Went here on the Rick Steve guide suggestion. Food was good(not amazing) and service was excellent. The 37 euro fixed price 3-course meal is nice but most options require additional«supplements» of euros making the choosing a bit difficult. A bit pricey for what it was — probably comes down to about 50 euros/person.

The staff are extremely nice and friendly, but I found the food to be underwhelming. The duck confit was the best item that we tried.

We cross referenced this place on trip advisor and Unilocal. The food gods were kind enough to let us experience this place! My husband and in-laws were having drinks just a block away and I walked over to this restaurant to look at the menu. The owner of the restaurant saw me outside glancing at the menu and he greeted me so happily and he was super welcoming. He apologized and said that there were no available seats inside and I can make a reservation for the next day. Unfortunately, I knew we would spending the following day at the Palace of Versailles, so I explained the situation. The owner must have saw the disappointment in my face and he graciously offered the outdoor seating area for us.(It had just finished raining, so I guess no one reserved the outside seats.). I happily took him up on his offer and got my family– we had such a good experience here. It’s a prefixed menu of 37 euro per person. You get one appetizer, one entrée, and one dessert. There is a classic menu that you can order from, but there is also a black chalkboard menu where you are also allowed to order from. Note: selected items are noted where you add 2 – 7 euros to the prefixed price depending on the complexity of the dish. They have an Italian menu and an English menu. The chalkboard menu is in Italian, but the owner sent his head waiter to come translate for us. They definitely get an A+ for customer service! From the classic menu, we ordered the lobster ravioli, confit de canard, and Chou farci(stuffed cabbage), three sorbets with homemade stewed fruit, cheese platter, and puff pastry. Lobster ravioli was delicious and you can tell it was made by hand and freshly done. My Confit de Canard(braised duck) was flavorful, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked/moist on the inside. My hubby’s stuffed cabbage was MASSIVE! It was packed with flavor. I think they used french onion soup as the base soup. The actual stuffed cabbage was like a brick(in a good way!) My mother and father in law ordered the short ribs(slow cooked for 7 hours.) The ribs were pretty good too, but I wish it had a small side of the sauce. We drizzled some leftover sauce from the stuffed cabbage on it and it definitely elevated the flavor. Everything was amazing. The house wine was decently price and delicious. The owner checked on us 3 times and the head waiter was extremely attentive.

We came here on night one of a week and a half in Paris and were so impressed! This place is seriously small and unimposing, but is the most delicious meal I’ve had in my three trips to Paris. All five of us shared an AMAZING charcuterie plate(I don’t even usually like pâté but theirs was wonderful) and each got unique appetizers and desserts. My favorites were the stuffed cabbage and the panna cotta. If I’m ever in Paris again I will return here!

Absolutely a must-have when we’re in Paris. Laurent is a gracious host, the setting is congenial, and the food top-notch. I grew up eating my grandma’s Slovakian stuffed cabbage and the chef’s grandmother’s chou farci recipe is an absolutely stunning«upmarket» version. Le Florimond is a restaurant my wife and I put at the top of our itineraries for Paris.

Our favorite restaurant in Paris on our recent visit. We arrived at 7:30PM on a recent Saturday night without a reservation and were graciously seated.(We had to be up the next morning at 4:00AM for an early flight.) The dining room is small. The service staff is warm, helpful and humorous. They were by far the most friendly servers we encountered in Paris. We both ordered from the 3 course menu for 37 euro. Each course dish was very well executed. Wine cost was reasonable. Great value.

This was one of my favorite restaurants my friend and I went to while in Paris. You MUST make a reservation. They fill up even during the week. And your reservation is pretty much you have a table for the night. The restaurant is only open for 3 hours for dinner and 2 hours for lunch time. As we walked in, the staff asked to take our coats to a coat room. Its a small place. Cozy. But you can definitely hear other peoples conversations. They brought us their specials written on a board. They had a 3 course dinner menu where you select an appetizer, entrée and dessert. My friend ordered the escargot as an appetizer. It was her first time trying i(the people at the table next to us told her it was really good). It was different than escargot that I am used to seeing. It came in a green sauce/soup like dish. She said it was delicious. I ordered the lobster ravoili as an appetizer. It was also really good. My friend and I both decided to try what the waiter recommended My friend got the duck as an entrée and I got their fish special of the day. Both were excellent. And for dessert we both got this strawberry and cream puff pastry. It was hugeee and a definite great way to end the meal. The waiters would never interrupt your conversation and would wait for a good moment to bring out your courses. They spread them out very well. They were so nice and friendly. It made the whole experience a great one. I would definitely come back here when I visit Paris again.

