We absolutely all loved this bakery that we made two visits during our one day in Copenhagen. We arrived pretty early in Denmark, and not a lot of places were open, but this place happened to be open and pretty close by to where we were staying. I love the people that work here, they’re absolutely the nicest and very patient with the customers. We stared at all the pastries and took pictures like true tourists for the longest time before finally deciding what we wanted. I chose the vanilla custard and had absolutely no regrets. It was perfect in every way. The outside was crispy and I could taste all the layers. It was flaky and crispy and just the right amount of sweetness. And don’t even get me started on the vanilla custard. It was sweet and kind of a gelatin texture and went so well with the outer layer. Upon finishing my vanilla custard, I went back and got a raspberry danish, which was also just quite amazing, but not as amazing as the vanilla custard, because I went back the next morning and got another vanilla custard to eat on the train to the Denmark airport. Definitely have no regrets stopping by here during my short stay in Copenhagen.

Taste 8⁄10 Service N/A Value 8⁄10 Was too full to buy their entire deal but got one small strawberry Danish and one poppyseed pastry Strawberry Danish — the filling is a bit sweet but crust is Very Flaky probably the most flaky one I’ve had here in Copenhagen Poppyseed pastry — very very good. Highly recommend!

During our 3 day stay in Copenhagen, we ate here 3 times. Everything here is good, especially the Danishes. We also came during lunch time and had the best hot dogs in Copenhagen. The smorrebrod is available during lunch time, and we tried 3 different kinds. They were tasty.

Simply put, the best pastries I’ve ever had and some of the best service I’ve received. You walk in and pick up a ticket, admire the delightful offerings and then one of the wonderful staff help you out. Both times we’ve been here we asked for suggestions — and they were excellent both times. I didn’t try the hot food, as I stick to pastries but I did eat half a focaccia and that was really good as well. The shop is very conveniently located next to Tivoli gardens and across the road from the central station. In London that’d automatically mean it was an over priced tourist trap. In Copenhagen, it simply means that the bakery ups it’s game. It’s frankly awesome, anyone spending any time in Copenhagen should make sure to include a trip here on their itinerary.

Love this bakery! As a gluten allergic this place is seriously paradise! A huge selection of cakes and a really great whole wheat bun which is so soft and full of taste. I had the Sara Bernard cake and it was so great! Couldn’t eat the whole thing though, I would probably pick the small one ;-) It’s convenient and a really nice and helpful staff! Strongly recommendable!

This place is fine. The pastries are good, but not great. Note that this bakery is across the street from Central Station and around the corner from an entrance to Tivoli so they tend to get a lot of street traffic and screaming children. The staff is nice and the ordering system works well.

I walked over a mile to come here to see if what Unilocal was saying was really true! Yes, the people are correct. Andersen Bakery has delicious, fresh, flaky pastries. I got three mini pastries in order to sample a variety. Rhubarb, vanilla custard and a cinnamon bun. All three were delicious. I really cant decide which one is better. I paired it with a soy chai latte, which was the best chai latte I have ever had! Starbucks has nothing on Andersen. Baristas were great. There’s plenty of seating. Also its next to Tivoli and open before the park is open. Definitely recommend.

I don’t really see how this bakery could be better. The system is simple — grab a ticket, place your order, pay, and find a table. The girl behind the counter was the sweetest and efficient. I wanted something savoury so we shared a pesto focaccia, and I’m a lover of all things cinnamon so I had the mini cinnamon roll. Brian had a cherry danish(when in Rome…) Everything was delicious. The focaccia was savoury and full of toppings, including pesto, cheese, olives and tomatoes. I only had a small nibble of the danish but thought it was excellent. My favourite of everything though had to be the cinnamon roll — so flavourful, not at all dry, and not too sweet either. All of that was only about 60DKK, and we left satisfied. Especially for the location, the price was good and we were really pleased with everything.

I love pastries. I tried both the almond croissant and the pain au chocolat and I am quite disappointed. They are both too sweet and greasy. The location is convenient since it’s right across the train station.

This place was a must go to! The pastries were delishous perfectly flaky great flavours. We went for lunch one day and had a cinnamon roll and a pesto foccachia. The né t day we went for breakfast which was the biggest most unnecessary breakfast but i would recommend it. It consisted of a pastry and roll of your choice, a coffee and yogurt and fruit. We had a marzipan poppy seed pastry which was the most different and yummy pastry I have ever had and your highly recommend it! However the chocolate swirl was not worth it and was a bit dry and bland so I would skip that…

Not the best baked goods(cp to Meyer and Skt Peders), but a good place to get a quick meal in before departing the city given its proximity to the train station. Free refills on coffee and they even allow you to take it to go, which is a plus.

