For the price you pay you may want to stay away from this shamble of a restaurant.
Order our drinks with food and they did not come until I asked 20 minutes later. Starter was very prompt then waited a further 15 minutes for our plates to be cleared and then an even further 30 minutes for our food.
There is better out there for the money that was spent

Excellent restaurant. The ambiance was very cozy. The wait staff was very professional and attentive. The price was extremely inexpensive for the quality. 39 euros for a 3 course meal. Everything we had was very tasty. The apple/​turnip soup and grilled asparagus starters were amazing, light and refreshing. The steak and salmon was very flavorful. The desserts were decadent. It was nice to finish the meal off with a pot of English tea.

Fantastic meal. the head waiter gave me excellent suggestions, the white asparagus starter and the salmon entrée with the house merlot. My mother had the ginger soup and the steak and loved them both. My compliments!

Excellent restaurant within Clontarf Castle Hotel. Very good food. Reasonable wine list. Comfortable seating in period room. Sufficiently creative menu. Pleasant responsive staff. A few minor details on the food would give it the fifth star. Bread platter a bit ragged; potato wedges with steaks not quite cooked. Expensive, but not excessively so. Hosted some Irish guests, and we all enjoyed the evening.

Dining Room is lovely, vaulted ribbed ceiling in black & gold. Black Crystal chandeliers. Stained glass windows. Leaded glass too. Chic Gothic vibe.
Wallpaper alternates between a sullen ribboned gold and a matte black floral embossed.
Interesting menu choices and wine list. Excellent service.
Pork belly croquettes with apple purée and matchsticks of tart apple to balance the slight salty taste of the pork. Very nice.
1^st steak not to order.
Champagne sorbet served while waiting for steak redo is beautiful. Very nice touch.
2^nd steak as ordered.
Nice chocolate bark and bit of meringue as a finale when I declined dessert.
