The other day I came here at sunset and sat in the winter garden to watch the sun go down and enjoy a meal with a friend. I had the tacos with fennel coleslaw and pulled duck with sweet potato fries and it was delicious! The décor is very classy without being over-pretentious and not overly priced. The views of the bay are lovely and there’s not much better a spot in Clontarf. Another great thing was the free glass of prosecco I got for checking in on the Unilocal app!

I really like this very busy gem of a restaurant and the location is great. Its very busy, Im not sure if they take reservations but Id recommend it if they do. I was there for lunch and the service was fantastic by all the staff. I love the décor. The salad and coffee was great also. There is only one thing I would change and that is the Irish coffee. It wasnt great to be honest and could do with some work. Apart from that Ill definitely come back.

We went here on Tuesday night without a booking and they welcomed us straight in. I got the fillet steak and my boyfriend got the chicken bang bang. Absolutely delicous. They even gave us warm taco shells and homemade hummas while we were waiting! I think this could easily become one of my favourite restaurants.

ituated on the main Clontarf Road, Bay has a longstanding reputation for really great food. I’d been before for coffee and scones and really liked the place so was looking forward to trying out the full evening menu. It was a dismal Autumn day and this paired with the road works outside didn’t offer the best view from our table in the terrace area, however the little touches made it cosy and I did enjoy sitting here instead of inside. The menu is pretty extensive and certainly offers something to please everyone. I was torn between the Burrata and the Wild Mushroom Bruschetta and had I still been a meat eater the chicken wings would have been a definite! We ended up going for the Burrata with pesto and a rocket salad(€ 8) and the Scallop Satay with Tiger Prawns(€ 9). Burrata is so rarely on a menu and I have no idea why — it was absolutely delicious, super creamy … and yes, I did eat every bit of that! :-) For mains we went for polar opposites… the Vegetable Bang Bang(€ 14) — oriental veg in a coconut and lemongrass sauce — and the 8oz Fillet steak with chips and brandy black pepper sauce. The curry was tasty and filling with the chunky veg and creamy sauce and I was told the steak was perfect… if maybe a tad smaller than what we are used to being served… I’m not sure if it was confused with the 6oz steak they offer but at € 26 I thought it was maybe a couple of euro overpriced. Deciding to go the whole hog, we got desserts too :-) I know so many people don’t agree with the calories on the menu but I think it’s a great idea when possible. Much as I wanted the brownie, we went for the Eton Mess at a couple of hundred calories less and the Carrot Cake. Both desserts(€ 7.20) were just gorgeous and along with a cappuccino absolutely filled us to the brim. The total bill for 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts, 3 alcoholic drinks and 2 coffees was just shy of € 100… I feel most things were just maybe a euro or so more than they should have been, bringing the bill up by maybe € 10 more than I felt it deserved. However, all the food was delicious, staff were helpful and friendly and it’s a lovely little restaurant… I look forward to returning in the summer when I can soak up some sunshine on that terrace!

5 stars yes 5 stars!!! There is not one thing I could fault with this fab little chic eatery!!! Oh wow it was all so amazing from the location, the furniture, the view and ambience!!! We went here on Wednesday around 1ish and it was busy but not too busy! That nice busy where u don’t feel awkward and weird eating and chatting!!!(I know u get me) So, the food… Oh wow the food!!! I had the pork belly & pulled pork slider with sweet potato fries! Yikes it was all just so yum!!! Not like the typical Bbq pulled pork that every place in Dublin is cooking up at the mo! It was just so tasty and succulent without being overbearing in sauce!!! Himself had the sirloin steak with fries and a brandy, peppercorn and raisin sauce! The steak(which I tasted obvs) was like a perfectly cooked medium with a delicious taste of smoked chargrilled Bbq off it! Wow just wow!!! And the sauce was just so tasty and funky and different! not your typical pepper steak sauce, it was just so yum!!! For dessert I went for the banoffe and himself went for the raspberry and lemon meringue tart! Oh crap I wanna eat them both again NOW!!! They were both just so so tasty and freshly cooked! None of this pre made, sliced off a readymade cake it was all fresh and served perfectly!!!(The pics will make you drool) I wouldn’t even say u have to live near here to try it! I’d say make the journey and do not let this place be missed!!! It’s a little gem of an eatery!!!

Nice place, if the weather is good I can’t recommend enough eating outside. Perfect place for lunch after a morning at Bull island.