A tester.

Came here for a quick lunch before a tour. The hot dog was delicious. My friend got two scones and said they were very good too. I was too full to get any other pastries but everything looks delicious. Definitely coming back when I come back to Copenhagen. The bakery is big so definitely always easy to find a place to sit.

I find myself traveling again, this time one of the places I decide to visit is Copenhagen. It’s breakfast time so I know that being away from home, there will be no bacon and egg and cheese, no home-fries, nothing that I’m used to back home(Yes, I know, I’m in another country) I decide to look for a breakfast spot, out of many I make up my mind for this spot, Andersen Bakery this bakery is about 1 block from the Radisson Royal Blu hotel, around Tivoli Gardens. As I walk in, it’s like most eateries in Scandinavia(at least the one’s I’ve been to) they’re pleasing to the eye, comfortable, quaint, comfy. As I look around I can’t seem to make up my mind, I’m not interested in the pastries, even though I just want to buy a Danish and say«I’m eating a Danish in Denmark) I don’t want the typical premade sandwiches they have at most of these places but I know I want something with bread, I then spot these thingies and decide to try the«Andersen håndværker» with butter, cheese and marmalade, the lady behind the counter suggested that to put on. I took two and a coffee, I decide to go back to my hotel room and eat in the comfort of my tiny space. As I took my first bite, just as I expected, the first bite was orgasmic, the Andersen håndværker is basically a poppyseed roll, but better. As I took a bite into this I could taste the marmalade which perhaps is better than our factory made jelly back in the states, the cheese was there but not there which is good because most cheese tend to overtake one’s flavor buds, the butter, just like in most of Europe, subtle, not salty, and just a touch, put these together and a crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside roll and you have yourself something beautiful. Now that I have told Unilocalers about the poppy seed rolls *sigh*, let me get back to the bakery itself, well the service is great the girls behind the counter are great, yes they do speak English for those of you who lack Danish language skills, they accept credit cards, you can either sit there with a candle lit table if you want or take your food like a mouse back to your cubbyhole(hotel room), and the prices are ok, not too expensive but it’s not cheap either, keep an eye on the extras if you care about small charges on your final bill, I looked at my receipt and found that they charge for butter and marmalade, to some this might be normal but to most Americans these things are free back home.

It turns out that the Danes make a good danish! Tourists in Copenhagen, go here and you won’t be disappointed. Just outside the train station, so nip out for a treat for the train. Sandwiches and pastries. Very friendly staff who are happy to speak English. Great pastries and bread. Nice lattes too! I had the breakfast: great bread, cheese, jam, fruit and a small pastry, who could ask for more? Pro tip: there’s a «take a number» system in place when it’s busy, look for the machine to get your number. They announce the numbers in Danish, so watch carefully!

Having just arrived in the land of danishes, I picked up a vanilla custard wienerbrod as a snack to tide me over until dinner. Eating it while sitting on a bench in the Radhuspladsen while people watching was definitely an enjoyable experience(and slightly cheaper as to-go items tend to be in Copenhagen). A plethora of delectable choices are on display at the entrance, and it looked like there was ample seating inside. And the girls behind the counter were all very nice and didn’t have a problem with this non-Danish-speaking tourist. Well worth a visit.

Disclaimer: tourist from Seattle. I loved this bakery!!! And I’ve been to my fair share(I have this crazy affinity to flour and sugar). During our four day stay, we came here twice! I should also tell you I love coffee(and I went to both Coffee Collective and Kent Kaffe Laboratorium in Copenhagen) and I thought the latte here was pretty tasty. I really liked the milk in it, very creamy(I also got a cappuccino here, not bad). On our first visit, we got a variety of the mini danishes and a classic hotdog. My favorite danish is a tie between the raspberry and the strawberry pistachio, although all of them are good. The hot dog was pretty good as well(not as good as pølse kompagniet but still good). On the second trip, we were heading to the train and I got a Kringle bigger than my head(see the photos) and it was delicious. My friend got a roast beef sandwich to go and when we ate it at the airport, we were in awe. It was probably one of the best roast beef sandwiches we have ever had! Seriously! I regret not getting real food there instead of just pastries… next time. Oh, and it gets pretty busy because it’s next to the central train station, but they have a queue system where you take a number so it’s very efficient and pretty quick! Everyone spoke English and the workers were all very nice.

Plenty of baked goodies to choose from, both salty and sweet. The croissants are huge and delicious and I suggest you try the full-grain sweet roll; an interesting combo of healthy grains with just the right amount of sweetness. One pastry and coffee with refills cost 50kr, a few kroner less if you take-away. Approved!

