I tried this place for my first time today for lunch and I am satisfied with food and service. I am not an expert on «All you can eat» restaurant but I have to say that there is plenty of choices over 4 self service counters. I liked the chicken curry skewers, and their Chinese stew while fries and onion rings were not good. Flat taste and no flavours. They have also hot soup, but I didn’t tried. Floor is clean and tidy and staff is around to clean tables or take empty dishes. Staff is friendly and focused on the service. One thing I didn’t liked is the staff having a sort of walkie talkie on loud speaker so now and then you listen talking between staff. This bothered me a little bit. On the overall i am happy with this place and I will go back at least for lunch(9.90 Euro) while I am not sure for dinner because it cost more and it might be as convenient as for lunch.

Late night hunger struck and Jimmy Chungs ended up being our freshly fried food destination. On a Saturday night the place was fairly packed, but had plenty of seating. Our waitress brought water and let us loose to ravage the buffet! Im a picky eater so I was thrilled to see most of the fare was battered and fried chicken, breaded every way imaginable. I enjoyed the greasy meal and washed it down with some lime jello from the dessert bar. I would say dessert was the least exciting, several flavors of jello and ice cream that had to be portioned by staff. The price was a bit high, 15.90 for adults… the Jimmy Chung staff does do a great job of restocking the buffet with hot, fresh food and for that I’m cool with paying a bit more. Not a bad last minute option, just prepare ahead for the impending food coma that follows.

Tasty Chinese food. I enjoyed about half what they offered. Rest was overcooked or bland. Still i think there is at least 2 – 3 good items for most people.

Poor excuse for a buffet or Chinese food. Most food was quite dry and bland(Fri eve @ 7:30 pm). Quite disappointed. Hope the soft serve ice cream will at least get the bad taste out of my mouth!

Claimed to be closed at ~10p despite many diners and still having food in the buffet. Showed up at 9:55p with family after a late arrival at Dublin airport. We chose the place because we believed that we could get food in front of the kids quickly; instead, we were told that they were closed. Disappointing.

Food was unpleasant looking as it was to taste. Both starters and mains looked like they had been sitting under the hot lights of the buffet for not hours but days. Edges of meat were burnt while flavours were bland and some of the main course sauces watery. It was a real struggle to find a main course(s) from then buffet that even looked half edible. I took from a selection of the best of a bad lot and my low expectations weren’t even met. The best thing about the meal was the dessert; banana fritters and ice cream. Can’t really go wrong… but it did. The batter was chewy and hard to cut through, it tasted the best of the lot though. Service was poor. It took too long to get the attention of the staff even though they were hovering around the place. Wouldn’t recommend Jimmy Chungs to anyone. Not even someone I didn’t like.

Definitely the best all you can eat Chinese restaurant in Dublin in terms of selection and taste, but it’s also the most expensive by some amount(double the price of most of the other ones). Good but the price makes it not great.

Its not your average chinese buffet as they have the biggest selection ive ever seen! So thats a plus :). Choose from over 10 different starters and 10 different mains and even try some seafood mains which you rarely have in any normal chinese buffet. Last time I came here it was around 16euro which is good value for the amount you can eat. And when your finished you can give the deserts a try(cakes, puddings, fritters, and even pull your own sugary ice-cream from their machine). Its not fine dining chinese. but its certainley a damn good buffet!

certainly not the best the food isn’t great and is tacky its hit and miss with what you pick as some stuff tastes a lot nicer than other. I do understand the predicament if you want to run an all you can eat you cant sell the best quality food as you will be down money in no time doing that. The staff where typical all you can eat staff too rude and rushy. The price of the drinks are an absolute robbery and if you say you just want water you get such a dirty look you would swear you just committed treason i think the main way they make money is the prices they put on the drinks. The staff also came to take my plate and asked if i wanted drinks like three times literally the second i was finished eating the last thing off my plate they where over snatching it away from the table asking if i wanted drinks when i said no already just water. I was also paying evening rates so there was no need for this the evening rates a little too expensive for an all you can eat too.

When it comes to all-you-can-eat buffets Jimmy Chung’s is up there with the best in Dublin. Located conveniently close to O’Connell Street and beside the Laughter Lounge, it is great for a night out on the cheap. Good food for what it is, don’t expect Michelin star but it is cheap and filling.