Oh how I love French dining. It’s an experience to be savored. The leisureliness of it. As a woman, it’s a pleasure to be addressed by the maître d’, removing & hanging my coat, and pulling out my chair. And that I, not my male companion, chooses the wine and then I am to taste and decide. Who wouldn’t love that?! The sophistication is equally partnered by the warmth of atmospher and the professional yet congenial service. The other diners appeared to be both French and American w a smattering of other nationalities. The atmospher was lively. We made reservations a few weeks prior to our arrival. The wine list is ample. Sancerre was the theme of my trip to Paris. The soup was compliments of the chef and it was velvety and warming. The fish of the day with the braised leeks was tender & the seasonings applied w a light hand so that the ingredients shone through. The famous stuffed cabbage is everything it claims to be abundant in richness and flavor. The desserts of crem brûlée and the beautiful poached pear were just right in their delicate flavor with just enough sweetness to satisfy. As we strolled through the misty streets back to the hotel we agreed that Le Florimond was the perfect meal for our first night in Paris.

I’ve been here a few times and the food is always consistent with very good service. Recently enjoyed lobster ravioli, duck confit; and sea bass. Very American friendly for first timers to Paris. if your hotel is in the rue Cler area, this is a good place to go.

This small bistro is absolutely fantastic. Make sure that you make a reservation because it is quite small but in a great and cozy familiar way. The house made blood pudding on a buckwheat crêpe was out of this world to start. As where the lobster ravioli. For mains the 9 hour short rib with Sichuan peppercorns was like butter. The veal was scrumptious and so was the confit de canard with perfectly crisp skin and juicy tender meat. The wine list was small but well chosen. One owner serves as maître d and the other as chef and they treat you like you are a local.

Food: 1⁄5 The lobster ravioli was so tasteless, my wife and I felt like we were eating air. For my main dish I had the slow cooked beef which tasted like a college student’s poor attempt at a crockpot meal. I was so excited for dessert because I thought there was no way they could screw it up, but sure enough the puff pastry tasted like it was made without sugar. We tasted pastries far superior at any of the local pastry shops for a fraction of the cost. Service: 2⁄5 Our waitress was kind enough, though lacked the competence of a great server. First, she came to our table and didn’t have the specials memorized and had to read from a chalkboard. Secondly, she overcharged us by 17 € for our wine! This has never happened to me EVER. Atmosphere: 1⁄5 It’s deafeningly quiet in the place. The tables are jammed next to each other and you can hear every murmur from both sides. They need to play music or something because it’s incredibly uncomfortable. All in all, easily the worst meal and experience we had on our 2 week Europe vacation.

We wanted to take our good friend out to dinner for her birthday. Because she works, and had to get up early the next day she requested that we stay in her neighborhood. We’re not familiar with the 6eme or 7eme otherwise known as «Little America» since the majority of the people there are either American/English speaking expats or visitors staying there. JJ researched and found«Le Florimond»; it had great reviews from several sources and even had the endorsement of Rick Steves, which to me is not always good, I’ll explain later. The restaurant is really cute, small but quaint. And, the staff couldn’t be nicer. We got seated while we waited for our friend and I noticed that 90% of the patrons were foreign and mostly American. I suppose not unusual for the 7eme arrondissement. They had a board with today’s suggestions and they have a prefix menu of 35 €, which included an entrée, plat, and dessert. Once our friend arrived, we both ordered a coupe de champagne to hit off the celebration and JJ ordered a pastis for our apéros. We all started with the«salad d’épinards, pickles d’ asperges et radis au vinaigre de pommes» loosely translated, a spinach salad with pickled asparagus and radishes with apple vinegar. It looked fine when it was served, but there was literally no taste. It was bland, plus extremely oily. I noticed our birthday celebrant kept sprinkling salt on her salad and so did I. For me, it was primarily to cut back on the oiliness and blandness. So not a good start. For our plat, our birthday celebrant ordered the«Confit de cuisse de canard et Corrèze, pommes de terre miettes» loosely translated, confit of duck with potatoes. The first thing that caught my eye was the presentation, or lack of. The potatoes looked like hash browns and the confit looked dry and overcooked and the salad just seemed misplaced. They really could’ve plated it much better. And, according to our birthday celebrant, the looks matched the taste. I had the fish of the day, which was the«turbot». I have to say the fish was cooked perfectly and tasted really good, after I salted it with sel de mer; the chantrelle mushrooms were good as well. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it was passable! JJ had the«Chou Farci» translated to stuffed cabbage. It was cooked in a clay pot as would a boeuf bourginon. I had a taste of it, and I liked it. It was nothing to scream about but it was a good, wholesome dish, just like they said, as Grandmother would make. I had the cheeses, nice selection so really nothing to add there. You can never really go wrong with cheeses in France, unless they serve it to you spoiled. Our birthday celebrant had the«Millefeuille à la vanille bourbon» loosely translated, puff pastry with a vanilla bourbon cream. Well this gave a new meaning to size isn’t everything. Our celebrant said that it was very bland and had absolutely no flavor. As the restaurant knew it was her birthday, they added a candle; a nice touch! JJ had the«Molelleux au chocolat noir, coeur fondant au Gianduja, coulis de litchis» loosely translated, chocolate fondant cake with coulis of litchis. It wasn’t anything special, and it was somewhat overcooked. It was more cake than fondant, so not a big hit with JJ. Summary: It is a small restaurant, so the noise level got really high once it filled up. It was very difficult to follow a conversation. The tourists seem very happy with the service and food. One thing I have to say, the service was impeccable. They’re friendly, observant and couldn’t be nicer; unfortunately, the food, not so. Going back to my Rick Steve’s comment we jokingly said that once Rick Steve put his stamp of approval on a restaurant it’s as good as the«kiss of death» as the restaurant becomes filled with American tourists and the quality seems to fall. I wanted so much to like this restaurant because the staff are so nice. Would I go back, probably not? I think I’ll leave this restaurant to the tourists.