The best sandwiches we have had in a long time! My husband had the smoked salmon, I had the tomato mozzarella, both on a multi grain bun. Everything was fresh and high quality ingredients, a delicious blend of flavors. My husband’s had guacamole on it, mine had hummus and pesto. Even the coffee was excellent! Service was great! Place is very clean, well run, with a nice vibe. We will be back in the morning for breakfast before leaving for Berlin! Bravo to the staff!

I came at the urging of a friend who told me this was the best hot dog she had ever had in her life, and she’s a huge foodie(seriously one of the biggest foodies that may have ever lived). I don’t know what the best hot dog of my life would taste like… but this wasn’t bad. I got the bulldog with fried onions and it was made extremely well. However, what did change my life was the Danish. Oh my god, so delicious. I was lucky enough to get there right when they had a fresh batch, but I didn’t eat it until 3 hours later, and it was still amazing — the most delicious Danish I’ve had in my life. I’m definitely coming back for more pastries when I come back to Copenhagen. For me, the hot dog was a 4, but the Danish was a 5. Since my friend loved it so much, I’m rounding the average 4.5 up to 5 stars.

We enjoyed a FABULOUS lunch! The coffee is incredible, fresh salad greens, amazing sweet rolls(I don’t think they are called Danishes in Denmark), we split the Chicken Club with curry mayo and it was enough for two to enjoy. The atmosphere is great for enjoying a meal and conversation. The staff were very helpful and were kind enough to speak English.

Some of their cakes are insanely decadent and give you an urge to go to confession(I’m looking at you rhubarb crumble). It’s a bit pricy — but I think the quality matches the price. The staff are very friendly and very patient with tourists who can’t decide which of the pretty pastries to try. I find the service better here than in Lagkagehuset in the station. Considering the fact that Lagkagehuset in the station has raised their prices in that location I would walk across the street to Andersens. As I wrote in a tip they have a deal with coffee being half off in Mondays. I haven’t seen a sign for it in ages, but they still give me half off on my double late to-go. Just for that and their sinful cakes they deserve a full 5*. The sandwiches are very yummy too and great to bring along for a meeting or to eat in the park behind Glyptoteket.

I absolutely love this bakery! I fell in love as soon as I walked through the door and saw the décor and furniture. It’s very calm and relaxing, yet sophisticated and cool. I’m definitely a sucker for bakeries and good coffee. The smell of their pastries made me smile. I ordered their large breakfast which consisted of a roll with jam and butter, a pastry, and coffee. It was definitely worth every penny and I came back the next day.

Disappointing. I had such culinary goodness in Copenhagen and was expecting more of the same here, but the pastries I had tasted a little stale. I went on a late November early evening, and there was a large selection of goodies, but they looked better than they tasted. Please head to Emmerys which isn’t too far from here or even La Glacé. There is a way in which the butter had sort of separated from the puffed pastry into a cold greasiness. The people working here, though, were friendly and nice, which is why I will give the place 3 stars.

I am a huge fan of the Andersen bakeries in Northern California. When I got off at the train station and saw this place, I was ecstatic! The bakery is located near/inside Tivoli gardens but anyone can go in. I tried a chocolate nut tart and it was made with high quality ingredients, rich, and decadent. I wish they made these in the US. It was 30DKK but I noticed it was 32DKK if you dine in. I’ve never seen anything like that before. Other than the difference in cost, it’s a nice bakery with amazing treats. Some of the best treats you’ve ever seen. Service was friendly and the pastries were super fresh.

This is one of the better bakeries in Denmark, the bread is amazingly soft and fresh made daily. The danishes are adorable and tasty! There are so many pastries and bread to choose from its overwhelming and hard to decide. The chocolate croissant is really really good! They also serve gourmet hot dogs here, and let me tell you these are truly gourmet. The bread is freshly toasted, the hot dog itself is premium beef, and they load your dog with plenty of toppings. Definitely the best gourmet dog i have eaten in a long time. They also sell danish cookies which are very tasty and wrapped perfect for gifting to others. This is my go to bakery if i ever land in Denmark again, the fresh bread and danishes are delicious!

Andersen Bakery is an amazing place for baked goods! The Danish do pastries really well, but Andersen Bakery definitely sets the standard. Their pastries are perfectly soft and flaky, not too sweet. They have mini versions so you can buy those if you want to try a bunch of different ones. They also serve lunch here and their sandwiches and hot dogs are also delicious. Probably because they are served on their delicious bread. Oddly enough, Andersen Bakery is actually Japanese. This place perfectly merges the two worlds of fluffy Japanese breads and the delicious Danish pastries. YUM!
