My friends and I stopped at La Belle Ferroniere for lunch on the first day of our Paris vacation! It is conveniently located on a side street off the Champs Elysées, right across from Hotel Frontenac. It was the perfect place to welcome us to Paris! The menu had a great variety of food: crepes, croissants, soup, sandwiches, burgers, salads and a great list of desserts! I ordered the French cheese plate– which came with a selection of French cheese, toast, and a side salad. It was everything I had hoped for! The cheese was phenomenal. The platter offered a perfect variety of different flavors and texture. I ordered a glass of wine with my cheese. Our server helped me pick the wine based on my description of what I was looking for. His recommendation was perfect! My one friend ordered the French Onion soup, which she loved. My other friend decided on a bacon Cheeseburger(which was hilarious). I had a bite of the cheeseburger and I have to admit, it was delicious. For dessert, my friends and I split a Crème Brulee and a Chocolate Mousse. Both were divine! The servers were exceptionally friendly. They made us laugh throughout the meal and were very patient with our horrible pronunciation of French menu items. Luckily, the menu had English translations under the French menu items.

Another charming café off of the Champs Elysées. While slightly pricier than quality brasseries in other neighborhoods, La Belle Ferronière was, on the first occasion, an enjoyable lunch spot. The second time was deceiving. The first time I ordered the magret de canard with gratin dauphinois and my dining companion ordered the daily lunch special: leg of lamb with new potatoes and an apple-mango crumble for 19.90 €. Too bad it wasn’t 90 cents less, so it could fit on the Ticket Resto card! The duck breast was coated in a not-too-sweet balsamic glaze, and its potato accompaniment was delicious, albeit slightly undercooked. I was hoping it would come with a small salad(the plates were certainly large enough to fit one), but instead it came with fresh cherry tomatoes(which would have been better slightly roasted). The lamb was good, and the dessert just okay(I’m not sure it was entirely made on site). My second lunch at this spot was a little less tasty, and as my partner had gotten the plat+dessert lunch formula that was listed on the board, when we ordered the plat du jour(a filling but bland tuna tartine) and one of the daily desserts, we figured it would cost 19.90 € as well. When the check came, it was a whopping 25 €. Why? Trickery. One dessert has a barely visible asterisk next to it, and only that dessert is eligible for the menu price. Not at all cool. Apart from that, the waiters were attentive and efficient, the service speedy.

The food was fine, but very, very expensive for what you got. We went there because my son really wanted a hamburger, but had not anticipated a 20-Euro hamburger. My daughter ordered an enjoyable Caesar Salad, my husband had a forgettable seafood dish, and I had a Croque Madame that was truly nothing special. The wait staff was delightful and very attentive, but the food itself was not worth the price.

Tourist trap, crap. Worst, driest Croissants in the world. You can find better in a Texas supermarket and your breakfast won’t cost 45 Euro. Came here for breakfast because were told the croissant was fresh. It isnt. It is days old, overpriced and not of the standard you might find in a Costco aisle but in the sell by date section. The coffee is weak and they cover your breakfast in Paprika. As far as Parisian breakfasts are concerned, this is total shit. Very disappointing. Worst, driest Croissants in the world and expensive to boot. Never again.

The wife and I had passed La Belle Ferronière several times during our time in Paris on our way back to our hotel. While brasseries like La Belle Ferronière are as abundant in Paris as Starbucks are in Seattle, we noted that it always seemed to be busy regardless of the time of day/night. Located just off George V on a corner across the street from a Cartier store, we decided to stop for a late lunch at La Belle Ferronière for a light snack and some wine. Doing the Parisian thing, we sat outside facing the street to enjoy the nice weather and people watch. Service was prompt and professional. I ordered the charcuterie plate and a glass of red wine. Prices were comparable to other bistros and brasseries. My wine was fine. My charcuterie, on the other hand, was a disappointment. While it was a reasonably generous portion, the salami, prosciutto, and ham were okay, if unremarkable. However, the terrine was terribly dry, with a consistency of canned tuna with every bit of moisture squeezed out, and bland. It wasn’t good. Perhaps I chose the wrong dish and La Belle Ferronière does other things much better. That said, my experience gave me the impression that La Belle Ferronière was just an average place that was more style than substance.

