If you have had real Mexican food before, this place will infuriate you. It is a sad excuse for Mexican food. It is impostering as Mexican food. Plus, the price was double what you could get for an authentic burrito in Los Angeles. I threw away something like 7 – 8 euros. I ordered a chicken burrito that was utterly bland and flavorless. I kept biting into it and hoping the next bite would have some flavor. But nope. Every single ingredient had not been seasoned or was seasoned incorrectly. Weird aftertaste, too. You have to pick between adding cheese and sour cream — otherwise if you want both, you have to pay extra. What?! Also: there were no hot sauce bottles or packets available. Again, what?! I went into Chaak feeling hopeful from the good reviews and left with an unhappy, not very full tummy(burrito was on the small side). Actually I was just kind of angry this place can was so popular — there were tons of people there. I hate to say it, but French people don’t know what real Mexican food is and think this place is good. Ha! So I warn you, fellow lovers of Mexican food, stay far far away!

Many people will attest that it’s quite hard to find a decent burrito in Paris. Or at least, the kind of thing you might be used to in other cities. At a glance, this place looks like a typical burrito takeaway joint you might find in other cities, with the options to choose from spicy chicken, pulled pork or veggies and all the usual extras. The location is inside the Chatelet mall so if the weathers nice you can take it to the park just outside. I took the veggie option for 7.5 €(guac included, 9 € with a can) — it didn’t look very special while the server was putting it together but actually it tasted pretty good! I would go back again if I’m in need of a quick burrito fix.
