Service is excellent. Waiter spoke perfect English. The waiter took all his time explaining the menu. The food was very well presented and the waiter explained all the different types of dim sum.

Maybe I’ve been ruined by Taiwan’s own Din Tai Fung, but no Xiao Long Bao dish has ever quite lived up to those visits. Having said that, La Maison du Dim Sum will certainly satisfy even an aggressive craving for dim sum of any sort, and their fast and friendly service will make sure your entire experience is enjoyable.
Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere?
While La Maison du Dim Sum isn’t exactly in the thick of the tourist friendly spots around Paris, it’s tucked away in a nice part of town that’s certainly worth walking at the very least. Once inside, a trilingual staff will make sure you’re taken care of in an atmosphere that’s quaint and comfortable. The highlight of my Saturday evening visit was the speed of service, which ended up producing some XLB no more than ten minutes after I’d ordered it. Star Granted.
Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost?
My six piece order of Xiao Long Bao came in at € 9,00, or € 1,50 per piece. That’s not exactly knock out value, but it’s not unreasonable either given the wide variety of dim sum that’s available here and essentially nowhere else in the city. Other menu items are priced accordingly, and it honestly wouldn’t be difficult to be in and out while fully satisfied for € 10 or so. Star Granted.
Stars 3 and 4: How was the food?
I’ll start off here with my definition of the perfect Xiao Long Bao, which is of course exactly what Din Tai Fung dishes up — tasty and soft casing that holds within its bosom a decent portion of soupy goodness and a small ball of pork that produces the aforementioned goodness. La Maison du Dim Sum was certainly in the same ballpark here, but there was room for improvement as well. The casing was a bit firm and sticky, and while there was a very generous portion of pork inside, there was no soup, which made the whole thing a bit dry. Flavor wise the components were there, but I’ll admit I needed a bit of soy and hot sauce to bring the dish together. Not bad, but not what I would call elite. Single Star Granted.
Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could?
La Maison du Dim Sum probably has the widest selection of dim sum in Paris, but I wouldn’t say the quality is quite high enough to have me coming back every time I’m in town. No Star Granted.

10.9 € la formule illimitée avec un buffet fait maison, c’est quand même bien pratique dans le quartier.
Les dims sum sont frais et cuits à la vapeur devant nous, une partie du buffet étant réservé pour eux, la chef devant né nous les sert que s’ils sont parfaitement cuits, sinon on attends.
Les autres plats du buffet sont bons, c’est souvent les même qu’ailleurs, pas de nouveauté mais au moins ici ils sont fait maison. Résultat il faut parfois attendre car il n’y en a plus.
Les desserts sont pas extraordinaires mais ce n’est pas pour ça qu’on va dans un restaurant asiatique.
La salle est grande, elle peut contenir d’assez grands groupes et on peut réserver. Mais elle est parfois bruyante, tout dépend du nombre de personnes présentes.
Je crois que le soir c’est à la carte, mais je n’ai jamais essayé.

A great dim sum place in Paris — probably one of the best. The quality of the food many not be as unique or refined as the best dim sum restaurant we find in LA but their food is way above average.
The dim sum are generously filled with ingredients that are very fresh. There are about 7 different steamed dim sum as well as a pan fried bite. They also serve a selection of deep fried bites, the mini-​nem is absolutely delicious.
Family owned. The owner herself steams and pan fries in the window of the restaurant. The staff was extremely friend during our visit.

Parfait le midi !
C’est un buffet à volonté de qualité pour un prix correct le midi qu’on nous propose. Ici, la spécialité est spoilée par le nom du restaurant: les dim sum vapeurs faits sous nos yeux ! Les serveurs sont nombreux (bien qu’ils n’aient presque rien à faire) et sympathiques. Quant à la salle, elle se compose de deux parties. Une agréable pour manger le midi, très lumineuse et décorée de façon moderne sans tomber dans le kitsch dont ce genre d’établissement a tendance à raffoler… La seconde est destinée aux groupes et très souvent réservée, elle permet de passer un bon repas entre amis ! De nombreux plats étant un peu épicés, le serveur a la bonne idée de disposer une bouteille d’eau carafe fraîche par personne (oui oui !) et c’est un plus !
Je vous recommande tout particulièrement: les nems au bœuf, le bœuf au caramel, les nouilles.
Je né vous recommande pas trop: les rouleaux de printemps, la salade de fruit (souvent pas très fraîche).