Ok, I admitt it — I almost only eat the chicken balls here. Cannot really review any other food but the chicken balls are great. Tend to stock up on them and then it takes a while before I want to go back. It’s a nice casual place with a fresh buffé and did I mention that they dolovely chicken balls?

Chinese buffet with variety — I can honestly say every time I’ve went, afterwards I’ve waddled out stuffed to the gills. Why? There’s lots to choose from, and don’t forget the desserts. The cynic would say there’s 40 different sorts of chicken, but when you look closer, there’s starters, main courses, salads, a selection of different rice and noodles — and my fave — a tasty Thai style main course. For people who don’t like rice and noodles, they serve chips as well. The staff are very helpful, even if the place is full, they magically conjure up a free table for you. When the place is bustling, it feels like you’re sat down in a bazaar. It’s not the place where you go for a quiet meal — you go there for a fun, gluttonous meal.

Meh. So-so Chinese food. I won’t be returning. The staff weren’t that pleasant either. I have very little to say about this place.

I feel like I’ve been in Dublin a decent while and gotten to know some things… and then I pass this place and realize it’s an all you can eat Chinese place. Immediately I text my other American friend about it who responds, «I KNOW! We have to go sometime.» So we went, and while the food was pretty decent(He recommends the soup), it was way, way overpriced for what you were getting unless you really have the appetite to take full advantage. Chinese buffets aren’t supposed to have the best Chinese you’ll ever have, but they’re also supposed to be cheap places you can stuff yourself and feel gross afterward. I joked about bringing a trolley with me to take my week’s meals home after. I’d have to in order to make this place worth it. 16 euros for dinner, before drinks. One friend that came with went back many times more than I did and still complained he didn’t get his money’s worth. Some positives were that this place is very clean, and modern looking with nice wood floors and it’s very open and easy to get around the buffet area, even when busy. It helped that I was with a Chinese friend as well who was getting all sorts of things for us through the fellow Chinese server, and also some good laughs when he’d speak Chinese to servers that didn’t speak Mandarin. The music is way too loud, and Happy Birthday blared about every 5 minutes. I mean BLARED, where our table had to quit speaking to each other and wait it out. If this place was 8 – 10 euros I’d gladly come back, but at 16 our entire group was disappointed and voted to not return again.

Jimmy Chung’s is an ideal Chinese buffet. Great location, good price, and tasty food. They have so many dishes, excellent desserts, and the service is fast. Coming from America, the common view of Chinese’s buffets is that don’t expect great quality food, just go to eat like a king. However, Jimmy Chung’s changes that misconception, because the food was absolutely tasty. I’ll definitely be going back, whenever I want to feel like a king and eat good Chinese food.

this chinese restaurant is a mix of all you can eat buffet combined with cocktail bar. the cocktails usually consist of purple or green coloured concoctions but don’t taste too bad. the food on the other hand is only good if you are going there really really hungry. i have seen some homer simpson’s there and they look like there next famine is on its way. i like the starters buffet with its aromatic crispy duck, prawn crackers and bbq chicken but the main courses would look like they have been sitting there all day if it were’nt for the homer simpsons. they have an icecream fountain if you have any room left after your 5 plates and with the little flavoured custards they serve it helps it all go down well.

Don’t go if you’re not that hungry. That’s like spitting in the face of China. Go before five pm and it’ll be much cheaper, try and get the student discount too.

Jimmy Chungs is one of the latest Chinese buffets to hit Dublin. There’s lots all over Scotland, and this branch opened earlier this year. I went here with a few friends before a concert in the 02 the other day and it was fine. Not great, but not awful. It’s what you’d expect from a Chinese buffet — kinda gloopy food that’s been sitting there for a while, but it tastes fine. It is good value — lunch Mon-Thurs is € 10.90 per person and all you can eat, but it jumps to € 12.90 at the weekend. Then dinner(after 5pm) will set you back € 17.90 all week. They have a good variety — 20 starters and 40 main courses. Get this though — kids have to be under 4 foot 5″ to avail of the kids rice(€ 6.50/€ 7.50 for lunch and € 12.50 for dinner). So if you’re a really tall kid, don’t go here because you’ll be overcharged!
