Wow. just WOW! I was extremely lucky to have purchased a voucher for just 22 euro for four courses for two persons. Can not beat that value! And… it has been a pleasure from start to finish. Did I say wow already? I started with the leek risotto with quail. Could have easily had another bowl. Followed by roast salmon, it came with an interesting potato/almond terrine. Out of this world! I finished with the meringue and fresh berries. I checked their menu online and can’t see if they do an early bird. But I would even happily pay the full price for such high quality and originality. It’s a bit out of the way, but well worth the stroll(about 25 minutes from the city centre). They also seem to do an amazing brunch.

Dined here yesterday evening with a Menupages voucher and really couldn’t recommend this little gem more highly. The service and food were fantastic and the meal was astonishingly good value for money. When you think of soul food, you think of good, home-cooked, hearty dishes that are comforting and nourishing and Soulful Bistro does not disappoint, the dishes are also very light with a definite focus on healthy-eating. Accompanied by my girl friend, she started with the crispy hen’s egg which was beautifully presented and accompanied by a butternut squash purée, candied walnuts and chorizo. The egg was bread-crumbed and cooked perfectly, with the yolk still soft and oozing. The saltiness of the chorizo and sweetness of the walnuts married well with the velvety purée and crispy egg. I had a starter of portobello mushrooms accompanied with melted brie cheese and a side salad of rocket and spinach. Both plates were perfect and the highlight of the evening for both of us! Mains of hake for her and chicken for me also went down well. Her fish was flaky and delicately cooked, accompanied by peas and chunky chips and a wee pot of delicious ketchup made in-house. I didn’t think the small cubes of beetroot that surrounded the fish added anything to the dish taste-wise but visually they added a nice dash of colour to a mostly otherwise blandly beige plate. My main of chicken supreme was, on first tasting, a little bland but on further eating, I grew to really get a tase for the lovely salad with thinly sliced apple, blueberries and a zingy mustard dressing. The accompanying mash was well-seasoned and plentiful. I would still contend that the addition of a spinach and mushroom filling to the chicken added very little to the experience! We both plumped for the chocolate options on the menu. My chocolate tart was perfectly acceptable but was nothing to write home about. A crispier, flakier pastry and use of a darker chocolate may have elevated it past mehness. Her brownie, however, swimming in a raspberry sauce, adorned with crumbled pistachios and a quenelle of cream definitely came out on top in the dessert battle. Throughout the meal, the owner served us and was prompt, personable and generally lovely, her enthusiasm was infectious and added to the overall dining experience. A lovely setting, amazing food, service and awesome value for money make Soulful Bistro a winner, would definitely go back for seconds.

I was really disappointed with this place as it is so close by and the menu looked great. We ordered orange juice and were waiting aaages on it to arrive. Coffees arrived luke warm. I had the smoked salmon scramble and sweet potato pancakes — very standard nothing amazing at all. Then for the most devastating part, I ordered the brownie and it was so dry with no chocolate flavour at all! I was REALLY disapointed. The lady that owned the place was extremely abrupt and cheaky to her staff in front of customers which made us feel very uncomfortable. I think we will try somewhere else next Sat/Sun!

I have been before for breakfast and really liked it, although I found the food a bit on the luke warm side which is odd for me in a restaurant but anyway! I ordered take away sambos one day and was very disappointed, at both the cost and quality. I decided to give it some time before I thought about returning. However, I made a trip back recently for breakfast and things have improved, breakfast was delicious, so was the coffee. You get a free, fresh OJ if you check in, always a bonus! Food was still maybe a bit off hot hot, but cooked perfectly. Staff are super friendly too!

Great interior, lots of things to read on the walls and really friendly staff. I got a coffee, and scone, cream and a jam/compote all for € 5 — fantastic price. I was unfortunately only in this area of town for work, so I don’t know when I’ll be back to try the rest of the menu, but I will definitely try to if the coffee and scone are anything to go by. Loved the funny signs in the men’s toilet, and they were really clean too. Great for coffee on the go heads, freshly made scones and cream make my morning heads, and, I could spend all day in the sun trap reading the walls and enjoying the relaxing atmosphere heads!

Parking: paid parking out the front Mon — Sun and free parking Sunday on the main road close by. Menu: went there for a egg related brunch with the menu having plenty of egg related options. Ordered the eggs Benedict with ham and it was delicious!!! Seriously tasty. Pavlova for dessert, obviously home made and also excellent. Checked in and got a free orange juice. Décor \ atmosphere: clean, fresh, laid back, just right amount of noise. Service: seemed a little overwhelmed, probably could have done with a third member of staff on the floor Overall impression: very good, will definitely go back hung over or not

Cheese Platter. I wanted to start with that because that is what we were looking for in Dublin, and when searching Yahoo, this Bistro popped up in the search. My brother and I took our mother to Ireland for a big trip. As you will discover in Ireland, it is redundant to say people are nice. That’s a given. Moira, at this spot, went above and beyond. The service is the main reason I will return. I like a small business, and really root for good ones to succeed. The food here is made from love, and leans towards the healthy. The good news is that it doesn’t lose flavor as can happen with healthier options. When travelling to Ireland, you may notice that your stomach feels heavy with the pub foods. This is a nice, lighter, change to what you might typically eat in Ireland. She is also a wizard with suggesting spots for you to go to get specific food items you’re interested in(She recommended a great cheese shop for us for additional Irish cheeses). So, do me and Dublin a favor and stop in and patronize this place. You will have a good time.