Un prix tout-​à-​fait raisonnable pour un buffet à volonté, avec des plats d’une très bonne qualité !
Après s’être installé à une table dans ce cadre classique (à part le Jéroboam de Grey Goose dont on se demande un peu d’où il sort) et agréable, on peut commencer à aller se servir au buffet. Catalogue rapide (et sans doute non exhaustif): rouleaux de printemps, riz (blanc ou cantonnais), nouilles, divers plats cuisinés de viandes, poissons, crevettes, frites (on peut être surpris de voir ça dans un restaurant chinois mais finalement elles ont un goût très original et qui va bien avec le reste), poulet frit au saké, nems, beignets de crevette … et surtout les dim sum, des bouchées vapeurs cuites en direct par une dame installée à la fenêtre du restaurant: c’est l’âme de cette adresse et c’est à manger par dizaines.
En dessert, on peut se terminer l’estomac avec des perles de coco ou des beignets de pomme ou de banane, ou bien rester sur quelque chose de plus sein (de type salade de fruits).
Pour terminer, l’ensemble du personnel est très sympa. On pourra juste regretter qu’il n’y ait pas plus de plats différents, pour pouvoir picorer gaiement.

Absolument délicieux. La formule à 10,90e le midi (y compris le samedi) écrase de loin toutes la concurrence médiocre faite de plats surgelés et mollement réchauffés pour vous servir un buffet insipide.
A la maison du Dim Sum, tout est frais, fait maison, les yeux et le ventre se régalent, le service est très sympathique et discret. Chacun des plats m’a ravie, de l’entrée au dessert. Toutes les bouchées pour se mettre en appétit sont un vrai régal, je salive rien qu’à l’idée d’y regoûter.
A conseiller les yeux fermés !

Alright people, to anyone saying that this dim sum is comparable to LA dim sum, you need a reality check or you need to go back to LA and have me take you around. Maybe it was the fact that I went and it was a lunch buffet. I guess I should have known from the fact that it was a buffet. But I definitely feel a little fooled by the pictures online…
This wasn’t real dim sum, guys. Sorry. But to all y’all thinking that this is a dim sum place, it actually just has 4 little «vapeurs» (steamed dim sum) and one of them I have never seen in my life after uncountable experiences having dim sum in Hong Kong, LA, SF, and China. It was definitely a self-​created, not very tasty rice ball thing that was just strange.
Anyways, aside from the small portion of dim sum they had available, there were also fried rice and side dishes like sautéed vegetables and such. They all had the same sauce.
Don’t come here expecting real Asian food! Nobody there even spoke Chinese!

Que dire? en un mot: parfait !
Une vraie perle rare avec un menu à volonté à 10.90 € le midi: un choix varié et de très bonne qualité ! Des boulettes «têtes de lion» à mourir, des samossas exceptionnelles, des boules coco comme je n’en avais mangé de si bonnes, du poulet au saté parfumé et délicieux… etc.
Des bacs de petites tailles, mais ravitaillés en permanence et un service de qualité (ici, on prends vraiment soin des clients, les assiettes sont débarrassées comme par magie sans jamais gêner, les bouteilles d’eau sont amenées à table avant même d’avoir à demander, les conseils et explications sont donnés avec plaisir et le sourire est au rendez-​vous !!)
Un personnel vraiment agréable, un endroit propre et un cadre magnifique !
Un seul regret peut-​être: n’avoir pas l’estomac assez grand ! Pour sûr, je reviendrais !

