One of the best meals we had in Ireland. Got the early bird special which included a starter, chicken wings, as well as an entrée, marinated grilled chicken with vegetables. The chicken wings were truthfully some of the best wings I have ever had. They were crispy and perfectly cooked and the sauce was a perfect combination of sweet and spicy. The buttermilk ranch was the perfect accompaniment. The entrée, too, was a real treat. The chicken had a delicate yet tasteful marinade and was juicy. The vegetables provided a large variety including celery which was surprisingly delicious. The sauce was outstanding as well. My husband ordered the ribeye which he said tasted fresh and was perfectly cooked medium rare. The potatoes that came with it were crispy and well seasoned. The staff was warm and friendly and were very amenable to our baby who is quite vocal. If we return to Dublin, this will be the first place we eat.

Got the early bird 2-course for 19.95. Was good, but not amazing. We were moved halfway through our courses because they wanted to give our table to a group. I don’t understand why they couldn’t have moved another couple who had only just been served their drinks. Service was okay. Overall was a disappointment, especially considering the other reviews.

This was a fresh, delicious meal with great flavours. It’s unusual to get such a healthy meal with fresh vegetables and healthy meats. We loved our mixed salad, and the smoked salmon salad, and the red pepper soup for appetisers. For mains, we really liked the chicken dish, and the ribeye. Everything is clearly identified as GF or DF or Veg or contains nuts. What a great meal! Highly recommended!

We had high expectations for The Kitchen after reading other reviews. The menu offers a nice mix of dishes from a variety of culinary areas. Our party dined on wings, the burger, fish & chips, and a very nice seafood linguine. The meal was delicious but the service was lacking. Our party was seated alone upstairs and we rarely saw our waitress throughout the meal. I don’t think anyone would be disappointed by their meal, but don’t expect outstanding service.

We had a fabulous meal here on a Friday evening, no reservation. We sat outside and ordered from the pre theatre menu. It’s a good deal for such good food! The chicken wings are brilliant. They have their own lovely sauce on it that’s a bit tangy a bit sweet and definitely a bit spicy. The small portion is already very generous in case you want something a la cart. The manhattan seafood chowder is a tomato based chowder. It comes loaded with calms, prawns, etc. I’m definitely coming back to try some of that dessert!

I’m back here again for the 2nd time. The seafood linguine is definitely the best thing on the menu. It has lived up to my standards and can safely say that it maintained it standards from the first time. Probably the best pasta I had in Dublin. Unfortunately that’s the only pasta they have on the menu. Had their fries with dip as a side, but nothing spectacular.

Oh my god! Absolutely loved the food here! Even the«pink lady» drink I ordered was great! I ordered the buffalo mozzarella appetizer and had the grilled marinated chicken with vegetables for dinner. Followed by the cranberry Apple hazelnut crumbles with ice cream dessert. I wish they had this place in the USA! Excellent service, reasonably priced. Cozy little place too with an option to sit outside.

What most impressed me was the Seafood Linguini; really original plate and excellent presentation! Not the last time I’ll be there.

Delicious! I had arrived at 7pm & opted for the 2 course early bird special. The burger was amazingly good as well as my pie. I also enjoyed a glass of Malbec & an Irish coffee. We had a group of 10& everyone was very happy with their meal.

Me and my friend picked this restaurant randomly as it was mentioned on the 10 best early birds on another site. 20 Euro for 2 courses. Sounds good right? But actually many of the dishes on it you had to pay a supplement. And the prices of the wine by the glass were quite shocking. One ‘cheap’ white/red was 6,50, but all others around the 8 euro mark. Bottles were all well over 25 euro. Right. On to the food(see my photos) I really, really wish I could be more positive, but we were both so underwhelmed. My friend liked the Brocolli soup, I found it quite bland, and nothing I couldn’t make better myself at home. She ordered the burger. It was an oversalted, dry piece of meatball on a tiny bun with few pickles and a slice of cheese(not even melted). No other garnish, not even a tiny shred of lettuce. She finished only half. I went for the good aul fish and chips… A generous portion arrived, 6 pieces of battered monkfish– which were quite allright! But to my horror, it came with ‘pimped up’ mushy peas, described as a pea guacamole. So it was mixed with tomato, and what not… and the flavours seriously did not work. vile!(and I LOVE my greens usually!!!) The shoestring fries that came with it… lukewarm, bit too undercooked… only managed to eat a few. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing I don’t know. To me, the dishes just screamed: trying too hard to be cool. All in all my favourite part was the fresh slice of bread that came with the soup. And I ended up paying 30 euro for that!(including a small tip for the very friendly staff) I will give them another chance for the brunch that I have heard good things about, but unfortunately not for dinner.

Right off the bat I have to say this: the food quality was 5 stars, the portion size was a 3. Hence, average of 4. We were here on a Saturday evening, I had made reservations for 10 but some of our group fell ill during the day and weren’t able to make it so we ended up with 7. We were seated immediately and it was surprisingly empty right up until about 7 p.m. The waitress was very patient although perceptibly annoyed about the unpreparedness of our party at multiple points, and the food came out in good time. Wonderful presentation and delicious although again, small portions. The desserts though. OHH. So heavenly. Words cannot describe. The warm guinness muscovado thing was out of this world, and several friends got the mango/passionfruit cheesecake and raved as well. The craft beers were very good — we all tried one — in bottles, not on tap. Overall great meal, not too crowded, nice decór, and fairly decent prices. The two course meal was 20 € and covered main and dessert. Would definitely come back, even if just for dessert!

Shocked at the high ratings for this place. All the food was bland, and thrown together. I got some chorizo and chicken dish and my friend had curry, both dishes had random chunks of cucumber in them?! the curry was slightly more bearable but I couldn’t finish my tasteless dish. Prawns and cockles were the furthest from fresh, definitely frozen. Avoid the place!

