Can’t say that this place is spot-on when it comes to making falafels. I’ve only been here once and will probably not come again, unless in such a daze that I’ve forgotten all about my first experience. My falafel was dry, and lacked all flavour, the veggies didn’t look fresh and the bread fell apart after the first bite. So all covered in sauce with salad falling into my pockets, I tried to finish my meal but half of it ended in the trash, and I went to bed hungry and frustrated. Perhaps the other choices on the menu are more eatable, but never go there for a falafel!

Hit the Spot wouldn’t have been a place I would have noticed when walking past on the street and decided to go into, but when I lived across the street in Rathmines Town Centre I found myself going there quite regularly after a night out on the town. They’re a combination Indian takeaway/kebab shop. The staff working inside are always friendly and remember you when you come in, and it’s always nice to feel welcome! The interior had been a bit aged and the stuffing was coming out of the booths, but a few months ago the interior was revamped and now there’s no seating. That said however they’re very quick in preparing your food and also offer delivery service. I never had any of the curries, but always went for the chicken kebab. The thing that set this kebab apart from all the other kebabs in Dublin is that it was filled with tons of lettuce and other vegetables, which always made me feel a bit healthier as I wolfed down the chips that came with the kebab meal. The prices are quite reasonable and they offer all kinds of meal deals, including chicken wings and burgers. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re stumbling back home after a night out.
