We ate here twice during our recent 10 day stay in Paris. The two guys running the place are fun and really took care of everyone. It is a small place so make a reservation. The foie gras, the duck(magret de canard), and lamb shank were all excellent. Our friends had the oysters one night and said they were great. Quite a few wines by the class are offered if you don’t want to go with a bottle — I drank the Verre De Medoc and the Sancerre was also nice. We stared with glass of champagne. They also had a nice Sauterne wine after dinner. If you are in the rue Cler area I would recommend you try this for a small restaurant experience, good bistro food and a fun time.

We were 4 for dinner last night. We had a lovely tiny table by the window… a bit more quiet in our little corner as when it’s full the noise can be a bit distracting but NOT bad. We had the cod in tarragon sauce but it came with plain white rice and unappealing vegetables. The wine of the evening was lovely and a bargain at 23Euros. Our waiter was crisp and efficient and politel

We checked into our hotel and after getting settled in we asked the front desk if they had a recommendation within walking distance. This was the place they sent us to. When we think of a cozy French restaurant this is the place that will always come to our minds. There are only about 10 – 13 tables inside. The place always seems busy with not only travelers like ourselves, but locals too. Upon entering we were immediately greeted and welcomed to a table. The service was prompt. The menu is presented on handwritten chalkboards, very easy to read and understand in both English and French. It was fun to watch the staff move the chalkboards around to anyone new that came in. The food was excellent! We ordered the rack of lamb with thyme. The dish was evenly cooked from edge to center, absolutely beautiful, tender, Ooooh so melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Thank you for setting the bar with our first meal in France!

Better than most. The menu was in a chalk board which made its way around the restaurant when new tables arrived. Pics posted of menu because there is not one to be found online Great, really amazing service. Tiny, cozy corner place. Good wine. Exceptional raw oysters. Wow. My scallops were overlooked and came with the«foot» still on them! Cream sauce they were bathing in was good. Husband had the lamb shank which he said was gamy. Such nice people that work there. I’d go back.

This restaurant was our favorite in Paris we went 2x. The food is great, the service is wonderful. They also have great wine selections! The location and atmosphere were good too. The apparatiff that was suggested before our meal was excellent it was just white wine and a fruit juice I had blueberry and my husband had black currant both were great! The scallops with homemade butter sauce I had for entrée were the best scallops I have ever had! The wild mushroom in garlic I had as a starter was very good too. My favorite dessert was soft meringue in a cream sauce very delicious. You must go while in Paris! Oh they have a blackboard menu and have it in English as well :)

Visited in Sept 2014 I really enjoyed this small restaurant in the 7eme arrondissement. Loved the escargot and the crème brûlée. Pricey, even for Paris. Also enjoyed the house white wine. The staff was friendly as well. Overall a great dinning experience.

Decent food, fair portions, yet pretty pricy. Steak was large but fatty, it came with a REALLY salty gravy-esque sauce(definitely ask for it on the side)… We also asked for it medium-rare and we got rare. The duck was okay but kind of dry, it came with a super-sweet ginger honey sauce(I also recommend that you ask for it on the side). The snails were pretty good, they don’t taste exceptionally different/better from any other escargot I’ve tried in Paris. The fries(steak fries) were great, but too salty. Overall, it wasn’t a BAD dinner, but nothing to write home about. I wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit.

I walked in with a family of 7 and was surprised to be seated fairly quickly, and the servers were definitely kind. The place is not meant for large families… only because it’s quite small. I was pleased to see that the menu was both in French and English upon ordering. My brother and I both decided to order the«Generous Sirloin Steak» and the«Duck Fillet.» I thought the Duck was fabulous, but UNFORTUNATELY the steak was«generously full of FAT» and I asked for Medium and recieved a few rare pieces. The restaurant was decent but it was definitely pricey for the quality of the food. The server also came up to the door and opened it for the parents and my grandma which was the least he could have done after a 210 Euro meal.

