Taverne de l’Arbre Sec

Esta taberna se encuentra en la esquina de la calle donde teníamos nuestro hotel, en una zona con bastante hostelería pero donde es complicado discernir: hay aparentes trampas para turistas, varios locales para gente dispuesta a gastarse un dineral en su cena, y unos cuantos gestionados por gente joven con paradigmas más frescos. Este está dentro de este último grupo.
El interior del local no es muy grande, pero lo compensan (al menos en esta época del año) con una abundante terraza. Pero lo que realmente llama la atención es el hilo musical, el mejor que he tenido en toda mi estancia: Bowie, Depeche Mode, Blondie… Buen gusto musical, maldita sea.
De comer pedimos una tabla mixta de carnes y quesos que, debido a las peculiaridades que separan los gustos franceses de los nuestros, incluía algún fiambre un poco excéntrico para nuestro paladar y los quesos nos resultaban demasiado cremosos o demasiado secos, ¡somos unos disconformes!
De platos principales pedimos una hamburguesa (también tienen opción vegetariana) que estaba buena sin ser espléndida, y un croque no sigue que, ajeno a otras experiencias similares, vino en formato tosta en vez de emparedado. Todo muy correcto.
El importe total fue del estilo de otros lugares similares, si acaso un pelín más barato, lo que lo convierte en una opción barajable si se está en la zona.

Bobun sans intérêt, cadre, accueil et ambiance corrects mais sans plus non plus. J’aurais bien mis 2 et demi mais comme ça n’existe pas et que je né suis pas forcément bien luné aujourd’hui ben ce sera 2.

Un bistrot typiquement parisien, avec tables serrées, beaucoup de monde, un service sympathique mais empressé et une cuisine plus que correcte. La formule entrée, plat et café du midi est à recommander. Une bonne adresse dans le quartier des Halles.

My husband and I visited around 3:30pm on a Saturday so it wasn’t busy at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had foie gras as a starter. It was our first time trying the dish so I’m not sure where it rates in comparison to others. It was very rich and paired well with toast and onion chutney it was served with. The waitress brought extra bread which was really nice. Due to preference, I probably wouldn’t order foie gras again. For the entrée, I had the tandoori chicken with rice. The rice was a little overcooked in my opinion, but it didn’t ruin the dish for me. The chicken was tender and the sauce was so flavorful. Overall, I was very pleased. My husband had steak with potato gratin and béarnaise sauce, which he loved.
The ambiance is relaxed and charming. We would definitely come back!

The charm of the look of this place wore off quickly. While the food was quite tasty, everything else was kind of a mess.
The insulation is bad, so it was quite cold.
The service was painfully slow, even compared only with the rest of similarly priced Parisian spots.
And then there was the mouse I saw in the bathroom.

This restaurant was perfect! Good food, good service. People were funny and smiling. We took house’s burger and it was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone stay in this area of Paris. Be careful, the restaurant is pretty small, so it should worth to take a reservation ;-)

This review is not based on any food or drink at the restaurant but purely based on the service received. We arrived at the restaurant and informed the hostess that we had two people. The hostess pointed at the restaurant (which had empty seats) and then turn around and left. We went outside and sat ourselves.
5 minutes passed and no servers came out to bring us a menu or water. We noticed another couple come in and were given the same treatment. They decided to also sit outside.
Another 5 minutes passed, the other couple decides to get up and leave. Since it’s been 10 minutes for us, we decided to follow them.
The space is cozy, but unfortunately, I can’t rate anything but the service.

First time in Paris and had lunch at this cute little restaurant after a trip to the Louvre. The waiter, an Italian looking guy, was so friendly and provided us an amazing service. The food was to die for. Absolutely delicious! Our favorite meal on France!

We had a late lunch yesterday before touring Le Louvre. We were a party of 5, 2 adults, 2 teens, and an 11 year old (picky eater). The staff was amazingly friend, helpful, and service was fast. My wife asked what were the most traditional French items on the menu, and the young lady waiting on us took it upon herself to go ask the kitchen and report back. The food came promptly (we were on a bit of a tight timeline — not generally good at a sidewalk café) and was amazing. Between us we had steak tartare, croque-​monsieur, a chicken w/​mushrooms and risotto, and their «famous» bacon cheeseburger. Everyone raved about their food, even the picky one. Highly recommend this place for an off the beaten path café.

