Only eaten here once but the food was very good. Some lovely tapas dishes. A good Tapas place for me is one that keeps the standards up across all the dishes you have. If one of your dishes isn’t great then basically its not a top Tapas place. Havana meet this challenge with 5 very delicious dishes so gets my vote! It was pretty good value as well which is a surprise considering the location! Definitely worth a look if you are in the area.

I love this place. The food is so tasty, not to mention the wine. They do an early bird menu every day here from 5 – 7. I always go for one of the tapas platters and they never disappoint. The service is great, all of the staff are very nice. you’re always guaranteed a lovely eating experience here. Great location too, George’s street is where it’s at!

Ohhhh those Havanaaaaaa niiiiiights! I’ve been to this restaurant twice now — once for cocktails and another for a dinner event. This place is just so fun! The atmosphere is so casual and they have a few drink specials — 15 euro pitchers of mojitos, buy one get one cocktails, etc! I tried the wings and they were coated in the best tasting sauce — part buffalo and part Caribbean! So nice! I also tried the meatballs which were really tender. The chicken paella was the best of all the paella I had which were: chicken, seafood and veg. For desert, we had the churros. They tasted like the food that had been cooked in the fryer last — disappointing! They came with a nice chocolate dipping sauce. This might be ideal for a first date — not too romantic and loud enough to fill awkward silences. Oh and nice on the wallet!

A nice place to wander into if you’re looking for cheap, cheerful & decent food. The staff are super sound, they give off that«we’ll look after you» vibe that so many restaurants lack. The menu is an assortment of spanish inspired food that doesn’t require much thought when you’re ordering. I’ve eaten the paella(€ 5 on Monday!) and also the spanish omelette with cheese & bread and it’s all nice, if a little bit safe and unexciting. It’s got a slightly rustic feel to the place, like you’re stepping into your nana’s cottage in the countryside. I’ve heard this place can be good for drinks, but I’ve only ventured here at lunch times so can’t comment on this yet. Overall, it’s kinda impossible to hate or love this place. It plays it safe and does exactly what it wants v. well. A nice fallback option if the more experimental cafes & restaurants get on your nerves.

A wonderful gem of a place. Very welcoming staff for starters and a lovely environment to relax and eat in. Food is great, filling but you don’t feel stuffed after eating. Price is reasonable as well but would love to see a better selection of Spanish beers

Well, it’s a tapas bar, fine! But for a small plate of cheese and ham which is called Havana Platter, you play around 13 euro to notice you’re still starving! It’s too pricy for no good quality food. The decoration also looks silly. There are low quality printed photos of someone diving in water, and even more hung from pegs that are attached to a clothes hanger! There are far better restaurants and tapas bars out there. I’ll never go there again.

Well, this place was just delightful!!! For lunch anyway!!! defo one of the best spots around for lunch… I paid just under € 10 for a Spanish omelette with chorizo ham, salad, bread, hummus and a portion of fried potatoes… I loved it and so did my friend(she ordered the same)… Tasty tasty, cheap cheap and best part was it was super quick service !!(suits me eating out on my lunch break during work) … for those who are looking for cheap and quick… they tend to just go for fast food or food from the deli in the likes of Spar or Centra(nothing against them)… but I mean sure big mac meal costs about 7 or 8 euro… So for just about 3 euro extra your getting just as quick but actually healthy and a lot more filling and nourishing!!! … they do alcohol here also and a range of herbal teas… good for couples, groups, kids, eating on your own — whichever ! my friends coffee came with two little chocs too which I though was cute ! nice little touch !! its an all rounder !!! ill be back!!!

Popped in here yesterday afternoon for a bite to eat. Ordered the paella with chicken & chorizo and patatas bravas. All quite tasty and just the right amount. Nice menu for brunchy type get-togethers. Bottle of Pinot Grigio we ordered wasn’t chilled so we just threw some ice in. Relaxed atmosphere so fine for a long leisurely late lunch and a catch up with friends. Good value for money and staff were helpful and friendly.

Called in here with my wife to just get tea. The tea for both of us came in a small pot. Would have rather two small pots each! Didn’t try any food but looked nice. We sat at the window and read the papers. We were there for about forty mins and staff didn’t seem to mind that we spent that amount of time there after spending so little.

Listen all you people who complain that this is really Spanish Tapas, have you ever been to Cuba? The people are starving there, hence all the home made rafts floating 90 miles to Florida. The food here is was good. Ordered off the early bird menu, 5pm to 7pm. Ordered 3 plates and were enough for sharing. Had a sangria and a beer, total was around 45 Euro for 2 people. I would defiantly stop in again.

Good food, nice little restaurant. And I would eat here again. The main reason they lost 2 stars is the fact that they are called Havana and make a terrible mojito. If you are going to name your restaurant after a city in Cuba and you are going to offer a mojito, please make it a good one, not the overly sweet crap drink this place offers.

I stumbled upon this place while shopping in town, and on a hunt to try something a little different for lunch. I ordered the chicken and chorizo paella, and it was delicious. Very tasty, not too spicy and the regular size is perfect for a hungry lunch. It looks as though it is going to be spicy when it comes out, but really it is just full of flavor. The chicken and sausage are both so tender you can literally cut them with a spoon. All in all, a great first experience for the food, and I’m excited to return to try something else. One thing though, I wouldn’t say it’s great for drinks or cocktails. The Sangria tastes a bit cheap, and I wouldn’t suggest here if you want a typical«tapas bar» and cocktails. One thing also to remember here is that it is a bit like a café, so is quite casual and I’d say not exactly a cocktail type of place, as mentioned above. It can be misleading, because typically when I think of a tapas bar, I think of strong cocktails and good wine, and this is a more casual café like place. Good food, good atmosphere, but the drinks leave something to be desired.

