I used a voucher for this € 8 for sambos and tea or coffee for two people. Seemed like a good deal. There looked to be a nice selection of sanwhiches but no menu board. It was a bit awkward standing there waiting to be told what was in them. The waiter was not too welcoming. I had a chorizo and goats cheese bagel which the waiter toasted for me. It was only ok. I hadnt realised there was rocket on it. Toasted rocket isnt tasty. The tea was served in a mug with the teabag left inside. The cup was dirty as was the inside of the milk jug. When my boyfriend went to ask for a fresh one the waiter seemed quite annoyed to be disturbed. The new cup was also dirty. My boyfriend said his coffee was good. I found the place very grubby with no atmosphere. The service was poor. Wont be back.

They are very knowledgeable about coffee and have a wonderful love for the art of making a good cup ‘o joe… They have their own blend of coffee, which is very tasty, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Irish coffee! They use organic Irish milk and fair trade coffee, and they re trying to get a cafetiere coffee culture going… goodwork guys! Oh and theres a wonderful view of the theatre…

Gran Caffe, what a gem of a café. Iain and David are two baristas who not only know their coffee, but are fabulously entertaining to boot. All the coffee I sampled at the Unilocal event I attended here was made using a cafetiere, something I have to admit I was a bit dubious about. I was never a fan of pressed coffee. But I am now a convert. The first sample was an Irish coffee, then there was a mocha and finally just black coffee. The highlight for me was the mocha, not what I was expecting but I was very pleasantly surprised. Very smooth are the words that come to mind. I also sampled some of the sweet things available here and I want to give special mention to the Rocky Road. It was not like any Rocky Road I’ve sampled before. It was really good. I think it’s a case of never getting proper Rocky Road before, until I came to Gran Caffe that is. I recommend Gran Caffe. I will definitely be making return visits myself when I am in the area
