’ll just not care about anything at all. And forget about getting decent delivery, not once have they brought the right order, and that’s the few times they managed to write down my address.
