Good food, fairly reasonable price, and very large, high end wine list. From what I understand this place is kind of positioned as an alternative to Ma Cuisine which is very hard to get a reservation. We went with two of the tasting menus which were both good, if not great. The wine list however, was great though bring your wallet. Not much under 100 Euro and you can go up to EUR1,000+ if you want. Wine is well worth the prices if you have the money though, there are some amazing producers and wines available. Service was very slow but the waiters were trying, just apparently understaffed. All in all, it was good, and I would probably go back. Mainly for the wine.

Probably the best meal we had this trip to France. All the dishes were simply great and the desert outstanding. The wine suggested were reasonably priced but lovely! A must visit place.

Our meal at 21 Boulevard was by far our favorite in Beaune and it was also the best priced. Our reservation had been moved up by 30 minutes from our original booking and we completely forgot — the host was very clearly not pleased with us when we arrived but was still able to seat us. I had the bourgignon menu and my husband had the 21 boulevard menu. We asked the sommelier to make pairing suggestions and he did a fabulous job! He was able to stay in our price range and made perfect recommendations. I was beyond pleased and tried SO hard to remember each wine(of course the more you drink, the less you remember). I had the traditional Burgundy snails which were amazing and the beef cheek with tagliatelle — both were wonderful renditions of classic dishes and I raved about the beef cheek for the rest of our trip. My husband and I both opted for a selection of the cheeses — our server was very thoughtful and gave us both very different selections. I couldn’t believe how much cheese they served us and how wonderful each one was. It’s been a while since I was really wowed by a cheese plate but they really did a wonderful job. There are so many dining options in Beaune and I’m very glad we chose to eat at Boulevard 21. I would go back again in a heartbeat and highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent food, reasonably priced(I think) for Beaune. 3 course prix fixe bourguignon menu was only 28 euro. All courses were prepared well and very tasty. We were looking for classic bourguignon dishes and I think we scored. Waiter helped us pick out an awesome reasonably priced pinot noir from cote de nuits appellation. Only 29 euro for a very high quality drinkable wine. Wait staff speak reasonable English and did not laugh at my feeble attempts at French. They were friendly and not at all snooty, esp the blonde bus-woman. Would definitely recommend! Addendum: OK, 5 days later and after sampling boeuf bourguignon and duck confit several times(including tonight at the much over-rated tourist trap Chez Dumonet in Paris), my husband and I have concluded that the boeuf at 21 Blvd is THEBEST we’ve ever had and its duck confit one of the best. Don’t leave Beaune without sampling its delights!

I got the impression that the management had changed at the restaurant three months ago, but the restaurant was a very good effort only three months in. There were three set menus to choose from(and an a la carte with much the same fare). We tried the pan seared scallops with truffles(and the scallops were quite tender and delicious). The bread, butter, and wine were all excellent. The beef cheeks with homemade pasta was not good(poor cuts of meat poorly cooked). but the best dish was the chicken in an epoisses sauce with roasted potatoes. It was among the best dishes we had in France. Great venue, good service, and very good food.