Great champagne and great wine selection. The friendly staff will for sure be able to help you find a good combination with the food!
The food is simple, but great! A fair menu and most of the French classics are there. The steak tartare was great as well as the burger! Basic, but still good! And prices were very reasonable which makes this a place to visit both for lunch and a dinner. Make sure to sit outside and enjoy the vibrant city atmosphere!

On a recent family trip to Paris we had the good fortune to stumble upon Taverne d l’Arbre Sec. What a fantastic find.
For the tourists… The service was very friendly. Our French was very limited, although we made an attempt. We didn’t get any static over our language skills. Dining here was a very pleasant experience. Also tourists… in case you didn’t get the memo… don’t get pissed when your check isn’t brought out to you immediately. Just enjoy your meal and ask for it when you’re ready.
We brought 2 adults and 2 munchkins, so we were able to sample several dishes. The food was uniformly fantastic. I don’t know exactly how the French raise their beef, but it’s clearly superior to the stuff I eat at home. The S.O. had a fish dish and loved it as well. Two days later we came back and had pork and beef (again).
The munchkins had simple fare sandwiches and burgers. I stole a few leftovers off their plates and once again. the food was wonderful
We tried three different kinds of wines here as well. Just get the house wine. It was cheaper and the one we liked the best.
Get at least one or two desserts and split them as well. Very tasty, but nobody needs a whole dessert to them self.
I can’t reiterate how much we enjoyed this place. We’ll recommend it to anybody visiting Paris and when we make it back we’ll be there again.

Nettes Lokal in zentraler Lage, gut erreichbar und mit Gastgarten.
Rauchen erlaubt, freundliche Bedienung, übersichtliche Karte, Essen sah gut aus.
Der untere Teil des Lokals könnte aus dem Mittelalter stammen, die Luft ist muffig und die Toiletten scheinen ebenso aus einem anderen Zeitalter zu sein. Die Treppe runter ist mörderisch.

L’accueil est excellent même si le restaurant est déjà plein à craquer, cela fait vraiment très plaisir.
Le tartare au couteau est délicieux, bien accompagné d’un gratin dauphinois au lieu des sempiternelles frites.
Pour le dessert, le tiramisu est à tomber.
Il y a d’ailleurs une formule burger maison + tiramisu + café.

Corner bistro that’s mega comfortable. With tables inside and outside, it’s St. Honore’ neighborhood establishment since… forever. I can personally attest to the fact that they have: A nice selection of beer and wine, good burgers and fries, large salads, outstanding canard, very nice croque monsieur, espresso and lattes, apéritifs and digestifs as you like.
I eat here a lot ;-)

Allez, je suis trop une ouf, je mets 5 étoiles.
Je n’ai aucune raison de mettre chose, j’ai tout adoré.
Nous y sommes allés pour déjeuner (à 16h), le service était absolument adorable. 3 filles, toutes super sympas.
J’y ai pris une assiette de petites patates et de haricots verts qui étaient super bonne! Je m’attendais à manger des haricots sans goûts, un peu mous, en conserve quoi. Ils étaient tout croquants, goûtus, parfaits. Idem pour les patates.
La personne mystère qui m’accompagnait a pris une plancha mixte (charcuterie/​fromage), et pour avoir piqué un peu de fromage, je peux dire qu’il était très bon.
Pour terminer nous avons partagé un café gourmand, que j’ai trouvé adorable ET super bon. Mention spéciale pour le bébé fondant au chocolat, non seulement méga chou mais aussi super bon.
C’est tellement agréable de tomber sur une serveuse super gentille, arrangeante, qui vous laisse tranquille tout en étant présente quand il le faut.
L’ambiance y est vraiment détendue, je me sentais comme à la maison, et en ce jour neigeux, c’était parfait.
Le lieu en lui-​même m’a également beaucoup plu: ambiance vieille maison de campagne, avec poutres apparentes et mur en pierres.
Un tout bon pour ma part!

Endroit sympa surtout l’été pour un apéro entre amis ou un dîner.
Carpaccio et hamburger très bons.
Pour le dessert, le tiramisu au nutella un régal!

We didn’t have the energy to go far from the apartment we rented in Paris after today’s trip to Giverny and ended up here by default. We all enjoyed our food very much. Three of us had salads and one carpaccio. The service was very prompt, and super friendly. The prices are reasonable. The only drawback was that even sitting inside, we got a good dose of cigarette smoke, but that was mainly before our food arrived.
Updating my review: I can’t believe I forgot to mention the fried potatoes. They weren’t frites really, more like wedges and amazing. The best of the ten day trip.