We received a few recommendations for restaurants in Paris but we didn’t realize how popular they would be. The better ones almost always require a reservation — and most restaurants don’t open for dinner until 630pm or so(which was a surprise to us.) We found this place in our little Zagat book, and our concierge was nice enough to get us dinner reservations… for 930pm… but at least we got one. Never mind that we got off the wrong train stop and almost never made it, but luckily after walking almost a mile we did find the little gem. The owner is what being a good restaurateur is about. Welcoming, accommodating and great overall service. The best thing we had was the stuffed cabbage. Don’t let the word«cabbage» throw you for a loop. It’s not smelly stuff that you’d rather not eat. This dish had a thin cabbage layer, over a mound/slice of yummy beef goodness. My husband got a lamb dish, but he liked mine so much more. The only thing I would say you have to get used to is the close quarters. It’s not like the U.S. where we value our personal space. Most restaurants are housed in small areas and the tables are VERY close to one another. Still, it was a very enjoyable dining experience. Later that night we showed the owner his zagat rating and the fact that he had good ratings on Unilocal.(Evidently he’d never seen them before.) He just smiled and said…“when you do what you love”… and that was explanation enough. Go and enjoy. You won’t regret it. Just don’t forget to make reservations at least the day before!

We stumbled upon this place late one night, decided to ask if there was a table for two despite being told by some others that it was full. Amazingly, Laurent got us a table and a phenomenal dinner. We returned the following night, and the lamb special was fantastic. Laurent was charming and graciously shared his knowledge of food, wine, and the area. Thank you for the best meal we had during our week in Paris!

After wandering around Rue Cler, we made our way over to Le Florimond, where we had a very memorable dinner. So memorable, that I can clearly remember the food and our experience after several months of visiting. This restaurant is very small, so I highly recommend reservations. The atmosphere is cozy and very inviting, the staff is very attentive and friendly, and the food is amazing! Our amuse bouche was cauliflower panna cotta with sweet potato purée. I’m not really a fan of cauliflower or sweet potato, but for some reason I couldn’t stop eating this. I ended up eating all of mine, plus my dad’s… and aunt’s. Man, I sound like a heffer! I ordered the pork and eggplant stuffed veal with pasta and veggies. This was a very interesting dish, as I’ve never had veal prepared this way. It had a variety of textures and flavors that magically went really well together. My hubby had the steak and stew. Yup… his one entrée included both. The stew was incredibly tender and the steak had great flavor with the sauce. It was a ton of meat for one dish. The accompanying wine sauce was so good, the hubby actually got a little buzzed off of the ridiculous amount he had. He even purchased a jar to take home. For dessert we ordered the chocolate crepes with lemon ice cream and the napoleon with strawberries, raspberries, and vanilla bean custard. The crepes were presented similarly to a choco taco, but 1000 times better. The napoleon was by far, the biggest napoleon I’ve ever seen in my life. As soon as it hit the table, my initial reaction elicited a «that’s what she said» from the hubby… sigh. Anyways, it wasn’t like a traditional napoleon, or what I thought was a traditional napoleon. Regardless of how it was constructed, it was absolutely delicious! The vanilla bean custard was excellent! The prices here are very reasonable considering how large the portions are. This was one of our favorite meals in Paris, and I would definitely recommend coming here if you’re planning to visit.

I’m surprised this place hasn’t gotten more reviews! This is really one of my favorite restaurants in Paris, I go back every year. Even though I live in the states, the owner has recognized me and my family! He’s a really nice guy. To the food – absolutely great! There was this one appetizer that I’ll never forget, it was a boudin noir paste on the bottom on the cup, and melon crème fraîche on the top. Seriously the best. Their menus are seasonal, so you might not get it when you visit, but try! The rest of the food is amazing. Really. You will not be disappointed if you visit this place. I haven’t been the past 5 times: D Also, it’s a great date place! 5 minutes walking to the Eiffel Tower.