Outdoor seating area is unbelievable– so cosy! It felt as if we were dining on the coast of France or Italy! The food has always been beautiful and well presented but the one thing that ruins the experience is you’re nearly on top of other customers– the tables are too close together. Every dish has information on it– calories, gluten, sugar etc which is great for someone on a strict diet or someone with allergies. I started my meal with a Workout Wonder green juice which was delicious but a bit pricey for it’s size, I then had some of my sisters Pâté which was so beautiful the flavours really complimented each other, I then had my main which was the chicken bang bang and sweet potato crisps. I was fully satisfied. Our meal was delicious and not one person left anything on their plates. Also if you order on the phone to take away you get 20% off — definitely worth getting!

Great fresh food! We’ve been several times for dinner and tea and have ordered take away. I think the take away is the best in the area and they give you a nice discount from the regular menu if you take away. We’ve been very happy with the fish, salads, savory pancake, risotto, etc. We haven’t tried anything we haven’t liked. The fresh juices are also amazing! I love the strawberry.

Just been to Bay this morning for breakfast slash brunch. First time here since they have extended their dining area with a canopy structure. This place is always hopping… great atmosphere. It is a bit on the small side but there is nothing they can do about that. Food is always spot on. I had the Eggs Florentine… beautiful sauce. Staff are always attentive and friendly. I’m pretty sure this was one of the first restaurants in Dublin to display health info on the menus as well.

Bay had a revamp late 2014 so I brought family to check out the changes. The restaurant has opened up so that it extends into an ‘outdoor seating’ area but is actually covered and warm. Food caters for everyone, especially coeliacs which my Mum is– plenty of options and staff happy to advise. The beef and mushroom risotto is amazing and just the right amount to fill you up. I returned recently for lunch and wasn’t that hungry so decided to try a salad. I’d rarely order a salad but it was huge, had loads of chicken and an option I’d get again. Place is always buzzing, especially on the weekend. Slightly more expensive than the norm but the food is worth it. They also have a loyalty scheme which I think is fab for regulars.

Sorry, I had great expectations about this place, maybe I visited the place during a busy time, it was new year’s eve, the service was terrible, we were waiting for a table but some people came after us and was seated and served first… Food was delicious, well presented, so tasty, I loved my pasta with prawns, however, after we finished our meal the waiter took so long to come back that we just ended up paying the bill, which was a shame because I wanted to try their dessert. I might come back one day… Or maybe not.

Was so pleasantly surprised with Bay. I’ve heard numerous times before that this is a healthy eating establishment… but had always doubted that somewhat. We went in for breakfast and the menu had a list(as long as my arm) of healthy breakfast options. Omelettes of various fillings, smoked salmon but i chose the healthy full Irish breakfast containing poached egg, beans, relish… and best of all, fresh homemade bread! I left feeling satisfied and healthy… just not healthy enough to walk along the beach afterwards! Will definitely be back for a taste of their evening fare! Looking forward to it

I’ve spent good few dinners at Bay this summer, and the last… Is just so relaxing sitting outside and have wonderful food, nice wine… Or a nice tea! You are practically in front of the sea. My dogs always come with me haha ! Menu… Very tasteful. Obviously fish is my first option, The Baked Hake is my favourite. They have organic and healthy options, but in general everything is good. They have nice deserts but my number 1 is the mango sorbet. Parking can be a little bit painful sometimes…

This is a great spot for dinner(or lunch actually) if you are in Clontarf. The food is good, the staff are lovely, and they have a great menu. They have a full bar and outside dining as well. I had the filet here and it was cooked to perfection, and by that I mean bleu like I like it. The prices are not too dear and they have lots of local and organically sourced items on the menu.

As a total shot in the dark I had the Vegetarian Bang Bang and soup of the day. Both fantastic. The manager found us a table when we arrived without a reservation even though the place was packed. Very sweet of her indeed. The atmosphere was really great too. Definitely coming back because the menu was really innovative and I wanted to try nearly all the main courses. The service was a little shoddy. The waitress seemed reluctant to help us when we asked questions and in fact walked off mid-conversation only to return five mins later with, «ok, you ready to order?» I didn’t get testy with her because it looked like they were understaffed. But still, in a classy establishment especially, a good manager should prevent this kind of thing. But like a lot of restaurants in Ireland we tend to suck it up because the food is pretty decent.

Really attentive staff and the chicken sesame salad is unreal– also try the fennel bread– DELICIOUS!!! Breakfast a la moi is poached eggs, crispy bacon, avocado and some fennel bread– perfect post-workout meal! :)

Always loved the food and experiences here until I came here one night as a «living social» voucher customer. Definitely saw a huge drop in the attentiveness of the staff and the overall quality of the food. Apart from this have never had anything but positive experiences but haven’t been back since that night. Sent an email to the manager but never received any sort of reply.