J’avais vraiment envie de mettre 5 étoiles, mais j’ai quand même été déçue par la nourriture. Et comme c’est un restaurant, et que le but de la venue est –normalement– de manger, je né m’engage pas dans cet excès…
Alors puisque je parle de la nourriture, je continue sur la lancée, et je garde le meilleur pour la fin !
Le soir menu à volonté à 17 € (minus quelques dix ou vingt centimes). À volonté sur TOUT: entrée + plat + dessert. En entrée dim sum grillés (ce sont des gyozas, ça n’existe pas à Hong Kong ces choses là…) + dim sum frits + dim sum vapeurs (les vrais dim sum traditionnels de Hong Kong).
Les «gyozas» n’ont pour moi pas d’intérêt, c’est pas qu’ils sont mauvais mais je né suis pas venue pour en manger. Les vapeurs né sont pas assez cuits, la pâte n’est pas assez molle à mon goût. C’est vraiment dommage parce que coté farce, c’est pas mauvais. Ils ont un bon assortiment ! Et les frits né sont pas exceptionnels, pour certains il y a même un peu trop de friture, mais ça reste très bon.
En plat, les têtes de lion se mangent très bien, le tartare concombre+tomate+crevette a bon goût. En dessert je déconseille les perles de coco…
En bref: j’ai fait ressortir les points négatifs mais soyons d’accord, tout se mange quand même très bien, et même si c’est loin d’être transcendant, ça reste tout à fait honnête. Il né faut juste pas s’attendre à une explosion de saveurs et de textures.
Maintenant, parlons du reste.
Le cadre: très mignon ! Le restaurant est grand, et malgré une devanture que je trouve assez kitch, l’intérieur est bien éclairé, plutôt bien espacé. La déco fait très chinois sans trop de fioriture ni babioles inutiles: c’est épuré, sobre et vraiment très agréable. Même les toilettes ont le droit à leur petite touché de décoration (et en plus elles sont très propres).
La présentation des plats: les assiettes sont simples également (toute blanches) mais avec des formes originales. Tantôt rondes, tantôt triangulaires, tantôt rectangulaires. Bah oui, c’est bête mais ça fait son petit effet ! De même pour les petits parasols qu’on voit se balader dans tous les desserts qui valsent entre les mains des serveurs.
Le service: ah ! Le service ! MEILLEUR SERVICE DE TOUS LES TEMPS. Je suis tombée amoureuse de toutes ces personnes. Celui qui a pris ma réservation au téléphone et qui nous a accueillis et placés. Celui qui nous a servi tout au long du repas. L’autre serveuse. Celle qui tenait la caisse. J’ai interagi avec chacun d’entre eux à un moment ou un autre de la soirée et ils ont tous été par-​faits. D’une gentillesse incomparable, toujours doux, souriants, discrets et ultra-​efficaces.
Mon copain cherchait quelque chose par terre à un moment, je né comprenais pas ce qu’il avait bien pu faire tomber. Même pas le temps de lui poser la question qu’une serveuse vient lui apporter une nouvelle serviette (et oui, c’était ça qu’il lui manquait). Excellent timing pour les carafes d’eau et pour le service. Tout est fluide, sans qu’on se sente pressé: les assiettes suivent leur rythme bien tranquillement. Le serveur est à l’écoute. Je né m’éternise pas plus, vous avez compris mon message.

Super restaurant que ce soit le midi ou le soir. Les formules à volonté sont vraiment intéressantes: 16 € et quelques, pour des dim sum plus plat et dessert. La déco est jolie, pas kitsch et plutôt sobre, la service adorable et toujours souriant. Bref un rapport qualité/​prix sans faute !

The highlight of this restaurant was definitely the friendly and welcoming staff.
Myself and two others had dinner reservations for 9:30pm. Note that the place closed at 10:30pm so we figured that by the time of our reservation we would have a half empty restaurant. That was definitely not the case. We arrived to a packed restaurant and had to wait for 15 minutes before being seated.
The hard part of the restaurant was deciphering the menu (Dim Sum Section) which really wasn’t clear. On the left was a description of the all you can eat and on the right was a breakdown of the a la carte Dim Sum. The difficulty in the menu was therefore two-​fold.
First with the All You Can eat section you basically take what they give you. The right side you were able to order Dim Sum but it was sold as per-​piece and not the typical basket of two or three items, all in all a bit confusing.
Second difficulty was that once we had decided and were placing our order, we were told that they would not allow one of us to order the all you can eat and the others to take the a la carte, I don’t recall this being mentioned on the menu.
Regarding the food itself, it was ok. They say that all the Dim Sum is fait maison but to be honest, I can’t say that everything tasted homemade. If I was betting I would say it was a mix of some homemade and the others coming from the likes of Tang Freres.
Overall this was a good restaurant with decent prices, but I don’t think there was enough here to get me to go back. If you are looking for a quick Dim Sum fix in the center of Paris this might get you over the hump until you make it over to the 13eme.

Reviews were great. My husband loves dim sum. So we figured let’s go get some.
For us, it was A-​OK. Probably tasted better to us because we were tired of pizza, sandwiches, etc.
loved that they have an all you can eat option. they have a set menu for their all you can eat. once they bring out their set menu items you’re allowed to inform them of which items you’ll like to eat more of.
why i loved that they have an all you can eat option? the price for it was pretty reasonable compared to everything else we’ve been eating in europe. it gave us the opportunity to try a little bit of everything.
did it taste like dim sum in LA? unfortunately not. nothing was super memorable to me and once i tried each item i didn’t really wanna reorder anything. the XLB had no juice inside of it. which i totally was disappointed about. esp when XLB is known to be good because it is juicy.
service was pretty good. food came out really quick. you’ll leave smelling like deep fried food since they make some of the food right in front of the window. overall, if you want to get more bang for your buck and wanna have some asian food then i would say try it out. if not it’s definitely passable.

