Very pleasant place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. The service was nice, prompt and friendly. It is very hidden, but there was a fairly steady stream of people in and out of the coffee shop throughout my visit. I ended up staying there almost 2 hours with my friend but as we weren’t taking up desired seats, the staff didn’t seem to mind! It’s cosy and the menu is actually quite extensive, although all I had was a coffee!

A charming coffee shop tucked away in a book shop! A good idea I hope it gets the business as rathmines littered with coffee shops

Well hidden at the back of Hannas bookshop is Bark coffee — named after the pooch who sits under the owners desk, lovely dog. The coffee shop itself is small with no natural light, which I think makes it feel a bit dingy, but the lighting and well laid out table make up for it. The shop is hidden — so you rarely have to fight for a seat which is nice. If you have just picked up a good book in the bookshop, then this is the perfect place to grab a(very good coffee) and curl up for a quiet 40 mins to get it started.

I really like this little café; friendly staff, yum food, including homemade cakes and treats. The atmosphere is quite relaxed. Another Rathmines locale. For me, it’s got a few things(besides the above) going for it. 1) It’s in a book shop. I love books 2) It’s small and intimate 3) It’s got cozy armchairs. 4) Free WiFi The only time I’m not crazy about it is when it’s sunny outside. It feels a bit sheltered from the nicer elements. Not their fault. Just saying.

What better way to spend a horrible, feels-like-being-spat-in-the-face, rainy afternoon than to go into a cute little bookshop, purchase one of their individually brown paper wrapped books and sit down for a cosy read in the gorgeous café tucked in at the back of the shop! I know summer is upon us but let’s bear in mind that this is Ireland people, so we’d be fooling ourselves if we didn’t anticipate a fair whack of rain to come our way over the next few months. As such, I would definitely recommend this café to be a pit-stop whenever you find yourself in a similarly wet and windy situation. The coffee is bang on and the sweet treats are always fresh. I think they could be introducing a larger lunch menu in the future but for now it remains cakes, sandwiches and soup(have yet to try, but must say they looked good)
