The husband and I were on a driving tour of Ireland and spent a night in Kilkenny. When walking to dinner we were invited by a pretty red headed lass to return here later for Irish dancing and no cover! We took her up on it and we’re very entertained by 2 Irish dancers and a great two piece band. The band did covers of Old Crow Medicine Show’s Wagon Wheel and Steve Earle’s Galway Girl, as well as, some great Irish toons. Great time!

If you want plain olé tap water go to Zuni’s just up the street. The price is FREE. You can ask for tap water here and the server brings you bottled water stating«He doesn’t want you to Trip Advisor them because you got sick from drinking the water.» I think it is just a way to add to the bottom line($$$$). When asked about the ice in the glass his story was«That is different water and filtered several times.» I am afraid I am going to drown in the BS. This is NOT listed as a Rick Steves’ restaurant of choice, but Zuni’s is mentioned and clearly the availability of quality the drinking water for FREE could be a good reason.

Just happened to be strolling by beautiful Kilkenny and stumbled upon this location, excellent food and good selection of beers, fast service, very spacious. They have a real big large screen television taking up most of the wall, looks good

Stopped off here on a short stop in Kilkenny on our tour of Ireland. We got the fish and chips, which was large portion, very tasty, and enough for two people and reasonably priced at 10 euros. Pints were also good here. They also have a tv in here that’s the full size of a wall as well, I imagine excellent for watching sports. I would definitely stop here in the future if we happened to be coming by again.

part of our stag party package was a bit of finger food in Lanigans but it was so good we stayed and after a quick tour of town came back for the night. there was no end to the finger food and we were offered more but were stuffed. there was entertainment upstairs during the day that sounded fun but by the time we decided to move up there it was just finishing unfortunately. seems like a big place for stags and hens but they arent left run riot. there was one man that fell asleep on a chair while we were there and he was chucked out straight away, which to be honest i was delighted to see. i notice way too much of a tendency in bars to let people get drunk for a few extra quid and then all hell breaks loose. when we returned later in the night the party was in full flow and the bouncers and bar staff were friendly and we really enjoyed our night. so thanks very much

One of the friendliest pubs in Kilkenny. Two tiers, and reasonably priced drinks. The owner gave me a hurling stick, merely for showing an interest in the sport. Nice place :)

Popped in here for lunch one day on a road trip from Dublin. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I chose the bacon and cabbage which came with mash potato and chips. That’s a lot of potato! Overall the food was fine. Average pub grub and priced fairly.
