Brewery Corner

Lors de notre séjour à Kilkenny, on cherchait un endroit pour se restaurer vers 21h30. En remontant la rue commerçante, on a été attirés par la devanture de ce petit pub. Un petit écriteau indiquait que des pizzas maison étaient disponibles. Finalement, le serveur, très sympathique, nous a indiqué que le service était fini. Quel dommage, mais il fallait s’y attendre à cette heure tardive.
Etant charmés par l’ambiance de ce petit pub tranquille, qui fait aussi office de bar à jeu, on s’est promis de revenir en post-​soirée après notre escapade dans un restaurant.
Chose faite, nous nous réinstallons dans une petite table à l’entrée, proche de la cheminée. On a ainsi pu déguster une bière O’Hara’s de la brasserie de Carlow (un large choix en pression), tout en jouant aux dames et à la bataille navale.
Un chouette moment, très convivial, lors de nos vacances en Irlande !

Brewery Corner is the pub to go to in Kilkenny to try the O’Hara’s brand of beer from Carlow Brewing. There isn’t a tasting room at the brewery so they have this pub tucked away at the end of one of the main tourist drags in the city. It’s a cool little pub that serves pints and flights of the O’Hara’s beers and a few other guest taps. We went in on a weekday and had the place to ourselves. Their beers were about average for all the beers I tried on my Ireland trip but they have a big variety so there is something for everyone. No food but there are restaurants within walking distance and several other pubs as well.