Authentic food and cozy environment. Unfortunately, the experience was soured by having to wait 30 minutes for a table that had been reserved in advance. The restaurant seems to have become more touristy lately– although the recommendation was made by a local friend, most other diners were American(possibly due to the proximity to the Eiffel tower?) My friends had braised lamb and duck leg, while I chose a pear and cheese salad. Once we sat down, the food came quickly, was well prepared, and a wonderful taste of pure French cuisine. The couple beside us had ordered the bone marrow, which I instantly regretted not ordering. Unfortunate that the rest of the experience did not measure up to the main event.

My husband and I visited Paris last fall. Our hotel was close to this restaurant. Every time we walked by it was busy. It was small but looked intriguing. So we went over one night and it appeared closed. But we found out it did not open until 7. We waited and found a cozy area to sit. The selections were hand written on a chalk board and when I spotted scallops, I stopped right there. The food was great and service the same. The owner speaks English which made us feel even more comfortable. Crime Brûlée was fantastic. Cannot wait to return. And so close to the Eiffel Tower and all the action! Barb Adams

This was our first time at 7eme Vin. The food was delicious, wines were great, staff was very friendly. Also, we loved the location and how close it is to the Eiffel Tower. This restaurant is a great value for the quality of food and the price. Highly recommend and definitely will be back next time in Paris. Last time my parents were in town they ate here 6 nights in a row!

We walked in without a reservation on our last night in Paris. We sat indoors at a table for 4. Our waiter was wonderful and brought me a taste of a sweet, white wine(the only kind I drink). Two of us had lamb chops, which were perfectly seasoned. My husband had a really nice piece of salmon. My girlfriend had a beautifully cut filet of beef. The food was really tasty and beautifully presented. The only problem we had was at the end of our evening. We wanted to split the bill in half(both couples added a tip). Our credit card had no problem. However, our friends were not able to use theirs. Our waiter said it was because of the machine. We were not happy because we had enough euros for our cab to the airport the next morning. I asked the waiter to call the credit card company, since the card was good, but he insisted it would take at least 45 minutes to get approval. This did not sound right to me. He told us we could use the ATM across the street, but that would have been a hefty fee for us. When I insisted he call the card company, he reduced the bill from 80 euro to 50 euro(we had enough case for that). Has anyone else encountered that problem.

Our favorite memory of Paris… We had reservations here for our first evening in Paris. We were quickly seated in a cozy corner by the window and welcomed with two glasses of Rosé. The place is small, cozy and only has about 10 – 12 tables. This, for us, is perfection. The menu is presented on a chalkboard which is moved around as needed, and I presume changed daily with the exception of their staples. We had the pan fried scallops, duck with ginger & rosemary and the fish, paired with a nice bottle of white wine. For dessert, we started with the crème brulee. Everything was amazing. This was the best meal and service we had in Paris. Service was impeccable. Very friendly and warm staff who truly take pride in their dishes and service. Now for the memorable part: Somehow we engaged in a conversation with a local French gentleman sitting next to us, and two ladies visiting from California one table over. One thing let to another and we closed out the restaurant around 2am with the owners and the lovely people we had just met(our dinner began at 8!). The after dinner drinks kept coming, as well as the desserts! On a recommendation from the local gentleman(who seems to be a regular there), we had the Poached Pears in a wine reduction sauce with Cinnamon. I thought I had died and gone to foodie heaven!!! We also had a flourless chocolate cake and countless glasses of after dinner drinks. This wasn’t just a restaurant to us — this was an EXPERIENCE which we will forever treasure. I hope our story gives you an insight as to the kind of people who run this place. They truly love what they do and they do it with passion. I was asked«how was everything?». My reply, «the perfect evening!». He then said, «No, just a regular night…» These people know how to enjoy life! We came back here on our last night in Paris and were welcomed with open arms.

WOW! This is french cuisine when it is best. Down to earth dinning with heavenly food. It is a small restaurant so it is a good idea to book a table. The waiters are very nice and give good advice with regards to wine. This is one of the restaurants I will keep visiting.