I guess it wasn’t terrible. The location is great. But the food was lackluster and very expensive. For the same price, I had some amazing dinners in Paris. You should be able to find something better without going too far.

Located off the main George V road, this place caters to tourists and locals alike. My husband and I stopped here for cocktails and a light lunch. We found the serving sizes of our respective lunches to be very generous in size. Wait staff spoke English but entertained my desire to practice French and were very friendly. 14 € for a glass of Cliquot was cheaper than other places in the city. Also they offer free Wifi.

Great service, generous portions, good food. This is a French restaurant that is tailored to tourists — the waiters are friendly and speak English and will explain the menu to you. I would say the food is delicious but not necessarily gourmet. A nice ambiance sitting outside in front, not overwhelming or overcrowded but still enough people walking by for interesting people watching.

A great place to have on your radar for all those times you thought you would stumble upon the perfect Parisian café near the Champs-Elysées and then didn’t. The food, prices and service are all just a bit better than elsewhere making it a real gem in an otherwise disappointing and overpriced area.

As with everything in Paris it cost an arm and a leg. I ordered the Lamb and a beer. While I expected small portions I was surprised. I note that the burgers ordered by the others were of reasonable size.

Really a fun stop. Busy but with a table for us! After joking about coming to Paris to get a cheeseburger, my 16 year old ordered Tartare. A polite question from the waiter, and then great food. Make sure to try the specials.

First clue is chewy old bread. Steak awful, almost uncut-able without knocking the table over. My date held the table while I sawed away. Chips overcooked and hard. Fish drowning in oil. Pass.

Since my first choice restaurant had a line out the door and around the corner, I settled on La Belle Ferroniere. Service was actually pleasant, which i was a little shocked about since I’ve heard such horror stories about Parisians hating Americans. In hopes of having amazing French food, I ordered the Steak-Frites, French Onion Soup, & also the Cheese platter. Sadly, all of these dishes were extremely unmemorable and it was a bit on the pricey side. The saving grace for this restaurant was the service which was actual normal to my American standards and the FREEWIFI.

Good place nice staff and free wi-fi. Visited Paris and wanted to enjoy french local food. Ordered escargot(my favorite and only french dish I knew and wanted to try in France). Not disppointed at all with garlic-butter-dried mince spinach on top. The burger is just a burger no bun. Beef served raw in cool temperature. I forgot what it called. The waitstaff didn’t recommend for first time visitor. So I skipped that and got duck. It was a nice meal.

The duck confit was delicious! So moist, flavorful and crunchy in the right parts. The mash potatoes put American mash potatoes to effin shame. The pasta was alright so don’t order that! I didn’t try anything else but the duck was lovely!

Good coffee, reasonable prices. Non-tourist, and we got that«you’re Americans» feel from some, but good coffee when needing a pickup from a great night before…

We just went here a few times to get coffee in the mornings. The coffee and the prices are decent, the service was a little spotty. I imagine that some of the employees were not fans of Americans…

Stopped in for a spell for Berthillon. Running up to the bar, we made our request. The staffer there — maybe the bartender — probably thought we were insane by our conversation and mannerisms; he wasn’t the warmest guy around — but he still got us our Berthillon ice cream, and fast. Dessert was served in a high metal cup with pleasing Gavottes wafers. As for the delightful orbs of sugar, the pear flavor was the best. Prices were decent for the location, too. We scarfed down everything so fast that we didn’t get any decent photos. Several scoops of ice cream later, we paid, tipped(he was fast, more important than friendly when you have Berthillon cravings), and left.
