Okay so this place definitely has a better selection of pre packed sushi than its neighbour just around the corner but the one thing that I don’t like about Sushi King is the sachet of soy sauce they give you. It’s not practical at all. There is no ‘dipping pot’. Last time I checked you were not supposed to throw soy sauce on sushi like you throw ketchup on chips! It’s the little things that matter…

i love this place, always go there at least once a week and the service is great, the staff are friendly and helpful. You can sample from a certain dish to see if you might like it. It is reasonably priced and you get a good sized portion to take away for lunch/dinner.

Sushi — I love it, I miss it, I crave it. Since I work nearby, I’ve been back a couple times now for my sushi fix. This is a strictly fast food take-away place conveniently located on Baggot Street. For what it is, it’s actually not bad! The sushi is pre-made and in the fridge ready to go, and a variety of hot dishes are in warming trays ready to be dished into boxes. The bento boxes seem to be a good value for this part of town, and the sushi is fresh. I always get the Fish Fetish box, which includes: 2 Salmon Nigiri, 1 Tuna Nigiri, 2 Prawn Nigiri, 2 California Maki, 2 Salmon Avocado Masago Maki for € 9.20. Not worth a special trip out to eat here, but a perfectly decent quick lunch if you’re looking for options in the area!

It’s hard to find good reasonable sushi in Dublin but this place nails it. Very tasty high quality sushi at a reasonable price. The staff are also friendly and quick. The take away’s location is handy, about 5 minutes from St. Stephens Green. Overall a nice treat every once and a while.

I don’t particularly rate the ramen, and won’t comment on the sushi since I’ve only sampled it once or twice. The reason I keep coming back here is that I am completely addicted to their chicken gyoza and the delicious vinegary dipping sauce that accompanies. I also cannot get enough of their edamame beans that are a great, healthier snack option than a pack of crisps(though sometimes taste almost as salty). I adore gyoza and so even though they aren’t the best I’ve ever tasted, it is a real novelty to have somewhere so close to work that I can get take away ones. The staff are very friendly, always smiling and their daily specials are quite good value if you’re looking for a heavier lunch option.

YUM. YUM. YUM ! You either love Sushi, hate it or are just too scared to try it… Me, as you can tell, Love it ! If it wasn’t so expensive, I would eat it everyday, although then there would be a slight chance of me catching Mercury Poison(Highly unlikely). I work on Leeson St., so a nice little stroll down to Baggot street is so handy for a delicious lunch. I have to say my favourite sushi would be the ‘Sesame Seared Tuna with Miso Vinaigrette’, when you can get it. The ‘Delish Fish’ gives a great variety of sushi to choose from. If your not into cold sushi, don’t worry, they have a great selection of Hot Noodle Soups and curry dishes, with a special everyday of the week. Hmmm…it’s getting close to lunch and all this talk of Sushi is driving me nuts… see you in Sushi King «Jyaane»

Ok, so I’ll admit, I am not a fan of sushi. perhaps not the best start to a review of a place called Sushi King, but… Sushi King is not just about sushi. They have teriyaki, tempura, curries, daily specials and sushi. I pass this place all the time and today poked my head in the door to be greeted by a fabulous graffiti style menu, which was a little overwhelming and an absolutely lovely woman behind the counter who gently offered a bit of guidance, a taste if I wished and explained how the menu works — daily specials and a small selection of hot dishes that are always available, as well as the sushi in the fridges. I was tempted by the big pot of red chicken curry on the counter, but decided to go for a healthier, Friday feeling, salmon teriyaki. Nom nom nom. it was so good! Three big chunks of salmon on perfecly cooked rice, sprinkled with some toasted sesame seeds and served with chopsticks, no plastic cutlery here — hurrah! The portion was just a little bit big for lunch, but in a good way. I paused two-thirds through, then went back to finish because it was so yummy. Think it was around € 9 and would definitely keep you going if you were heading out after work. Was so impressed with the service and really enjoyed the food, will be going back again next week to try some tempura and then work my way through the daily specials and maybe, just maybe, some day I’ll give sushi another chance!

Dublin is not much of a sushi city. But I’m from Vancouver, so sushi is just a part of life… and a part I missed dearly in dublin. After trying some not so great and over priced rolls at some places on Parnell, I discovered Sushi King right by my work to boot! A few minute walk and I was delivered to my sushi salvation. Very reasonably priced(for this city), it covered off my basic rolls and satisfied my craving. I dashed out here to pick up lunch at least once a week.