Restaurant de quartier
Un restaurant de quartier très agréable où manger un bon burger (accompagné d’un gratin dauphinois au top) suivi d’un fabuleux tiramisu maison avec une addition très raisonnable surtout au vue du quartier. Une formule intéressante le midi pour manger sur le pouce.

Par définition, un avis n’est pas objectif et né porte que sur l’expérience vécue par celui qui l’écrit. Pour ma part l’expérience fut de courte durée et je né l’ai pas poussée jusqu’à passer commande.
La cause? Deux serveurs mal coordonnés qui vous font comprendre l’un après l’autre et avec le même manqué de subtilité et de courtoisie que si vous n’avez pas l’intention ferme et définitive de diner chez eux, ce n’est pas la peine d’oser leur demander une table en terrasse après 20h.
Quand on écrit bistrot sur sa devanture, il me semble que la moindre des choses c’est d’accepter des clients qui au départ né sont là que pour boire un verre et qui, la soirée passant, finissent potentiellement par diner.
Je peux comprendre qu’une enseigne fasse de son chiffre d’affaires par table sa raison d’être mais dans ce cas il me semble qu’elle se doit au moins de veiller à ce que son personnel sache le faire comprendre aimablement.
Dommage, l’endroit avait l’air chouette, j’y aurai bien diné !

This is a very typical Paris place, done in an above-​average way. If you’re in the neighborhood and want a simple dinner, this is a great option.
The steak was cooked quite nicely, with ratatouille cooked and seasoned perfectly. The burger had a nice sauce, bacon, and fresh tomatoes and pickles. Sit outside and enjoy the weather if possible.
Gluten-​free notes: There are lots of options here that follow the classic French gluten-​free formula: gluten-​free entrée followed by big piece of meat/​fish/​poultry with sauce (most are gluten-​free but ask), and your choice of side dish (potatoes/​veggies/​rice). Plus either cheese or a milk-​based dessert to finish. Voila. Success.

La taverne de l’arbre sec a su acquérir et maintenir au fil des années une bonne réputation. La formule bon, pas trop cher et convivial, plaît toujours autant. Il y a toujours du monde à l’heure du déjeuner et pas mal d’entre eux sont des habitués.
C’est dans une ambiance détendue de bistrot traditionnel que le personnel vous accueille agréablement.
J’aime beaucoup la grande terrasse, chauffée l’hiver et ouverte l’été, mais j’aime un peu moins la salle intérieur car c’est un peu trop bruyant.

Accueil très pro et sympa. Rapport qualité-​prix relativement bon. On a pris :
— saint Jacques: excellentes
— côte de boeuf de 400g: qualité suffisante, elle aurait pû être plus tendre, mais elle était bien persillée (à noter que je suis TRES difficile sur les viandes) accompagnés d’un os a moelle, sympa (19 EUR).
Gratin dauphinois sensationnel.
Tiramisu excellent.

La formule du midi à 13 euros et qqs (plat/​déssert/​café) vaut le coup, elle marche même le samedi. Dans un quartier sympathique, rue St Honoré. Je recommande le tiramisu maison, délicieux. Accueil sympathique. Toujours plein.

Petit restaurant sans prétention et bien agréable. Bonne ambiance, terrasse très chouette, il est vrai que l’intérieur est un peu sombre et bruyant, mais ça fait parti du charme. Le burger entre deux tranches de muffin, servi avec du gratin dauphinois est à tomber.

Friendly restaurant which menu can’t be found wanting, either price– or quality-​wise.
You speak english, not french? No problem! The owner is an Englishman who settled in Paris years ago!

Une excellente surprise à cet endroit de Paris: j’y ai mangé l’un des meilleurs burgers maison, accompagné d’un gratin dauphinois miam !! Et je souligne l’accueil souriant et convivial des serveurs/​euses, ça fait vraiment plaisir car c’est assez rare !

Petit resto avec cave et terrasse. Eviter la cave: carrelage au sol (inesthetique, froid et bruyant). Rdc chaleureux. Terrasse sympa sur petite rue. Ambiance sympa au bar avant de dîner. Cuisine francaise, agréable mais sans surprise. Bön rapport qualité prix (compter 20 euros vin compris).

Enfin voila nichée au cœur de Paris, cette petite adresse bien sympa, pas chère, vu la qualité (et oui ça existe encore !) et où l’on né vous pas prend pas de haut ! Ça fait plaisir ! Alors mes enfants, foncez !