I have wanted to try this place since we moved here and for whatever reason, it never made the weekend cut. Well, the other night we were meeting friends at McDaid’s so decided to try for dinner nearby, and finally, it made sense to check out The Kitchen. We walked up at 7(mind you without a reservation) but luckily, we were just early enough that they had a free table. We quickly sat down, ordered our beverages and got to work on the menu. After a brief look we settled on the Manhattan style seafood chowder to start, monkfish scampi for myself and J got the grilled chicken. After we ordered we finally had the chance to pay attention to our surroundings. We typically enjoy patio dining(and their heaters kept it quite warm) but we did not take their location into account. With the proximity to Grafton you hear tons of shouting, singing, fighting, etc. to the point that you can hardly hear the person across from you. Unless this appeals to you, I would highly recommend making a reservation so you can enjoy the ambiance of the place inside. Before we knew it, the chowder arrived and we were surprised to find a tomato broth but decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, there was nothing interesting about this chowder. Okay broth. Okay seafood. Just okay. Many of the other starters looked appealing so we would not try this again. Luckily, once the mains arrived our experience took a major turn for the better. My dish had lovely presentation with chunky mashed peas topped with flaky pieces of breaded monkfish and swirls of sauce around the plate. The fish was perfectly cooked and tasted so nice with the peas and sauce. They served delicious thin fries on the side and the Texan in me was extremely happy to be able to have a side of ranch to dip them in. J’s chicken was juicy and tender and came with yummy Asian style seasoned veggies. Very light dish but had a good portion and great taste. The Kitchen offers nice food at a good price so I will happily come back again.

Firstly, I made the reservation for a table via the Unilocal website, The staff at the Kitchen followed up with a hone call the same day to confirm the booking during which I was able to update the booking time. On arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to see kraft beers on the menu. By the end of the meal, the party of 5 all agreed that the service and food were excellent. The menu proved to be great value. I would be happy to recommend The Kitchen to any one looking for a good value restaurant with quality dishes.

Lovely early-bird here last Saturday. Brilliant value, really lovely atmosphere and great staff. For starter i had the calamari which was beautifully presented, cooked perfectly and came with a slather of super tasty jam and a pot of aoili with a little heat in it. I am a BIG fan of any type of condiment, so when a dish comes with a choice of two, it’s a winner in my eyes. For main I had the burger which was made of excellent quality meat, though was perhaps a little on the dry side — it could have done with being cooked just maybe 30 seconds less. It came with shoestring fries which were perfect as well. The plate did look maybe a little bare though — some type of garnish or salad or another side might have been good. The desert was the only let down — I had the Guinness sweet toffee pudding with ice cream. It was nice, don’t get me wrong, but not exceptional. I don’t know, the flavours just didn’t jump out for such an exquisite sounding dish. As I said, staff were lovely and I loved the décor and atmosphere in the restaurant. Really simple and modern but cosy and warm. Definitely will be back.

Went to the kitchen last night, had planned it for a while but to be honest I am quite disappointed. I think it’s to expensive for what is actually is — even though the location on south Anne street is quite nice. My main was lamb with roasted vegetables and couscous plus mint tzaziki! The couscous was really good — tzaziki as well, but there was almost nothing on my plate. also I missed roasted vegetables — or should 5 slices of pepper be it??? My lamb was ok, it was supposed to come medium rare, it was rather medium well done… I don’t know, next time I go here I make sure I only have starters as a snack(they are actually good) and a drink, but no dinner for me anymore @kitchen — there are just better places in Dublin city centre.

Not understanding the hype here. The starters didn’t really appeal to me so I just went for main and dessert. I had strip loin steak but it was basically steak with 5 big chips all for 23 quid. Where’s the accompaniments lads? No fair!!! We shared 2 desserts. Belgian chocolate tart and strawberry and vanilla cheesecake. They were nice but nothing out of this world. The Bellini I had was luscious though! Prosecco with peach schnapps and crème de cassis. We searched for steak and this restaurant came up in the top 10. Really? But hey, that’s just my opinion.

Great spot to eat. Looking for a quick bite this evening and they accommodated us straight away. Service was excellent and food was amazing, cooked to perfection. Asked for medium to well done steak, super flavours, so fresh and absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back. I want to try the chicken wings. Looks amazing!

Found the Kitchen when I was looking for places serving pre-theatre menus near the Gaiety. It was the perfect choice! They have an outdoor seating area that looks very inviting but the interior is just as pleasant, their small downstairs room is cosy and intimate. The waiter was very nice from the start and even opened the door for us when he saw us arriving. While we were browsing the Early Bird menus we noticed their shelves with bottles of wine; one of them stood out for us as it was a Portuguese wine from the Douro region. It wasn’t listed on their regular menu so we asked about it to our waiter, we told him we wouldn’t want the whole bottle as we didn’t have much time before leaving to the theatre. He had no problems with that and offered to go and ask his manager. He came back with a yes, which was brilliant. The food started arriving, my bf had the calamari and I went for the pear salad they were serving that day. Both were flavoursome. As main we had a duck curry(I thought this could only be very good or very bad, luckily it was just perfect) and a Jambalaya. All the food we tried was simply stylish and satisfying, nothing too overdone. Unfortunately we didn’t have much time for dessert or to spend some more time there, but it’s definitely a place I’ll be going back to, as they sure have a very good taste and seem to take pride on everything they do and serve. I think it’s perfect for a quiet or even romantic dinner :)

Don’t miss this unassuming place! Wonderful restaurant that is better than most of what London has to offer. Excellent service, delicious food, and wonderful presentation. I got the duck leg and could not be happier. Also, the baked Belgian chocolate and baileys tart was a great dessert.