Soulful bistro is a lovely local spot. The staff are so friendly and moira the owner is always willing to come over and chat! She is passionate about her bistro and it shows. We came in for Sunday lunch and had the chicken roast dinner. It was delicious and fantastic value for € 10 We had delicious desserts too– my bread and butter pudding was gorgeous — and the coffee was really good. Soulful is a lovely spot– I noticed plenty of locals popping in for a bite with the paper– always a lovely sign. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful despite being busy– she was the only one on the floor. We did have to wait awhile for coffee etc but she was so charming, it didn’t matter. Try this new local spot out– worth a look.

Still on my quest to find the best Sunday Breakfast this fine city has to offer, this little gem popped up in my Unilocal list. Ladies and Gents, I believe my quest may be over. It’s a very small little café, would be easy enough to miss if you’re just driving through Stoneybatter. Plenty of parking about on a Sunday. My dad was over, so I decided to treat him and my husband. What a treat it was! From the moment I walked in, I fell in love. It’s cosy, warm, seats aren’t too close together, lots of interesting things to look at on the walls and(most importantly) super lovely staff. The music is great, really relaxed and in keeping with the café’s theme. I checked in and availed of the free freshly squeezed orange juice. It is an absolute MUST. I am not a juice person, but wow. On to the food. Myself and my husband ordered the Soulful Grill. Finally a breakfast that one can call a ‘Full Irish’. It had all the trimmings including mushrooms and beans! I was spoiled for choice. Eggs how you like them! This place is all about the customer. The rashers are well done, so they’re crispy and delicious. The ketchup is their own, and generally I frown upon this, but I would buy a bottle of this stuff in a heartbeat. I have one or two suggestions that would make this place even more incredible: 1) More beans please! The portion is a little small, but I bet if I ask next time, I’ll get more. The staff just can’t do enough for you. 2) More toast please! That bread! Wow! One slice isn’t enough. 3) Service is a little slow, but totally worth it. Fresh food takes it’s time. This place will be my new go-to place for breakfast. Excellent job, guys. This place is a rare gem.

I don’t post many reviews but I felt so compelled to give credit where credit is absolutely due, to soulful bistro! Another great addition to Stoneybatters culinary growth and absolutely deserving of a 5* rating. Everything is organic & fresh & delish. I love Moira who owns, manages, eats & breaths her new business. and it shows, every little detail in the menu is virtually homemade(even the ketchup!) I love it. They do brunch lunch & dinner. Always a lovely atmosphere. Love it!

Lovely for a Tuesday treat. Myself and a few friends decided to try this and were not disappointed. Despite it being quiet(well it was Tuesday night) and we being the last in the place, the staff were lovely and friendly and did not hurry us at all. Special was roast lamb which was very flavoursome, and although I was surprised that the custard for the apple crumble dessert was cold, it was still delicious. A well deserved 4 stars.

Myself and my boyfriend ate here recently after reading the reviews. The restaurant is very well laid out the staff pleasant. We both had a starter and main and a bottle of wine to share. For starter we had the cheese special and the lemon sole. The cheese was lovely but the fish bland and quite dry. For main we had the Steak and Bangers & Mash. The Steak was not very flavorsome. The Bangers & Mash were delicious but almost no sauce came with them. The service was also very slow especially considering there was only 3 other tables seated.

Great restaurant, extremely friendly staff. We had the Tasty Tricolore of Healthy Hummus, Tapenade and Tomato Confit dips served with toasted bread for starters and then I had the Bangers and Mash for the main course. Both were excellent dishes. Highly recommended. Two thumbs up!

Another sunny day, another take away picnic for the park. Oh Ireland how lovely you are on these bright and sunny days! Soulful do picnic kits to bring with you to wherever you may choose. Chocolate, drinks, sandwiches and lots of other delish stuff. I(being good) got a salmon and quinoa salad. It was tasty, zesty and delish. Did I say delish twice? That’s cos it was.

Lovely little spot close to where I live. Been here 3 times so far(all for breakfast) and would recommend the Something Special option with blackpudding, onion marmelade and a poached egg. Orange juice is delish and fresh! Just bought their Grabone deal so will be going back again shortly!

Last night my wife and I ate at this tasty, fun and welcoming restaurant. I had the Healthy Fish and Chips(with the best tartar sauce ever) and my wife had the Beef Stew. Both of these items were incredible and well worth the money, which was also quite affordable for the style and favors. For desert, we enjoyed the Pie in a Jar which we would gladly eat again. If you find yourself in Dublin, I would highly recommend this restaurant!