Restaurant tres sympathique dans un quartier que j’adore personellement. La serveuse a ete tres acceuillante, sympathique en plus d’etre jolie ;) quant a la nourriture, rien a dire. Les dim sums a la vapeur sont aussi bon qu’à la maison, les dim sum beignets aussi. Et les desserts, un vrai délice, on sent vraiment qu’il s’agit de produit maison. Un lieu a recommander veritablement et ou je reviendrai surement a de nombreuses reprises !

surprisingly good dim sum in Paris — who would have thought haha. on our first night in paris, it was raining and we didnt want to venture too far out for dinner so La maison du Dim Sum was closest to our apartment. i noticed the staff speaking to each other in Chinese so i figured this place had to be somewhat decent for dim sum haha. luckily our server spoke very fluent english and she was able to explain the restaurant concept to us — which is basically all you can eat for dinner at around 17 euros. me and justin b. thought this sounded like a good deal so we thoguht why not haha.
so the meal is served to you in ‘courses’ — first course is a selection of your typical dim sum selection like har gow and shiu mai and other steamed dumplings. then its a plate of deep fried goodies like egg rolls. then we were able to choose an entrée with rice which was like a chicken satay and fried rice. then after those 3 rounds you can ask for more of anything that you had already been served. we were so full at this point that we couldnt do a 2^nd round of anything but overall the food was pretty good. comparable to dim sum places that i’ve been to back at home in LA. we decided to just move onto a dessert course and we chose fried bananas.
all in all — great friendly service, English friendly for tourists, and good asian dim sum that will satisfy any asian food craving that you may have haha

Assortiment de Dim sum vapeurs, grillés et frits plutôt varié

Niiiiiice. That restaurant succeeded in making me appreciate Chinese food (I don’t know why, but I have never been a huge fan of Chinese dishes, except fried appetizers — so that place was a cool discovery).
Definitely go for the 16.80 € all-​you-​can-​eat menu. The highlight is on dim sums, served fried, grilled and of course steamed. They bring you plates with one of each dim sum they serve, for you to taste (about 12 varieties in total, mainly with pork and with shrimp). Everything is sooooo good, and you can re-​order as many as you wish. Only downside: my boyfriend is not a huge fan of shrimp, so we asked whether we could get more of the pork and chicken ones, and it was apparently not possible. Besides this lack of flexibility, we loved everything about these dim sums.
You can then choose main courses (marinated chicken brochettes, grilled shrimp, meat balls, served with rice or noodles) and desserts (fresh fruit salad, coconut specialty, banana doughnut). They are good, but not as exceptional as the dim sums though.
Final good point: the waiters are really terrific. They explain every single item from the menu, bring you water without you having to ask for it and are overall super nice.

The best Dim Sum place in Paris!
Comparable with all the Dim Sum (steamed bites) that I had the chance to try in my travels (Los Angeles in particular where there is an important concentration of Dim Sum place), this one is probably the cleanest and most tasty, an unexpected surprise in the middle of Paris.
The family business is run by Mika and Christine, a charming young couple. The service is very professional and everything is homemade.
Menus are more than affordable, satisfaction guarantee! Plus, there are a lot of parking spot around!

Il faut sans hésiter partir sur le menu Dim Sum à volonté à 16 € 80. Certes il comprend également un plat et un dessert, mais tout à fait inintéressants.
Côté Dim Sum donc. Vous commencerez avec un assortiment vapeur, essentiellement porc/​crevette et contenant à peu près 5 variétés. Viennent ensuite les raviolis pékinois puis les dim sum frits.
Il est indiqué qu’ils sont faits maison. Pour ceux à la vapeur j’avoue y croire, pour les frits je né sais pas, je les ai trouvé un peu «lourds».
L’affaire est donc très intéressante, même si l’offre manqué d’originalité mais bon, à ce prix on né peut pas tout avoir :)
Un bon plan si on est dans le coin, ou pour changer!

I didn’t have high hopes — how could you in any all-​you-​can-​eat deal? You go in with the caveat that it couldn’t be great. And yet, the dim sum was quite fresh, and the array of Chinese dishes was varied enough to satisfy all tastes. I do wish there was more variety to the dim sum itself, but I appreciated that the lady doling out the bamboo baskets was generous and non-​judgmental no matter how many times I went back (that is, an unladylike amount).
There was only one server seating, getting drinks, and bussing all the tables, but he was highly efficient and friendly from beginning to end. He was quick to greet everyone coming in the door, and made sure we had enough water, fresh napkins, and a good meal. The price cannot be beat, and this was one of my better experiences with Asian food in Paris.

Great brunch buffet that serves really fresh food and is affordable at 10.90 euros. They have a nice selection from fresh spring rolls and salad, steamed dumplings, rice and traditional dishes (meat and veggie). All around a great deal, very welcoming service and there are even a range of dessert choices if you need something sweet to end your dining experience.