Havana is a tapas bar with genuine Latin spirit, from the music and warm atmosphere to the simple, delicious food. It’s usually busy in the evenings and if personal space is an issue, this might not be your first choice of eating place. But while the tightly packed tables may not lend themselves to shared intimacies, or even the awkward spaces that can need negotiating on first dates, they add to the sense of a shared experience amongst diners — a communal intimacy, perhaps — that suits just fine if you’re out for a casual bite to eat, a catch up with friends over tapas. And, if you’re on your own, you won’t feel out of place here either, reading your book or just sitting back and people watching(though you might have to be subtle because, well, they’re probably only around four inches away from you). I’ve always found the staff here to be great — welcoming, attentive, unfussy. They manage busy times with aplomb and the food — unfussy, too, in keeping with the set up — comes fast and plentiful, and tastes good. A reasonable wine, a few beers, a good coffee — all are yours for the taking, and your pocket won’t feel stung. And if you’re in the mood to let loose and swing your hips, weekend evenings often lead to salsa dancing, and all are encouraged to join in, in much the same way they do in the city of Havana, where the tourists can get to make fools of themselves as they attempt to look graceful and sexy(or in my case, to simply not look like a complete idiot) while incredible dancers of the tradition strut their stuff just a few paces away. And if anyone’s laughing, well at least they have the decency to keep it to themselves. Fun, free-spirited and fresh, this cool eatery knows what it is, and does what it does well. Long live Havana!

This place really has fallen from grace into the depths of average muck. I was here just before Christmas for some Chrimbo food and drinks with some friends. My friend had it booked and you can’t be too choosey the week before Chrimbo as it’s a nightmare to get a reservation. Mojitos in a Cuban restaurant should be good. Bahahahahaha No. AWFUL I shared a bread and dips with my friend and ordered the paella for my main. The dips were fairly nice and the bread was pretty OK too. So I was quite content with this part of it. However, shop bought tortilla chips as part of a bread an dips plate? Hhhmmm. Hello Eddie Rockets! So the worst part of this experience? The paella! There was a choice of chicken and chorizo or seafood and chorizo. I asked what seafood was in the dish and the waitress said prawns, mussels and squid. I asked could I have it without the mussels. She said no. I was like em OK I will just pick them out. The only way I could describe the seafood in this dish is like it came from a frozen mixed seafood packet from ALDI. Disgusting. Tiny little prawns. The chorizo was also terrible. Bland. Flavourless. The texture was not what you would expect from a good quality chorizo. I left majority of the dish. Absolutely horrendous. I have a feeling I will be made come back here at some stage with friends and I may stick with the patatas bravos and bread as these were average but not inedible.

Nice bar, good service, but the décor is just weird, which means you spend a third of the time chatting about how the beach scene on tv is skipping again and laughing at how all the international flags are labeled — we guessed that the servers were just tired of answering questions about them… The food was good — we had a cheese plate, some dips — the hummous is very garlicky! — and chorizo, and it shared nicely between three people. Cheese was presented beautifully, with some crackers and jam and tomatos and lettuce to accent each individual flavor. There were probably five or six different cheeses, all of them tasty. The chorizo came sliced into rounds over a bed of home-fry style, large chunk roasted potatos. It was nice, but not exceptional. The dips were also pleasant — they came with Dublin«nachos»(tortilla chips to Americans) — and were each different. The pesto was chunky with pine nuts, which was unique(to me at least) and the hummous, as I said, was garlicky. Our favorite dip was the red one, but I don’t know what that was called. We got the mojito pitcher, too, and it wasn’t very strong or flavorful… I would recommend trying something else.

Yummo! I loved their chicken/seafood paella. Also order a platter of the Mixto which was very tasty as well. The décor was rather interesting. They have all of these Latino country flags strung about the place. They also had a rickety ukulele lying around which I picked up and belched out a few chords. Service was very attentive. No complaints there. Bar service is not so hot. I ordered a mojito which was overly sweet. Tasted almost like juice. Just stick to the food and you’ll be fine.

The bright interior and peppy Cuban music can’t help but lift your spirits, especially on a cold dark Dublin day. The staff are as warm and as flavoursome as the food they serve… Not that I have taken a bite of them, but it’s more an ode to the several nationalities working there. Great food list, excellent lunch time specials and also a place that you can go and have a coffee or beer and avail of their free wi-fi without feeling rushed. They also hold salsa dance nights, and Tuesdays between 4pm and 7pm they have informal converstional English, French and Spanish, all are welcome! To me that somes up the ethos of this spot, great simple honest cheap food with an eclectic clientale. You will always leave here with more colour in your soul!

This was one of the first places I ate at when I came to Dublin. It’s a small place and I think they play music in the evenings/weekends. The atmosphere is nice and there’s a good amount of food traffic/people reading books to make it nice. As for the food — it’s pretty good and relatively inexpensive(which should be taken with a grain of salt — this is still Dublin we’re talking about). I had the chorizo and potatoes, which turned out to be pretty darn good. The sangria definitely helped me overcome my jetlag as well :)