Super cute little restaurant, very well-priced, pretty good food. We started with a dozen oysters, which I could have done without. They actually weren’t that great. We then had the scallop/puff pastry dish which was sooo good — really flaky puff pastry and really juicy scallops. The creamy sauce added to the richness of this appetizer and brought all of the flavors together. My husband then had the rack of lamb and I had the filet. Both were pretty good, perfectly cooked(we ordered medium rare), and well-seasoned. We had a meringue custard for dessert which I really did not care for. I am not big on meringue, but they were out of crème brûlée and this was their next recommendation. The custard portion was delicious, though. Overall, the food was pretty good, but not great. I’d give the restaurant 3 stars based on the food, but I’m adding a star for great service and ambiance. We got lucky and snagged the last little table for 2 in an entirely packed restaurant. I would recommend making a reservation, even on a weeknight.

This place is perfect. Obviously everything seems closer to perfection when you are having a dinner in a tiny café in Paris, but this is for real. We were sent here by the front desk worker at our hotel around the corner. We were eating quite late and despite how small it was we are able(as a party of 5) to be seated immediately. The owner of the restaurant is absolutely delightful. When we arrived, he brought us a complimentary round of drinks — white wine with black currant liqueur. For my sisters who weren’t old enough(although he did his best to convince my parents they should partake as well), he crafted a mocktail of sorts. For dinner we started with escargot, and then had varied entrees, all very French fare and all very incredible. After dinner and dessert, the owner brought us all a round of green apple liqueur — again on the house. What would have already been a wonderful meal, he made really great through his friendliness and attentiveness.

I had my first dinner in Paris here and was nothing short of delighted! The food was every bit as good as the reviews said it was! Being tired from a full day of travel, we wanted to eat somewhere casual, intimate, inexpensive and yet delicious(of course, we’re in France!) on our first night in. Thanks to TripAdvisor, I was able to look up and track down the«best restaurants in Paris» with a budget, and this was one of the top 10 restaurants on the list. Sophisticated, palate-pleasing food that isn’t pretentious, I didn’t think it was possible to find such food in Europe. Being only a few blocks from the the Champ de Mars and Eiffel Tower, you would think the food would be incredibly expensive. On the contrary, the price is very reasonable, even to clueless foreigners like ourselves, and the menu was right up my alley. Presented on cute little chalkboards in front of the restaurant and brought to our table, I decided to go with the Duck in Raspberry Sauce, to be paired with some house wine. The duck was cooked perfectly, so tender I could cut it with my fork. The wine, a port, was a little strong for my taste, especially because that was my first glass of European wine but it grew on me. To start, we also had a goat cheese salad that was delectable! My travel companions and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the waiter was the sweetest. He kept asking us in French: «Se Bön?» or «Is it good?» even though he knew that we knew very little French and was very charmingly funny. He seemed to entertain another group of tourist ladies very well too, haha. My cousin enjoyed the restaurant so much that he kept insisting we return during our time in Paris. Unfortunately, we never did(so many other places to try!) but it will forever be one of our favorites. I will now return every time I have the pleasure of visiting Paris. After we finished our meal, we took a nice, leisurely stroll to see the Eiffel Tower light up at night before retiring to our hotel; it was the perfect Parisian experience. I’m so glad I went with TripAdvisor’s recommendations(great app for travel, by the way) because it let me eat at some of the best restaurants in Paris without going over budget, this being one of them. I would definitely recommend this as a first night or last night dinner to remember Paris by because it is so accessible(right next to a Metro station), affordable, and downright Parisian in its essence. The reservation system is not bad, our hotel was able to book us a table the very same night. If you haven’t yet, bookmark 7eme Vin on your next trip to Paris! You won’t regret it!

The 7ème vin is one of the most lovely places I’ve ever been to. Not only is it nicely located in the 7th arondissement close to the Eiffel Tower, it is nice and cozy, rather small, maybe 20 – 25 seats only. The staff is extremely friendly in a very nice and relaxed way that makes the whole scenery somewhat familiar and guarantees for a pleasant stay. The food and wine is reasonably priced(main courses around 17 to 26EUR) and absolutely delicious. Side dishes are different but always fresh and creative. The menus are presented on handwritten chalkboards in both English and French, and the waiters take time to explain everything and adjust if there are special requests. Being seated and watching the scene outside the wintergarden setup in the restaurant is a real pleasure. I was in Paris on a business trip for a week, and visited the 7eme vin three times. I could have gone every day because I enjoyed it so much. It’s the package of atmosphere, hospitality, delicious food and location. You gotta love it!
