I live near stoneybatter and have passed this place on numerous occasions. Finally went in for a meal for two and was very pleasantly surprised! You can get an early bird 3 course meal for 23 euro from a set menu with lots of choice and a glass of wine! I personally got the prawns to start followed by the steak and finally the tiramisu. Had absolutely no issues with anything and it was incredibly tasty and well cooked! My girlfriend got the soup of the day followed by the fish of the day and then the apple crumble. We were both very pleased with what we got and given the price are incredibly happy with Cucina2! The staff are incredibly friendly and the premises are very clean and modern! Will definitely be visiting this place again!!!

I’m a big fan of Italians and this one is a local gem. Prices are very reasonable for what’s on offer and service is great. The most important part is of course the food and trust me it doesn’t disappoint! Lovely mix of classic dishes and modern favourites. You have to try the mozzarella starter, amazing!

Wow… This little Italian NEVER disappoints. I have eaten here about once a month since December with my husband and 2 children, and we just love the place. The Early Bird is the best value around, € 15,95 for 1 course and a glass of wine, € 17,95 for 2 courses and a glass of wine and € 19,95 etc. You can get a delicious pizza for only € 12.95, that’s cheaper than Dominos! Every dish is cooked fresh, and their pasta is the best I’ve ever tasted in an Italian restaurant. They have steak on the early bird, and this is a «proper» steak, cooked to perfection with all the trimmings(also only € 15,95 with wine before 7pm). You really won’t believe how amazing this little gem is. I would love to see little gingham table cloths as I think it would really enhance the place but it’s defiantly worth a visit …

In short, this is the best food I have had in Dublin. Shocked and Nervous that this wee little business was not on Unilocal yet, I’ve stepped up to do my part for the community at large. You see, the thing is in the 2 years that I have lived up the road there have been three separate restaurants that have taken up this particular place. First«Seven»(which I think had been there for some time), then soon after moving here it became«Evelyns»(We thought the new owners were the waste not, want not kind, who wanted to keep some of the letters in the signage… or were dyslexic, or something.) And not Cucina2. Admittedly the name does not roll off the tongue. I went to Seven once, but wasn’t so impressed. It’s just up the road from Mulligan’s Grocer– and if you want a fancy meal out, we’d just go there for their adorable little book menus, scrabble«reserved» signs, and their waiters in costume. Still one night, they were full, so we thought we’d try the other place that just opened. Oh but wasn’t it just sort of gorgeous in it’s sheer authenticity. Italians being Italian, they thought«What’s more decorative than Sophia Loren”– Answer: Nothing! Lets put a Giant poster of her looking her Sultry best, that will go with every meal. I was on a romantic type date, and really I probably wouldn’t have minded whatever they would serve me. Oh but the food. My GOODNESS the food. In a way it was almost a annoying. I had to keep interrupting myself to make a yummy noise, or a little squeal of delight. My boyfriend actually did a dance throughout the meal. It was such a good time, I’ve come back again and again and again. I’m excited every time because I’m convinced there isn’t a non-delicious thing on the menu(The desserts! Holy Goodness!), and when I order I’m So excited for every bite. If anything the place is under-priced, and I guess in their newness they are still finding their feet. There are no gimmicks, and hipsters need not apply if you’re looking for quirkiness that goes beyond the patriotic curves of Ms. Loren, or a scene from the Godfather(I THINK that’s on the walls)… you can always go down the road to the Grocer’s for that. But if you’re looking for downright, upright, goodness-gracious-mammia-mia good food — PLEASE go here. I don’t want it to go out of business, before everyone has had a chance to try it!

I loved this place so much I am adding it to Unilocal.I had the best Caesar Salad ever there! Almost all the food was excellent. I dock one star because none of the wines were very good… maybe we just got unlucky, but they all seemed priced in the same range, and we tried 4 of them. Anyway I still heartily recommend it and just be careful what wine you order.
